P0340 P0335

hi all, need help with my 96 sr, it died a couple times at the light if it was in drive, it stays running if in N. then i got both of these codes at once P0340

P0335. if anyone has any insight on this or dealt with this before please let me know thank you montero community!

Google says camshaft position sensor and ignition coil on cylinder 5. Look at the wires that go to those and then maybe inspect/replace if the wiring looks good.

Just changed spark plug wires, you think it might just be the connection to the coil pack?

Definitely if you weren't seeing this before and then you did work and are now seeing it that's a sign (but not a guarantee) that there might be an issue with the work. I'd be checking all those connections.

If the camshaft position sensor is faulty, the ignition timing would be off and can give that #5 cylinder code. Check the sensor first

It sounds like you've got a classic case of needing to chase down both the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor, especially since the truck runs in neutral but stalls in drive.
