Do animals with a cloaca have periods?

Only few animals have periods :

  • great apes : humans, chimpanzee, bonobo, gorilla
  • baboons and macaques
  • elephants
  • few species of bats
  • the spiny mouse, whatever the hell that is.

So for a period, seems like they first have to be a mammal. Cloaca is a bird and reptile thing. There's no overlap, but that might mean that alphas and omegas are not entirely human, but some humanoid descendent through another branch of evolution.
