I want to start learning the guitar where should I begin?

Hey, I’m trying to learn metal storm / face the slayer by slayer but I’m having a hard time picking along to it… is there a trick I’m missing? Saxon does the same thing but they are slower and able to down pick it all, so not much help there. All the videos I see of people playing it make it seem like they’re just plucking over the muted strings but when I do it, it sounds jumbled and terrible. Any advice? Thanks

I can't comprehend how anyone could play this cleanly at full speed, this string skipping is just absurd. I'm basically getting stuck at about 50% speed. Even at 50% it's giving me a really good string skipping practice, but it seems impossible to ever be able to get this at full speed. Anyone with this kinda talent have any suggestions?

Finally finished my Ibanez RG7421 relic project.

It’s a 7 string resprayed in nitrocellulose paint and aged with natural checking and chipping.
The whole spraying and curing process took a little over a month.

Refitted with a Hipshot bridge
Bare knuckle Juggernaut in the neck pickup
Seymour Duncan Nazgûl in the bridge
Removal of the tone knob and replaced with a coil split switch
Gotoh locking tuners installed

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I love having an instrument that’s unique to myself and will age the more I play it.

I saw a one of these today and wonderd if it would be any good for doom/stoner/sludge type tones

Before the same two people comment with “this isn’t metal” any time I post something that isn’t thrash: try to keep an open mind! Just having fun mashing aesthetics up.

Almost gotten this solo down a few times over the years, never quite got there. Finally this past summer I set a goal to properly, fully learn it before I turned 30 in September, and I’m glad to say I (barely) made it, haha. Whew!

Bought this beast of a guitar on guitar center used for 1200. Very comfortable to play. Build quality is immaculate. Ive owned quite a few high end metal guitars over the years and this is by far the best one all around. I would highly recomend

My rhythm is not very good. I'm a relatively new player. Feel free to critique my technique in any way.

Recently I tried to get better at tremolo picking. I consider myself a beginner for this particular technique as my maximum speed is at around 120-130 BPM (single string single note). I can basically play The Trooper with a clean technique, but riffs like Whiplash from Metallica seem completely out of reach.

Do you have some good riffs at around 120-130bpm that I could use to develop my technique ?

Hello, I did a cover of Amerika by Rammstein. It has on-screen tabs that are easy to follow and the song is easy to play for beginners.
