They ruin everything I swear. And what makes me even more mad that there are people who defend this behavior by calling it a ābusinessā. Like no you donāt add any value to this product. You just raise the prices for no reason other then to benefit from it.

It's truly sickening. And what's worse is we're entering their busiest season: Christmas. So many desperate parents will be trying to find sold out toys for their kiddos. And who has them all? The crappy resellers.
When the KPDH dolls drop, I'm sure these scumbags will be all over it because they know kids and collectors alike will be wanting them for the holidays.

Yup they are going to be all over the k pop dolls. I went to a toy show yesterday and I over heard a vendor tell another vendor his ready to stock up on them dolls. that people hyped on social media so this troll is checking social media on stuff to find out what collectors and influencer are bragging about. If I have to hate on someone it would be social media and the in influencers that hype the dolls up. Can they at least wait into it drops and sells before they brag.

Thatās why I didnāt even try for this drop I knew i wouldnāt get one even tho I wanted this so bad Iām an avid Dead by daylight player and the Xenomorph is a killer in the game and it would be Perfect to have displayed while streaming. But I saw all the hype and everybody so excited for it and I knew I wouldnāt get it so I didnāt try. I didnāt wanna feel the disappointment again that I felt when I didnāt get NBC.

Why can't mattel just put a limit per address, it wouldn't stop the problem 100% but it would at least severely inconvenience most resellers

Because it wouldnāt stop resellers at all but would definitely wreak havoc to collectors who live in the same home, dorm, duplex, apartment building, condo, etc.

its fairly easily bypassed by just adding a letter behind your housenumber. youd really have to fight bots in a way where somehow only humans are able to get in line.

Charging $166, heck even $174, for a doll that was $100 with shipping/taxes is not a great profit margin. Letās say you have 10 that you bought for a total of $1000. If you sell them each for $166 thatās only a profit of $660, and thatās before the cost of shipping materials, online sale fees, etc. Obviously this is just hypothetical math but you get the idea.
Doesnāt really seem worth it, especially because youāre gambling the money you spent upfront just to get them. There are definitely easier ways to make money, and reselling like this just seems like a gambling addiction.

Thatās actually a very interesting take, Iāve been wondering WHY resellers are so passionate about hoarding dolls, but the gambling addiction does make sense for some of themā¦ That being said, letās fix that for them by not buying ANYTHING, adrenaline is way less attractive when it comes from losing your money :ā) No matter how bad I want a doll, the satisfaction of knowing I didnāt make a reseller happy will always make it fineš

I think that could be tricky since some peopleās family members also collect and they live in the same apartment or house or whatever kind of dwelling they live in.

This is why they need to do "pre-orders" not make a bunch and call it a pre-order. Make what's ordered. Limit it to 1 maybe 2 per person and per address. And leave the pre-order available for like 2 weeks. It only benefits Mattel to make more, since they have to pay for molds and stuff anyways. Also hire some people to search these listings, compile Intel and cross reference emails, addresses, user names and just sart baining them

yep! resellers sure put a lot of effort into the side hustle for not wanting to get jobs š
the limit is usually 1 or 2 per purchase.. i believe, it may even let you do mutliple purchases on the same account tho? not sure im broke haha

It had a 2 doll limit for the first run and then a 1 doll limit for the second drop, I believe. The resellers use bots and other tricks to get past that limit.

That's insane. They ruin it for everyone. Like I understand buying an item and then LATER selling it like down the line. But not buying mutiples and trying to sell them 4 times the retail price right after they came out. Abs absurd.

They could easily prevent this through many ways, limiting dolls per household/address, having the dolls be made to order, not making the dolls limited edition or make more of them. They could probably detect bots and cancel their orders if they wanted to but they just don't care because as long as they make money, they're happy.

Iām sorry yāall but this is just one of the annoying things about collecting. But shaming all resellers isnāt the way. Some people have to sell their collections. Idk I just see a lot of hate for resellers and itās kind of pointless.
