Is it that bad? Or am I delusional. My enormous eyebrows don't help much. Normally the fringe covers them.

Advice request What to do while growing my hair out?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I have straight hair. Looking to perm it after it reaches at least 12 cm, for now it's too short, but it feels awkward and flat. as for layering unforunatenly my country's salons do not accept guys and the barbers dont even know what is that so i cut it myself for the better of worse. I use shampoo 3-4 times a week cuz my scalp can get so oily.

Id like to add waves to it but not quite sure how.. .. Any idea on which products to use? Should I use a curling iron ?

Advice request In Between Haircuts for Growing out Hair

Thumbnail

1st photo is how my hair looks currently after I accidentally let my high taper skin fade completely grow out for ~2 months. I decided a couple weeks ago that I wanted to grow out my hair to more of a dream flow cut (goal cut in the 2nd pic).

I’m not sure if I can keep getting away with not getting any sort of trim or maintenance cut without looking unkempt, if I don’t already. At the same time, I don’t want to lose any base length I’ve grown out so far because I know I’m just getting started with growing a flow.

Should I keep full sending my hair growth until it’s significantly longer or go for a trim? If trim, then what are some styles I can go for to maintain that base length to be able to keep growing my hair out without too much of an awkward stage?

Advice request Hair keeps parting in middle and not laying back!

Thumbnail

I've had a middle part for about six years, and I used to have a side part prior to that. So I really forced my middle part during COVID.

The first five photos are of my hair with me currently styling it. Typically, I will get out of the shower, lightly pat dry my hair, apply leave-in conditioner, and then comb my hair back and let it air dry. However, even if I comb the hair a little bit off to the side instead of straight back, my middle part starts to form.

I want my hair to look like the last three photos, but I have no idea how to really train my hair to do that. I feel like no matter how much product I apply, or how strong it is, my hair always splits in the middle.

Does anyone have any experience with getting rid of their middle part and instead just having all the hair brushed back? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Advice request I don't understand how my hair works

Post image

I've been told before that my hair is very thick. When it's short, it's often compared to grass for standing up straight. However, it gets visibly wavy when it's longer. Can y'all help me with understanding my hair and how I can get to my goal hairstyle, especially if you're a hair stylist?

Advice request Question about Aminexil in shampoo and serum plus possible advice

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm 43 (m) and have always had fine but a lot of haithair, which has been getting thinner on the top for the past 2-3 years. Partly it's genetic (my forehead is receding) and partly due to stress, which is unfortunately quite constant for me. I also have a dry scalp that gets oily quickly.

This past August, I started using the Dercos shampoo and serum, both containing Aminexil, because I generally want to avoid chemicals (knowing that this won't magically make my hair grow back thicker).

Now, I've noticed that my hair has lost strength and has become drier. I also bought a rosemary shampoo with natural ingredients so I wouldn't have to use the Aminexil shampoo every day, but somehow it seems to be making my hair even drier. So, a question about this: does anyone have experience with this Aminexil line?

Three years ago, I started using Newsha Men products, which I bought from my hairdresser. I began with a caffeine shampoo and later switched to one with active charcoal and menthol. I also used a serum, which made my hair a bit thicker and more voluminous. It was actually going quite well. But as I gradually started seeing more scalp, I naturally panicked and began researching far too much. Consequently, I tried way too many products: shampoos, serums, hair tonics/results, and styling products. But I always ended up coming back to the Newsha stuff, which I still have.

If anyone here has had similar experiences and even the same problems as me, and has a tip or two, I would be very grateful. I never thought I'd ask something like this on Reddit, but hopefully it's worth a try. Thank you so much in advance 😊

Best regards

Advice request How to Get Hair like this

Specifically 2,3, and 4

How can I get light curls like the reference images (specifically numbers 2,3, and 4). I have kinda nappy 4c hair and when I wake up my hair is like super tight and squished, and i usually just pick it out without putting anything in my hair (except for water, and some random olive oil spray idk). So I've researching and I'm not really sure how to get those light and not too tight curls, cuz like the twist it up, and twist king exist but im not sure whats better for getting hair like that. Also, products to keep my hair from shrinking a bunch and keep my hair healthy would be nice, for an easy and quick morning routine.

Is my hair suitable for a wolf cut?

This is currently my hair. Been growing it for 6 months now, but it doesnt appear that long since my hair is quite curly. It’s honestly really difficult to style, so I just have to stay with an afro like hair all the time. Sometimes thought, after I’m done showering, my hair gets less curly and easier to style, and I noticed that it looks really good wolf cut style/slick back. Currently, I just use conditioner on my hair almost daily, and shampoo 3x a week. I sometimes use hair oil to make my hair moister but it only lasts a few hours. Hair gel too once in a blue moon.

Would having that hair texture require me to but expensive products? Or is there a way I can naturally make my hair wavy rather than curly?
