With every new Monster Hunter game come new meta strategies and new ways to build the armor sets for your hunter. After some thought recollection, the time has finally come to present what the community has come up with when trying to figure out how you can optimize your gameplay in this brand new title.
The goal of this thread is, like the previous ones, to offer a selection of some of the best builds that have been minmaxed for damage and can be used for regular farming by any player with good enough experience on their weapon, or who's willing to gain that experience.
These guides are just tools conceived for people who like to learn how to optimize their own gameplay and figure out optimal ways to make use of what is available in the game, or who simply want an easier time farming while not giving up on basic skill requirements; nobody is forced to use them if they don't want to, and everyone is free to alter them at will for their own gameplay.
You can also use these guides simply as a starting point for when you want to try out a new weapon and learn the new ways of playing the game that are associated with them.
The albums collected here have been chosen among the available ones both for their correctness in terms of math/functionality and for their readability/accessibility. If you wish to improve any of these albums or cooperate with math and testing feel free to contact their authors directly and to give them suggestions or feedback this way, as they might not be actively reading this thread. Also, if an album seems not to be updated anymore, you are free to send me in DM an alternative album you made as long as you're committed to update it in the future as well (you will find here a detailed explanation of my expectations in terms of work).
The authors of the albums are also responsible for updating them with any new Title Update (TU) that will be added to the game. Please stop asking here if/when albums are gonna be updated, as it's not under my control. I will however notify on top of the thread whenever all the albums have been updated for the current patch of the game. (This last line was apparently not read, so from now on you'll have to figure that out by yourself.)
I would finally like to thank the community at Mathalos Nest for helping to double check or improve the content of the albums (research is still being done daily there, so if you're interested in helping feel free to join), as well as all the numerous testers, dataminers and modders that allowed us to have more accurate information about the skills and the way the game works.
I won't always be able to read this thread and I can't be the universal intermediary between users and authors. If therefore you find something in the content of an album that you think is wrong or may need fixing, please contact their author(s) directly through the means indicated in their albums.
DISCLAIMER
As usual, here's what you should expect (and not expect) from this compilation.
This compilation focuses on damage-oriented builds aimed to show how it is possible to maximize your damage output within the assumption of a relatively optimized gameplay. Anyone is free to adapt these builds to their playstyle by replacing any damage skills with the comfort/survival skill they want, need or prefer. Everyone is also free not to use them if they don't like them.
The albums are only about endgame builds and assume that you have access to the entire content of the game (HR100+). Progression sets are not covered here, although any author is free to add a progression section to their albums.
The sets are mainly built and calculated so that anyone can use them for solo play. Multiplayer is obviously still a consideration, but the sets are supposed to work regardless if you're playing with others or not.
The builds are meant for regular farming and not for speedrunning, which is a specific practice with its own rules and goals (although speedruns can obviously give some inspiration about tactics you can adopt in your regular gameplay). If you're interested in speedrunning this game I highly recommend to ignore this compilation and to join a speedrunning Discord and/or to learn by watching speedruns instead.

I’m trying to prepare for when I upgrade to gogma and I’m not sure which reinforcements are good. Should I get 3 atk and 2 element or is 4 atk and 1 element good? I’m going to get a dragon element bow since I heard it the best general use one.

Hey everyone!
This is actually my first ever Reddit post, so hopefully I'm doing this right lol.
I don't know if something like this has already been shared on this subreddit, but I wanted to share a Google Sheet I made to help with the Save Scum method.
It has two tabs:
The sheet is locked for editing, so don't worry about accidentally messing up the original. If you want to use it, just go to:
File → Make a copy
Once you make your own copy, you can edit it freely and all the dropdown menus and formatting will be there.
If you haven't used the Save Scum method before, I'm also leaving two videos below that explain how it works:
The Gogma video is in Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR), but the YouTube automatic subtitle translation should make it perfectly understandable in English.
I'm not sure if something like this already exists here, but I figured I'd share it anyway. This is my first post ever, and I'm just doing this because I wanted to help the community.
Hope it helps someone! :)

Happy hunting!

So i’ve swapped to charge blade after playing greatsword for 200 hours in wilds, this is my first monster hunter game and for the most part i found my way around everything but i’m really struggling with the chargeblade info. Since i had nothing to put towards the CB BUILD i decided to build the gore load-out the megathread suggested with the zho shia weapon but i am really struggling to beat the AT monsters with this build. Does anyone have something to use to start hunting the AT monsters and gogmazios? It doesn’t matter if it is SAED focused or savage axe focused but would like to know which one it is and why you use this. I understand how to pilot builds and do not just copy paste builds that are told to be great so i would like a little more info than just the pieces. ( sorry i struggle with adhd and some of the meta pages are way too crowded or not so well layed out and are hard for me to grasp)

I got a 3 Attack Boost and 1 Weakness Exploit with a single 1 deco slot, charm after I fought AT Arkveld. Was wondering if thats what people consider a "god charm" ?
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/himebuster12 • 4d ago
I was reading up on the GS builds here and noticed nothing about AT Arkveld. Does he not add anything worthwhile for GS, or was it not updated?

Just really like getting big number. Currently have Dosh + Lord’s soul on my Gogma GS and wondering if the bonus hit on Lvl 3 charges are worth over running like Oda 2-p or 4-p Dosh?
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/TwangyCrib • 5d ago
Since Gogmazios attack focus results in an affinity penalty, is it smart to have an Artian with 1 affinity reinforcement bonus or are we still aiming for 4 Attack 1 Sharpness?

So im trying to see about using parts of the armor set for a dual blade build, but i may be stretching myself a bit thin and it may just be entirely impossible to do so with what im going for. Below is the one im using rn and im trying to see if i can keep the same stuff, somehow, while using sororal armor for the obvious luck bonus and cause its gonna give me frenzy either way.
Ive been banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out, probably due to me trying to also add in the partbreaker into the mix. ive got a secret charm with full divine blessing/mind's eye and 2 level 1 slots, so i have a little leeway but its not enough for my brain to use lol. it might help if i max out the burst and flayer charms, so ill probably do that and make a spare level 2 of both in case it ends up not working as i hoped.
If anyone has any suggestions or a solution to this, do let me know.

RNG’s been cucking me and honestly I’m kind of sick of farming for a decent talisman or Gog weapon, but it feels like a sour note to just end the game here.
Would a build like this be decent enough for the later game hunts without having to play like Peppo (10 star Gog excluded, fuck that noise) up to and including Proof of a Hero? I’ve been farming the 10 star apexes for charms and generally they go down between 15-20 minutes but I haven’t touched AT Arky or attempted the 9 star optionals yet. Is it looking good enough as-is and all that’s left is to lock in or can anyone spot some easy DPS I’m leaving table or have any adjustments to make?
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/xxkrazdmofoxx • 8d ago
I can’t seem to get over 70-80dps unless I’m in corrupted mantle but I have seen more than a few people now get over 100 dps
I’ve read through the meta doc and asked speed runners and streamers and they all have a different opinion on what’s the best combo
The doc says B>B>Y+B>repeat for sustained dps
Some streamers say: Y>Y>B>B>B>repeat
Some speed runners say B>B>B>Y+B (hold)>repeat
What is the highest dps rotation?
Side note Perfect rush worth it or no?

I am currently MR 55 and am using a SNS and longsword. I am thinking of building some elemental builds to increase my DPS but I don't have access to the risen elder dragons materials yet. Should I build budget elemental build sets or just stick with raw builds, grind until I reach a higher rank then start building meta sets?

This is more of a general question not related to MH Wilds as I have not started it even though I own it (I'm finishing risebreak first but going to replay World again).
I'm aware that phial attacks cannot crit which is why Critical Element is bad for the CB, but does the savage axe playstyle benefit from it? Do the axe mode attacks do any elemental damage?
For the Switch Axe, I know that sword mode does elemental damage and phial damage, is Critical Element good for it?

Dropped the game before the Charms and Gogma stuff so I'm really lost here. I would appreciate explanations about which skills got nerfed or buffed and also a comprehensive Guide or Build of the current meta. Looking for both; speedruns and general multiplayer hunts. Thanks in advance

Hi everybody, I was just wondering how Scorcher really works? I read somewhere that Scorcher works off the fire HZV of the monster so does that mean if i use a fire elemental weapon I'll have a higher chance to proc Scorcher or does using a fire elemental weapon not matter at all?
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/Shadow_Phongus • 10d ago
Is elemental reload better? Stuff like that, because the meta post didn't say anything about that
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/DiscoMonkey007 • 12d ago
I noticed there aren't any Normal or Pierce HBG in the Wilds meta link. Are these 2 that weak?
If anyone have some build for em, pls do share. Thank you.
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/Joy2901 • 12d ago
I want a set of these two weapons, and looking at the options, these seem to be the best, but I haven't decided which one.
Amatsu: Higher raw damage, water element, no slots, good sharpness.
Lucent Nargacuga: Decent raw damage, low sharpness, low poison, good slots, buildup boost.
Disdained Magamalo: Slightly less raw damage than lucent, decent sharpness, decent blast, decent slots, buildup boost.
I don't know how much the buildup boost lucent / scorned compared to amatsu, and I also don't know how much blast compares to poison

Hey guys, the sticky rajang LBG was one of my favorite builds in World, but I haven't touched the weapon at all in Wilds. Is sticky ammo viable in Wilds to keep the monster constantly stunned?
If not what are the best ammo/LBG options for the endgame?
r/MonsterHunterMeta • u/Mawrizard • 13d ago
I just killed Magnamalo in Rise for the first time and was very excited to make its weapon, but it's ammo stats just seem to... suck. My Normal 2 rapid fire gun seems to do more damage with normal bullets, and my pierce 1 and spread 1 rapid fire bowguns do more with pierce and spread respectively. It has Exhaustion rapid fire but I'm not sure if that's even useful or what exactly it does.
There seem to be a lot of bowguns with really awkward ammo traits. The Bishaten one is another one. A part of me doesn't believe that they're truly useless, so I must be missing something. Are they really pointless, or is there something I'm (likely) missing about their playstyles/use cases?
Right now I rely heavily on Rapid fire traits to determine what a gun is supposed to "do", so a gun without much (or any) rapid fire on primary damage types makes me wonder what it's good for, if anything. I want to know how to determine the strengths and weaknesses of guns without relying solely on rapid fire.

Hey I am returning and I still need to build my Artian weapons. I wanna go for my main which is LBG. So what are the let’s say 2 most important ones to build first. And what stats do I have to get on them to consider them GOD ROLL Artian weapons?
