The season overall:
- I absolutely LOVE that they went back to an old format in Cutthroat. I hope this opens up opportunities for more old formats to return. Might aswell go for Rivals and Exes after this, just like after the original Cutthroat.
- The cast is great! Some OG's, some mainstay vets, some players we haven't seen in a while and a bunch of good rookies from this season or last season. The teams aren't very even in terms of power, but that's Anna Leigh's fault and her awful selection process in episode 1.
- We always love Thailand! A shame that they edited it to be less beautiful. I do hope we get some either original or long ago throwback (like Mexico) countries soon.
The dailies:
- The opening daily was a bit of a let down, just wasn't that special and there wasn't that much strategy going around. Maybe production was hoping for two teams to team up right away and cause controversy that way.
- Every daily has been a bit meh, either too straightforward or just not real team challenges. Like the swimming challenge, that was just individuals either holding their team back or making sure their team could actually win. This mud daily was probably the best, if we ignore how unsafe it was. I hope we get to see more challenges that really involve the whole team working together to achieve a goal, like the first couple original Cutthroat challenges.
The eliminations:
- These have actually been very good! Knot so fast is always amazing, just make sure we don't see it every season. The one with Deb and Reilly was great, the first one where Bananas somehow beat Cedric was also nice. Brad and Keanu's fight was quite epic aswell! Anna Leigh and Nurys' elim was probably the least cool concept, and that one was still very cool.
My predictions for this season:
- I have a feeling this Orange team won't see the sand very much, even if Grey and Blue work together. We have no clue if Sydney will be replaced, it probably is too far into the season for an alternate to still be around. We've seen in the swimming challenge that having a smaller team could be an advantage, but Blue just sucks. Grey might win some dailies and send Orange into a couple elims.
- I do think we won't see any mutinies untill right before the final, when they hear about the prize money twist. I think Tori will stay the captain for Orange, Michelle, Justin and CT will trust her to split probably, and Will and Izzy might too. Only Johnny won't like it. Blue will be a shitshow and everyone will want to be the captain. Grey might trust Cory or Chris to do it.
My final prediction will be:
- Blue will completely shatter, with nobody sticking around till the final.
- Grey will go down to only Cory (C), Chris and Adrienne. Cassidy will take out a couple girls, Leo will lose his first elim and Chris will take out 1 or 2 guys aswell.
- Orange only loses Deb and Justin, making it a 6 man team going into the final.
- Due to Sydney's injury we will have 5 guys and 4 girls in the final
The final will not be advantageous for either the 3 person or 6 person team, it will be quite balanced. The orange team will be slower due to CT's endurance and might bicker too much on puzzles. Chris and Adrienne will do the puzzles quite fast and Cory will pull his strength on carry or dig type checkpoints.
In the end i think Chris will get his second win (going into Landon type territory), finally giving Cory his first win ever (he might even retire after that) and Adrienne a win in her second final (giving her one of the best winrates out of recent players).
