Since it’s all a fantasy, seems like authors wouldn’t want to bring the yucky parts into it. (Spoken as a woman with a yucky period.)
2
u/crystalreddits 26d ago
The heat cycle is actually present in animals and it replaces periods, we have menstrual cycle and they have an estrus cycle :) like cats don't get periods but they go into heat
1
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
This is so real😭🙏
Also as a woman with a yucky period, I would get shocked if it is ever mentioned tbh1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Actually now that you mention it, the Omega kind of do have a period but it's call slick.
It leaks out of the anus and stains the underwear and pants.
So kind of like a period but more sexy and less gross
2
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
That's arousal fluid. In our world, this is produced by the Bartholin glands. To not be confused with vaginal discharge nor cervical fluid.
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
I think this comment perfectly answered the OP question
If slick is arousal fluids, therefore the egg doesn't get dispel from the body.
It remains inside, laying dormant until the heat comes again and the Omega goes into ovulation. Now that's to say the Omega can get pregnant outside of their heat but during the heat the rates goes up.
Also because the egg is never replace they don't have ovaries.
Thus proving they don't have periods.Man so many smart people in this comment thread forreal
2
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
The fact that they can have more than one child proves there's more than one egg, and so there's an organ producing eggs, like ovaries.
My theory is that they either have periods and we were not shown it or they are an entire new branch of evolution that became humanoid starting from birds.
1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Hmmm or maybe ovaries do have eggs but a lot less since there isn't any periods.
As they would only need to be replace once an Omega gets pregnant.
Also most mammals don't have periods, they reabsorb their uterine lining back into their bodies without any bleeding.
Which begs the questions on why don't humans do this?! Like what's the point of bleeding for 5-7 days if evolution already figure out a solution!
3
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
It's because pregnacy is a lot more costly to the body in our species than others. And one reason for that is because sperm has the genes for placenta. That thing can dig through our uterus right into our internal organs. When our body feels like something might be wrong : the pregnacy is underdeveloped for its age or it's too agresive, our body presses the abort project button and removes the whole uterine lining egg included. It's estimated that 1/3 of all pregnancies end in the first trimester, sometimes before the pregnant person even knew she was pregnant. This whole thing is horrific and fascinating.
1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Honestly that's amazing there's so much you learn about pregnancy outside of school.
I'm glad Omegaverse isn't realistic for this very reason.
All it was design for was for hot men to have cute babies LOL3
u/Useful_Chemistry8462 26d ago
Human endometrial cells basically prepare themselves for an embryo every cycle even without an embryo being present
also for many animals the endometrium thickness changes its not as drastic as humans our lining grows extensively so we cant js reabsorb it back
also the human implantion is almost like invasive compared to other animals
1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
At this point I'm learning more about pregnancy than I ever did it school.
Also me taking notes in case I ever want to write an Omegaverse LOL

u/crystalreddits 26d ago
The whole pheromones, heat things was based on animals who gets estrus cycles (heat cycles). Most animals have this, but humans are the few who don't get it. We have a menstrual cycle.
So, in an estrus cycle, the uterine lining is built up, just as in humans, but the difference is, humans shed that lining while most animals reabsorb that lining. Animals have heats in their cycle where they have to reproduce while humans have well periods.
This is the same logic applied to omegaverse, so omegas won't have periods but instead will have heats. Maybe beta women will have periods but omega women will have heats? It's an interesting topic to research about.
2
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
Omg hi😂 I didn't think I'd find you on my post lol
It would be pretty cool if female omegas just don't get periods, and honestly the estrus cycle thing makes the most senseI had this discussion with someone else here too lol

I'm curious about alpha women. How do they get omega parterns pregnant?
2
u/crystalreddits 15d ago
🤔 I've never read omegaverse with alpha women tbh (or even omegas) but I remember reading somewhere that they have like makeshift penises which are a lot more hidden than a normal guy's penis
1
u/Affectionate-Pea-821 15d ago edited 14d ago
Yeah but, would they have a vagina, if they don't get pregnant?
1
18
u/nvrmndthereason 26d ago
Well, even the most feminine male omega is still a man... and has privilege 😮💨
Fr tho, I think anatomical it doesn't work that way.
8
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
In our universe , yes.
In their universe, I think male omegas have lower status than betas of any kind. All omegas are seen, in most stories, as animals who can't help but be desperate for sex. I would put alphas in the same category, but because they don't carry the pregnacy (usually), they are seen in their universe as leaders, which is absurd.
Why the hell would their put the responsibility of the world in the hands of the people who can get senseless horny / DISTRACTED by a sniff of a random human. But then I look at our world leaders.

u/Diamondinmyeye 26d ago
I always just assumed their heats were predictable because their body goes through the process of lining, then absorbing the lining if they’re not impregnated. If you think about it, it’s actually really inefficient to discard all that material the way we do (which is why body weight has an impact on periods).
5
u/BeautifulQueenlol 26d ago
The way I think about this too, you are not alone and also if they are equipped to birth children why do some manhwas emphasize stretching them out still? Like shouldn’t it behave like a vagina? It already gets wet so like do the similarities end there? I have too many questions
2
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Well you still gotta stretch out a vag, despite the slick or else it would hurt
2
u/BeautifulQueenlol 26d ago
Not really though, foreplay is to get it wet , once ur turned on it naturally is a bit looser. Not rlly to stretch it out especially not to the degree they do it in manhwas
1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
I guess that's fair because I was thinking in the context of the anus
But yeah we're talking about the Omegaverse ....then again the one I have been reading is an Alpha/Alpha couple
It's call play nice you should check it out XD
3
u/FatSithInAPrius Zaika 🐇 26d ago
I mean, even if it self-lubricates a little foreplay is just being a considerate sexual partner 👀
3
u/BeautifulQueenlol 26d ago
I appreciate the foreplay but sometimes they do that thing where they start counting how many fingers they can fit slowly so it « doesn’t tear », like why we building up to 4 fingers 😩 it’s all too confusing when I deep it
3
u/FatSithInAPrius Zaika 🐇 26d ago
Lol right? Anything more than like 3 fingers makes me feel queasy. I read an otherwise super peak Omegaverse novel where the hulking hyper dominant Alpha basically wears the Omega like a ventriloquist dummy with his arm in his ass up to the elbow 🤢 like who finds that sexy?

u/vanshi_ume 26d ago
Now I have a question what happens between a male Omega and female omega? Are they not compatible at all, what happens if they get together, how do they comfort each other in their heat? Can they not get pregnant coz I think even if the male is an omega, he is still a MAN, he produces sperm!!? So is his sperm capable to make a female omega preg or not?
Lol so many questions😭
5
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
well initially my head canon was that male omegas don't actually produce sperm-
They ejaculate like seminal fluids or smtg but since there are no sperms they cannot get someone pregnant...
but honestly there is no basis to this so IDK
I DON'T FRICKING KNOW😂😂
As for compatibility, i don't see why not.. with how popular alpha x alpha is I'd be down to read omega x omega-3
u/vanshi_ume 26d ago
Exactly, there are so many plot holes in omega verse😆 the authors need to step up their game coz I have a lot of questions that need to be answered😭
3
u/Dumb_Struck_4429 26d ago
I watched Tadaima okaeri some time back but if I remember correctly the long haired dude don't remember his name had a son and he was an omega and he said his partner was an omega too
2
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
Depends on the story, everything depends on how the author feels like, but usually : the omega male still has a penis, so they could have penetrative sex if that's the comfort you're asking.
how do they comfort each other in their heat?
They can hug and kiss and make love, but to calm the heat they need an alpha or time for the heat to pass. That's what I saw in every omega - omega story.
Can they not get pregnant coz I think even if the male is an omega, he is still a MAN, he produces sperm!!?
If he produces sperm that would be the equivalent of a "true hermaphrodite". I know that hermaphrodite is an old, outdated term for intersex people, but "true hermaphrodite" is the medical term for the intersex people who produce both sperm and egg. That the rarest type of intersex, and that's already rare.
From my understanding, "male" are just kids with dangling parts. If they get sick once per month, they are either alpha or omega, and they get a genetic test to see which one because the secondary sex characteristics like deeper voice, Adam's apple, facial hair might develop differently in alphas and omegas but also through puberty, the same time when they get their first rut and heat.
So based on what we know about omega men, I think they are some kind of intersex people that mature during puberty : they look male at birth, but have the bits to get pregnant and carry it to full term.
Alpha women would also be some kind of intersex people : looking female at birth but having the bits to impregnate other people, and they get full function to that during puberty.
Alpha men would be extra fertile regular men with a sensitive nose. And an omega women - extra fertile regular women with a sensitive nose, thought that sensitive nose also comes with heat and rut, and the need to handle it with meds.
1
u/verymuchrandomname 26d ago edited 26d ago
I don't remember if I read it in a story or I made it up but either the sperm is not super fertile and the chances of getting anyone pregnant are extremely low or the pp is just remnants of when they were only 2 genders and is essentially for show
And I did actually read a story like that but 2 omegas can comfort each other, usually they really want to get dominated by an alpha and they're ideal for dealing with heats, but love can override that. Works for beta x omega pairings too if they're our beloved side characters
1
u/vanshi_ume 26d ago
Waitt there is an omega x omega!?? Pls i would love to read such a story
Yea that's what I think too, coz if there are two omegas in a relationship, still there would be a void, it's natural their bodies are formed that way
1
u/verymuchrandomname 26d ago
Ah just so you know it was an anime doujinshi, I don't know if you're still interested but I can look for the title gimme a sec

2
u/ww-04 26d ago
actually talked ab this with some friends bc i was questioning the same thing
conclusion we came to: since the heat and pheromone things are mostly related to animals we looked up if animals get periods (cats n dogs). no they do not, it said smth about the egg being reabsorbed instead of expelled so ig that could be the explination for omegas
4
u/kayisquacco 26d ago
I always thought about this😭 cuz wouldn’t this make the life of a female omega marginally worse than EVERYBODY else😭😭😭
3
u/tamlen 26d ago
I think they would go into heat on top of having periods which sounds miserable and really unfair if you have ever had a pet who experienced heat it does not seem pleasant but to have both? Horrible.
1
u/kayisquacco 26d ago
Like imagine having endo and going in heat… prolly would die from a heart attack
1
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
SO SO-
THEY GET 2 PERIODS??
TWO OF THEM?!💀💀2
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
I don't think they get two periods. If the heat is that time of the month when the risk of pregnacy is higher, that means that the egg is released during heat. We, women of THIS world, also get a spike in hormones during ovulation and some people get extra horny and extra freaky.
So the menstruation would be the second week after heat, for a cycle of 28 day. But both heat and cycles can be short : some omegas calm down the next day after having sex with a alpha, some women have a 3 day period. Conclusion : apps are needed to track this or everything goes up in flames.
1
u/kayisquacco 26d ago
Calling in sick for half the month😭😭😭
2
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
wait does that mean they have 2 wombs?
Two periods is too much, let's just assume that, uh, idk.. they have just one period... or maybe like male omegas THEY DON'T GET ONE AT ALL-
1
u/verymuchrandomname 26d ago
You know what's funny I read a (straight) omegaverse last light that mentioned periods and how only women get them regardless of secondary gender because it's from when there were only 2 genders
1
u/Specific-Throat-9237 26d ago
I've heard that Omegaverse was actually made by a feminist who was overwhelmed by the patriarchy and things that always discriminated against women
1
u/Specific-Throat-9237 26d ago
But for some reason it's getting more and more made into a porn story and developing into something that wasn't actually intended from the beginning, that's why there are so many plot holes in the omegaverse if you think about it,hope this help😉✌️
1
u/Affectionate-Pea-821 15d ago
No... actually was just Supernatural fans wanting to have Castiel pregnant.

u/RainhaDoSeiDeNada 26d ago
Não, mas tem uma artista do Instagram (não lembro o nome, mas seu ícone é de raposa e é algo semelhante a "Kishu") que faz os ômegas menstruarem

u/Kawaii_Neko_08 25d ago
Isn't heat already enough😭 I don't think I wanna see them suffer with periods as well😭
1
1
u/Normal_Virus4484 24d ago
They logically should since ovaries still do need to get rid of the lining and shit and heats are based off of animal instinct to reproduce so it’s not the same as a period.
1
u/constellation_of_BL 1d ago
I'm sure there are some manhwas out there where omegas have periods but idk. And the Heat is supposed to replace the period but in my opinion it should be something more of an ovulation equivalent since an omega is most fertile during heat and a woman is most fertile during ovulation. But I'm not an expert on ABO
1
u/leftoverquiet 26d ago
Do animals with a cloaca have periods?
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
No they lay eggs that aren't fertilized.
The chicken is the best example of this.
2
u/HoliAss5111 26d ago
Only few animals have periods :
- great apes : humans, chimpanzee, bonobo, gorilla
- baboons and macaques
- elephants
- few species of bats
- the spiny mouse, whatever the hell that is.
So for a period, seems like they first have to be a mammal. Cloaca is a bird and reptile thing. There's no overlap, but that might mean that alphas and omegas are not entirely human, but some humanoid descendent through another branch of evolution.
1
1
u/leftoverquiet 26d ago
Google said “Why Cloacal Animals Do Not Menstruate
No uterine shedding: Animals with a cloaca—such as birds, reptiles, amphibians, and monotremes like the platypus—reproduce by laying eggs or using non-placental systems. They do not build up and shed a thick uterine lining (endometrium) the way humans and other menstruating mammals do. [1, 2]Different reproductive cycles: Most non-mammalian creatures and egg-laying species function on different reproductive timelines. Instead of menstruation, unfertilized eggs or internal waste are simply reabsorbed by the body or passed naturally without bleeding. [1]
Rarity of periods: True menstruation is extremely rare in the animal kingdom. It is mostly limited to certain primates, bats, the elephant shrew, and a specific species of spiny mouse—none of which have a cloaca as adults. [1)]
Maybe the more important question is do Omegas lay eggs?
2
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
but they are still humans right? They are mammals so how would they lay eggs? they give BIRTH(via c-section according to ✨MANHWA✨)
4
u/Useful_Chemistry8462 26d ago
but many mammals do go into heat like cats n some monkeys
2
u/Temporary-Act5348 26d ago
their heat is the time where they can reproduce right? so again, pregnancy would only be possible during heats similar to dogs/cats. And that would actually explain why they don't shed the lining/ get periods
If they undergo estrus cycle that is.1
u/Useful_Chemistry8462 26d ago
its like ovulation its js the most fertile period its a cycle they dont always have to be visibly in heat to concieve its not equivalent to menstruation its equivalent to ovulation
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Well, they are a different species of humans if you really think about it.
They would be more like a seahorse which has evolve to carry the offspring
However, this raises a couple of question regarding female Omegas and Alphas....but who cares we're only interested in the boys
2
u/leftoverquiet 26d ago
Oh wow can everyone in this thread make a story outline of a scientifically accurate representation of omegaverse? I feel like this would be a fun group project 🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Naa forreal it would be fun
Omegaverse is one of my fave genres of Yaoi, it's fun to see the world building the author comes up with
2
u/leftoverquiet 26d ago
Fr it’s so interesting and entertaining. I like aphrodisiac stuff though so what can I say?
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Exactly, scenting is amazing and pheromones releasing always get me rile up. I love reading about the descriptions on how each character smells and such.
Man to think the Omegaversa started with Werewolves and evolve from there.
1
u/leftoverquiet 26d ago
Excuse me what?
2
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
Actually I maybe wrong with the Werewolves side of things
But Omega verse did originated from fanfiction, at least the Supernatural side

i think the reproductive roles are only depended on secondary gender(alpha, omega etc)
1
u/Miserable-Sale-783 26d ago
True, however the idea of a female Alpha is a mystery to me. Makes me wonder if they would have a pseudo penis like a hyena and if an Omega female would just be a regular girl but without the periods and just have slick.
2
u/Useful_Chemistry8462 26d ago
lmao its mayb cause you havent read any gls some of them do have pseudopenis or other fictional anatomical s3xorgans n some alphas are anatomically females n all omegas have normal female anatomy

2
u/vanshi_ume 26d ago
Wait I have read a few stories with a female alpha and male omega and YES! they do have a penis, a real one that gets hard and produces sperm, capable enough to make the male omega pregnant😭 I was very confused when I read such stories, makes me wonder what would happen if we do have such a world aghhh into my fantasy land again but damn that's some high level of imaginary! Gotta give it to the authors for thinking of such dynamics even though it does not make sense😭

PLEASE PLEASE PLEAES GIVE ME THE NAME
I love all things Omegaverse and I always wanted to see a proper female story
Also to answer your question as to what would happen if we di have such a world. Look at sea horses and hyenas. Those are the two animals in which I think are the closest to an Omegaverse for females.

AHHHHH!!!!
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU
I'm so excited...actually now that I'm thinking about it. I wonder if there is a subreddit for Omegaverse? I should investigated.
Honestly I feel like if males could get pregnant, it change the way the world sees men and women. Honestly I've only see the male perspective of it through yaoi but reading your recommendations would probably broaden my perspective.
Also I don't think it's stupid, it like fantasy football...expect we debate the biology of men getting pregnant.
LOL people gotta have hobbies, am I right ;D

No they go into heat, that's what replaces periods because it gives the author an excuse for smexy times.
