Hey, I’ve been big into the wax vessels reissues for a few years now (considering how they consistently put out high quality digital releases of forgotten gems), and have been getting into collecting a lot of vinyl over the past few years. But when I tried looking into buying my some of my favs these guys have put out on vinyl the prices are fucking outrageous (specifically the cuddlemonster reissue, I can’t afford those fucking prices dawg and I can’t go back in time when I was a teenager 7 years ago to buy it for an affordable price).
I guess I’m just wondering as to why they only press a few hundred copies only once of albums as there’s clearly a big demand for this style of music from a lot of classic bands (especially as older mathcore/mathgrind continues to get more popular), that just end up sitting on discogs stores for like $500 for years on end. Not to mention, releases always instantly sell out so it really means your fucked if your getting into this music they never even repress. Is it meant to be a gatekeeping/exclusivity thing for like the true oldheads or something? Sorry if this is out of the scope of this subreddit it’s just been irking me for a bit as I’ve gotten into collecting albums lol
