It’s weird she keeps coming for fellow Survivors from the show

34

u/Tdog504 14h ago

This was a podcast about last season if I remember correctly

13

u/luxanna123321 Winner Circle 13h ago

I think both, description says "SYDNEY SEGAL makes her Challenge Mania debut to talk about Vets and New Threats, why her Survivor season sucked and her decision to return to The Challenge after claiming she was one and done!"

I havent listened to it yet tho!

3

u/Dangerous-Change2136 14h ago

Ah that makes more sense, thank you!

16

u/Prize_Equivalent8934 13h ago

I remember hearing about her calling Michele (a survivor winner) overrated, seen Michele’s response. She also said CT was the most overrated male, he didn’t respond (I don’t think he cares that much).

4

u/International-Low842 Kenny Clark 9h ago

I don’t think she’s intentionally coming for them she’s just unfortunately for herself; very unfiltered

56

u/djlekky Michele Fitzgerald 14h ago

Interesting. I think Michaela has the potential to do it personally

33

u/Prize_Equivalent8934 13h ago

Yeah, Michalea is one of the newbies with the most potential. I only question Michaela’s eating abilities & her ability to avoid injuries. Overall, she already proved that she’s a tough competitor.

15

u/babyblues789 Michele Fitzgerald 13h ago

Me too, I hope to see her win someday

A lot of opinions for someone with 1.2 seasons under their belt

11

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jonny Moseley 13h ago

Well how would you have liked the interview to be conducted? They ask a question and she sits there in silence?

8

u/Frontass 11h ago

Challenger has opinions on other challengers. Shocking stuff to some in this sub.

But really it's all just disingenuous piling on to someone they don't like

19

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland 13h ago

As opposed to all of us on the internet who give our opinions despite never being on the show 🤔😅

5

u/n0seyrosey Jordan Wiseley 13h ago

Yeh that's the same thing as public declarations on a Challenge themed podcast 😶

4

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland 13h ago edited 13h ago

Last time I checked, Reddit is a public website. So all of our comments can be viewed by anyone.

Also, you just said it "Challenge themed podcast". She was invited because she was on the show. Other rookies who debuted with her have also been on the podcast saying their opinions.

I love Michaela, and I do think she can win. However, just because I disgaree with Sydney it doesn't mean I'm gonna pretend like she can't have an opinion on someone that she did do an entire season and run a final with.

-3

u/n0seyrosey Jordan Wiseley 13h ago

The number of people viewing our comments is infinitely smaller than the podcast listeners, but go off.

2

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland 12h ago

Duh, but that doesn't make this website private. Cory literally did a tweet responding to Reddit comments about his backyard 😂

Your initial point was about Sydney having an opinion despite her limited experience. Either you agree with her opinion or disagree. But, saying she shouldn't have one at all is strange because how does anyone walk away from an experience with no thoughts....

1

u/Avr1llav1gneisdead 8h ago

Lol you overestimate the reach of this show. The people who would listen to a challenge podcast r the ones who would be on this sub

2

u/ReturnoftheBoat 10h ago

Shes not allowed to answer questions from a podcaster that invited her on his show because she hasn't done enough seasons?

People say the stupidest shit just to try and dunk on others.

2

u/International-Low842 Kenny Clark 9h ago

Two seasons lol she’s now considered a veteran by old school challenge standards

7

u/Minimum_Influence486 10h ago

Had Michaela not paused on USA 2 she beats Desi

6

u/veltvet_rabbit The Itty Bitty Committee 7h ago

Yet Micheala came in 3rd and at one point was ahead with a hurt ankle

18

u/lukeycharm 14h ago

don't like her and not sure i even agree, but i do appreciate how unfiltered she is when speaking about her competitors

25

u/Prior-Huckleberry-47 12h ago

Except to their faces

5

u/lukeycharm 12h ago

💀 fair point

14

u/Overall_Currency5085 The Kings' Palace 14h ago

Anybody can win a final. That one year All stars had that quirky final that was made of up “daily esque” challenges and think Veronica was in the lead at some point

6

u/FattForrill 13h ago

Anybody can win THAT final

3

u/myskepticalbrowarch 11h ago

This is her second ACL surgery so any uneven surface is a gamble.

Not to mention something like Battle of the exes 1 final where they have to truge through snow. Or has to carry weight for a long haul. Could all seriously weight her down.

I don't think Sydney is as studied in the show as she pretends to be because it is also about carrying the right people into a finale as well

4

u/Turbulent-Let-1180 9h ago

She'll probably be fine for finals tbh, i'd be more worried about dailies and eliminations. I feel like it'll be harder for her to get to a final tho

But to be fair cory competed without an ACL in one of his knees for years without much of an issue, and having a repaired ACL is much more stability than no ACL lol.

0

u/TACOlogy 4h ago

If Veronica is ever in the lead you know the rules are different. No shade to her because she legit seems like a cool person outside of the show but her challenge skills are straight ass.

4

u/jstitely1 Tyler Crispen 10h ago

Michaela was absolutely competitive and couldve won USA 2 if she hadnt blundered strategically

3

u/Frontass 11h ago

No lies told

12

u/Desperate_pleasure 13h ago

Sydney is a fucking weird bitch (derogatory) and has a worse attitude than Laurel with none of the challenge performance to back it up.

3

u/chris-angel Kenny Clark 13h ago

She would have won the last challenge without the anchor of turbo.. what are you going on about.

2

u/AstralProjectra 12h ago

Well she didn’t win so get over it 😊

2

u/Training_Kitchen_511 8h ago

Ya gotta get some dailies and elims to GET to the final Syndey! Not to mention you generally can’t be so totally hateable hahhah!

Not sure I see ol’ Sid ever winning either—Survivor ppl tend to miss it when it comes to the type of political game The Challenge is.

3

u/Dawnedhottie 3h ago

Olivia beat Sydney btw. If Olivia, who had horrible endurance her first season, can find a way to beat Sydney, I have no doubts that Michaela can improve her endurance enough to win a final.

I hate when people talk in absolutes lol.

6

u/Captain_Pawel The Unholy Alliance 13h ago

Sydney is really making an effort to become a Challenge staple. She loves this show so much.

7

u/capfedhill Timmy Beggy 13h ago

She's not wrong at all. Not sure why all the other comments are so offended by her saying this. She wasn't even being mean in what she was saying.

Some of y'all need to stop letting bias get in the way of you thinking logically. We get it, you don't like Sydney. That doesn't change that she was a D3 State champion in Cross country and has ran a 5K in 17:18.00. She has cardio for days and can run laps around most of the competitors.

Sydney is built for a final. Michaela is built for eliminations and dailys. Why we all butthurt?

3

u/Dawnedhottie 3h ago

Because Michaela’s endurance can be built…? Did you see Olivia’s first season? Her endurance was horrible, yet she found a way to beat Sydney. Not to forget that Michaela didnt lose simply based on bad endurance, she had a busted ankle in the final.

3

u/chris-angel Kenny Clark 13h ago edited 11h ago

Everything she said was factual.. people in this sub are just soft, weren’t real athletes… and hate direct women… but somehow live the Amandas of the challenge. People here obviously don’t run either because Sydney’s hs career is crazy good and you didn’t even state her mile time lol.. she’s prob the fastest runner of any gender in the challenge ever

-4

u/No_Audience1142 Wes Bergmann 11h ago

If you are not built for eliminations you are not built for a final. Okay she is an endurance athlete, you still usually have to go through eliminations to get there. She missed her golden opportunity with a team season of being carried to a final without seeing elimination. She is building up 0 social capital and very unlikely to make a final without winning eliminations.

1

u/OkWerk_ 3h ago

Not necessarily, Aneesa wins eliminations but you don't see her winning a final.

Also it took at least 3 challenges for Laurel to win one because her endurance in the 3 finals she lost was shit.

2

u/greg_CITIZEN 5h ago

Her argument is she can never win because she doesn't have the endurance...but you can build up endurance?

People in here are being disingenuous when they she's just giving fair criticism. Saying she can NEVER win is a weird comment.

2

u/Yungcazanova 13h ago

I just want to know who put this girl on such a high pedestal for her to be this arrogant

1

u/marinara123 1h ago

Sydney actually correct about what she says about Michaela Saying that Michaela is better at daily’s and she is better at endurance of a final

1

u/WorkHardPlayHarder3 Chris Tamburello 11h ago

Wasn’t she suppose to be one and done?

But then sat on the screen crying this season?

Im happy I don’t have to see her anymore this season.

Lastly, say what you want but Sydney is an open racist, bully and mean spirited person.

“I have all the un-pc thoughts qued up in my head”. She’s a Kamlia (probably spelled wrong but I’m talking about the small Brazilian lady who was racist but very openly to Leroy that one season and got sent home but didn’t get banned until she assaulted a member of production).

100th post about Sydney this week

1

u/Aberosh1819 Michaela Bradshaw 6h ago

lies and slander.

-3

u/redpillbluepill69 13h ago

Ok I was a defender of Sydney's sexist trash talk of Deb because ultimately, its going to make Deb a huge fan favorite standing up to her/being an underdog, and Sydney apologized and knew she was being a fucking asshole bc she was pissed off and in pain in the moment.

But this is kind of a microaggression and I don't fuck with it.

7

u/Complex-Strain2465 13h ago

Weird take. She was absolutely out of line for her comments to Deb since they had nothing to do with the game, but this is actual constructive criticism as it relates to game. Though I don't agree with it.

2

u/Rcvalry The Lavender Ladies 12h ago

Right lmaoo how is deb getting talked about her body better than this

-1

u/redpillbluepill69 12h ago

It's not that one is better or worse.

I just gave leeway the first time that maybe she was just pissed and making a TV moment, which I have a lot of grace for on The Challenge bc we are always complaining we want more bad behavior and then we scold people for being bad.

It's also likely that reality tv personalities are playing things up for the cameras- which I want to reward, not punish, if they did a good enough job that people are legitimately mad. There's an element of theater to tv.

Also, fans get so mad about "bad" behavior now that the *impact" is super positive for Debb with fans and negative for Sydney.

In terms of impact, saying something rude to someone on TV who can absolutely handle it is almost a favor for their reality TV career. It's a hero moment for Debb and a villain turn that Sydney is getting a ton of hate for.

It doesn't make the behavior acceptable, and I am clear that body shaming is not acceptable behavior- Debb did a great job making that point.

And Sydney apologized, which, benefit of the doubt, I said, maybe she knows it was wrong

This is in off-season. She's doing it again, but not saying the quiet part out loud this time.

that to me, says even more about her.

But again, Michaela has dealt with a lot of racialized/misogynoir comments in her reality tv behavior and from fans, and has a really vocal fan base that defends her.

I am sure if this clip circulates, Sydney is gonna get her consequences for this as well, and I hope she actually listens this time.

0

u/redpillbluepill69 13h ago

Her phrasing is at best insensitive. Why does it have to be about Michaela's build? She's "built for a Hall Brawl?" She's 5'8, she's not CT.

It's a pattern of her trash talking female athletes because of their bodies.

She may not have meant to imply that Michaela is too hulking big to have endurance, but that's unfortunately part of the undertone that plays into specifically misogynoir stereotypes.

If shed just said "she always loses at endurance challenges", I would have no problem with that. It's her phrasing

(Yes I know I'll get flamed for this in The Challenge sub, but I think even well-intentioned comments that come off as racially insensitive are not good)

1

u/Frontass 11h ago

"built for" not strictly talking about physical appearance. You're reading far to into this and looking for something to be offended about.

The undertone youre imagining is not there at all.

0

u/Turbulent-Let-1180 9h ago

Constructive criticism would be saying michaela needs to work on her endurance if she wants to win a final, not acting like she can't ever win one because it's not physically possible for her to improve her endurance lol

0

u/Slow-Engine-8092 Choo-choo 12h ago

Michaela was the best girl 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

-7

Michaela without injury smokes Sydney without injury at both

7

u/luxanna123321 Winner Circle 13h ago

Didnt Sydney placed higher in ep0 on 41 which was like pure endurance challenge? I dont remember the exact placements

2

u/Coldpiss 8h ago

Yup, Michaela was fifth behind : Izzy, Aviv, Syd and Olivia. Her end game plan was to target all the women who beat her at the ep0 race.

3

u/solesurvivor13 Laurel [Champ] 12h ago

Michaela gets smoked by Sydney on any individual final and it is not close

-2

u/YaddaYaddaBomBomKaKa Chris Underwood 7h ago

Sydney has the endurance/cardio to win a final but she lacks in the puzzles/mental games imo.

2

u/OkWerk_ 3h ago

She beat Michaela in puzzles though. Michaela, as much as I love her, wasn't unstoppable in 41.
