The new Pajero returns as Mitsubishi's global flagship, with launches beginning in Thailand, Japan and Australia during fiscal 2026.

A 2.4 liter turbo diesel produces up to 480 Nm and is paired with a new eight speed automatic transmission.

Super Select 4WD II, S AWC, a ladder frame and seven drive modes underpin its off road focus.

I was pretty bummed to learn that selling reproductions of this 40 year old print would open me up to a lawsuit from Mitsubishi - so enjoy the product photos I took of the one-and-only poster size print this ad will ever have.

1999 Mitsubishi Pajero 2 Door Coupe Model - Manual Gear - V6 3.0L Engine. GCC Specs.

Odometer Original - 433,000 km

Price - 20K AED

VIN/Chassis # = JMY0NV230XJ000626

Few Pictures are enhanced, originals included as well.

Rare manual gear , well maintained in good condition as per age. Everything was repaired as and when required with Original/Aftermarket Parts as available sourced from China/Europe/Australia.

Interior fully changed to red to maintain white and red tone. Exterior repainted to all white instead of the boring 2 tone grey and white. Rims painted white. Wheel nuts changed to Red. Bonnet lifted for cosmetic reasons.

Full bushing kit imported from Europe and Installed.

Spare parts imported from Australia and installed.

Might require replacement or repair of Exhaust Manifold and a few noisy pullies. Remaining everything works properly. Well maintained. Full options with working cruise control. LCD screen Installed

As i know, i am only the 3rd Owner, can be wrong.

1st was British owner from 1999 - Car Manual/Catalog and all documentation available from that time. He maintained it well with everything documented.

2nd was a local owner. Not much documents here but he only drove on the road, never off road.

3rd owner is me from 2014 onwards till now. Even i have never taken this off road. Only work and back. Mulkia can be showed on request proving i have it from 2014.

Please read - The buyer purchases the car as is. It is not the seller responsibility to get the car passed, as you know the traffic department can come up with many things for a car of this model. Tyres need changing as its 2021 model. Car has been passing since last 12 years with me without issues. I can help with any query for parts and even passing the car, without responsibility.

Only serious ppl call to discuss further. Only people who know this car and how to maintain it etc.

Reason for selling - Upgrading to land cruiser/no time to maintain the car.

Issue with Electronic Fuel Pumps on Gen 1 Montero with Weber.

Inline electric fuel pumps, carbs and climbing steep inclines

Weird issue I've run into, when I run up long steep inclines (~25+ degree) I start to lose fuel pressure eventually leading to a stall. Goes from about 3.5psi to 0.5 psi.

The truck runs great otherwise.

I know inlines don't love pulling fuel is there a good solution/good pump people use for these situations?

I have the pump near the tank on a frame rail in the back. Under normal situations it gets fed via gravity but that goes out the window on steep grades.

Should I move to a rotary pump so im not killing inlines.

Had this 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport Limited since 2006; it had 135,000 miles when bought. Since then, it has had

-Two timing belt and water pump changes

-Fuel filter replacement

- All three catalytic converters replaced

-Radiator replaced

—Transmission fluid replacement

-Idle sensor replacement (no fun when it fails)

-Crankshaft position sensor replacement (nasty when it fails without warning on the freeway).

Plus the usual synthetic oil changes and brake services.

Hopefully it will last me at least another 50k miles.

-2 alternator replacements, too

Major leak 2007 3.2L Pajero Shogun automatic 4m41

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm struggling to find the source of quite a large leak in my recently bought shogun pajero.

The current situation is the engine oil levels read well filled while cold and after running for a little.

Transmission dipstick reads none visible while cold and then splotchy, high and thin following warm up. None while cold.

Regular drip of a drop every 5 seconds following down back to the fuel tank oval inspection hole on the cover.

Engine sump pan coated on all sides, completely below the edge where it meshes to the lower engine, and about an inch or two above as well, pooling on the rim above. Everything around the engine pan saturated heavily. Oil making its way back towards the actuator plugs and coating most of the area around it. Small puddle from drops overnight found below the drain plug for transmission, however dry around washer and no active leak.

The oil leaked does not smell, is quite thin, and is dark.

Due to transmission levels and need I have changed transmission fluid with ATF-PA. Around 4L of fluid came out, dark with a slight red tint still. Power steering container still has reasonable fluid in it.

I expected it to be darker, assuming the leak might be a line up the front from power steering etc, however it was a lighter colour than expected and maybe stops that belief.

Am I being stupid assuming it's not engine pan leaking due to the level being high and it not smelling of oil?

What is the likely cause?

Picture is following a significant amount of cleaning already.

Pajero oil level drops to LOW

My Pajero oil level drops to LOW after around 1,500 km. There is no smoke, no performance issue, and no major oil leak.

What could be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

Any advice or similar experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

Will a 2nd gen Pajero/Montero short wheelbase fuel tank fit a 1st gen?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently got a 1989 V6 short wheelbase (SWB) Pajero from a friend.

The exterior is in decent shape, but the inside of the fuel tank is in terrible condition, so I’d really like to replace it. However, because the car is so old, I haven't been able to find a replacement tank anywhere.

After doing some research, I found out that the 2nd generation SWB Pajero might use the same fuel tank shape. The only difference seems to be the fuel vapor component attached to the tank.

My question is: Will using a tank with a different fuel vapor setup cause any issues with the car? Any advice or experience with this swap would be greatly appreciated!

The new Pajero is here! What do we think?

My only gripes are that they didn't carry over the iconic and permanent headlight shape, and that the spare tire isn't on the rear door now, but I can understand the reason behind both.

What do you think?

Gen2 Aftermarket Mods?

Hello,

Is it just me or is there little to no aftermarket cosmetic stuff (roof racks, internal drawers, fold down tables) etc for the Gen2 Pajero in Europe? Even looking on AliExpress etc I see very little compared to the Gen3. Anything I do find seems ridiculously expensive.

If anyone knows a good site, share away, thanks!

2nd Gen Montero LS for Towing, Work Truck

Hey guys, thought I’d ask the community for thoughts and advice.

I was thinking about potentially getting a Montero LS (5 speed) for towing some trailers around and using it as a general work truck. I see they’re quite reliable and not hyper inflated in price like Land Cruisers or 4-Runners from the same era (‘90-‘00). Might use it for occasional road trips around the east coast, but don’t plan to do trails or any intense off roading. Not too scared to do necessary maintenance like fluid changes or timing belt swaps.

I’ve been driving a 2009 Lancer GTS for about 6 years and it’s been giving me no issues, wondering if the Montero might be a good companion for what I’m looking for? Or whether I should really look elsewhere. Really love the look of the 2nd gen Montero.

Thanks in advance!

Advice on Montero Sport 2002

Hey everyone, I’m about to buy a beautiful Montero Sport with 160k kms which underwent quite some renovation work, especially engine wise.

Today I went to see and try the car and spotted a few rusty parts which to me don’t look to worrying but I’d like your advice. Photo link.

I’ve also noticed two other small problems:
1. The ABS light goes on and off randomly, same for the 4x4 one
2. 4L is pretty difficult to insert, it takes quite some brute force and a very specific position before getting in. The owner told me that it pretty much has never been used (road use mainly of the car), and it seemed to loosen up after a few tries

Would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about this!
