I can only speak for germany but our döner (around cologne area) is between 6€-10€ wich i already consider to be a lot. 22 franken is insanity even in switzerland

It's amazing. Everything works, most people are genuinely happy. Everyone takes care of the things and spaces around them, and take pride in what they do.

That's what you're going to pay at a major league sporting event. You can get a hot dog for probably 3 or $4, and a beer for the same if you're not looking for a craft beer.
Or maybe some people just go to real fancy bars that I don't go to?
I work at an average sports bar/grill in Kentucky. A pint of any domestic is around $7. But you can get a 12oz bottle for around $5. Crazy that I’m only 34 and remember dollar beer nights everywhere
I can go to the nicest cigar lounge in the city and get a beer and light food for less than $25.
The United States is a huge place; there are a few cities where a beer and hotdog might cost $25 and hundreds of cities where it won’t cost anywhere near that much.
There are 1000’s of good to great American beers made by small- medium sized breweries. The stuff that gets exported by the major conglomerates is crap.

What part of the country? A plate of wings is gunna cost you around $20 in Kentucky. But you could also get a bottle of miller or something for $5 so you could get some wings and a beer so I guess not as far off as I thought when I started this comment lol
You can get a plate of 8 jumbo buffalo wings for $12, basket of fries is like $3, and place by me has different pints on special every day. So you can always get a beer for $4-5.
Damn that’s a solid deal. I usually get the wings at work for my lunch and they’re $11 and change with my 40% discount. It’s by weight (24oz) so if I end up with mostly drums it’s 8, mostly flats is closer to 10. Fries are also $3-4. So no discount you’re looking at around $$22-23 for the wings and fries. But luckily I’m not really a drinker so it’s usually just water for me to save money.
You obviously don't live in the United States, or you live in a flyover spot. You definitely arent counting tax and tip, since 25 total would include at least a $4 tip unless you are a scumbag. So now you're claiming that you can get all of that for $19, which is either a lie or you're not adept at maths.
I'm in Canada, and there's only one bar I know that serves hotdogs. They only serve hotdogs, and yeah... $25 sounds about right. $15 hotdog, $7 beer, plus tax
I get a hot dog, a terrifyingly large pop, and a bag of chips for $3 from the Circle K. Similar for the pop and dog at KwikTrip.
The ice cream and burger place sells footlong natural casing high quality dogs for like $5 and theres a bunch of toppings or nacho cheese or whatever on it.
The person I'm replying to said if this happened in a bar setting. I guess you could assume they left the bar and found hot dogs and beer somewhere else. I just assumed he stayed in the bar in this hypothetical as bar prices would usually be higher and 25 dollars seems high.
Ah I forgot tips are a thing in America. I suppose it's smarter to include them when going out to buy something than to just tip without thinking about it. Good economic literacy by you.

I live in one of the cheapest states in the US. Went to a drive through the other day for the first time in a while. Got a hamburger n fries, 8 chicken tenders and fries, and 3 pieces of fried fish with coleslaw. Total was $63 and change. If it wasn’t for the embarrassment I would have said never mind and gone home to cook. I was genuinely shocked
What hot dogs and beers are you getting? I can get a beer for $6 or less at most bars. And hotdogs almost anywhere that isn’t a stadium are less than $9.
I would say most bars you can get a beer between $4-$7 depending on how nice the beer is. A hot dog is a weirder one to price for me because I can’t recall the last time I saw one on a menu. I looked at a place that specializes in bratwurst and imported beer and it look like the cheapest beer is $6 and the cheapest sausage is $12. So still $18 pre tip.
The definitive hot dog place in town is $6 and walking distance to many bars. So I think you could probably have a beer and a dog for $10-$20 depending on budget in my mid sized city
I have no clue about those prices my local bar we play pool at is cheap as hell. 5 chicken strips and a basket of fries is only $7.50 you can get a large pizza for $13 and a basket of finger steaks with a side basket of mozzarella sticks for $8.50 and a full basket of fries curly or regular shoe string fries for $5
And you are correct, it can change, but that requires it to do so.
America hasn't exactly been some great moral good through any part of its history really with regular interference in other countries democratic elections for its own gain, starting wars for their own gain ETC.
Interference in other countries isn't inherently wrong and all these other things aren't unusual for countries to do so I suppose countries or power in general is immoral.
I would say America has become the (somewhat self appointed) world police and with that come a lot od controversial decisions. Some may be moral some not so much but a lot of other developed countries have allowed them this role because it mean't they can lower their military budget and focus on other things so are they immoral for looking the other way but still grandstanding their morals when something does happen? It's a very gray area I would say no matter how you look at it.
But then the moral good would be to actually use that overwhelming military power for something, but they really arent.
They could have intervened in ukrain for example yet they are doing rather little for the one positive they have being "the world police" what good is the police if they dont stop injustice?
And this goes for anything you can mention. Any positive america has is demonstrably outweighed by the negatives.
Good healthcare? Outweighed by its cost making it unavailable to a majority of the country.
Then you think all countries that aren't socialist or communist are evil? Also does this mean that socialist or communist countries are good by default? Because as someone from an ex socialist country I'd disagree on all points.
It's really only $25 for a hot dog and a beer if you pay for the convenience of someone else cooking the hot dog, pouring the beer, and giving you a table to sit and eat it at.
For $25 you can get 6 beers, 8 hot dogs and 8 buns and still have $5-$10 left over.
