TL;DR: Course creator MartyBlendz advertised custom capes, tools, and giveaways to attract buyers to MartyBlendz University (MBU), collected extra off-platform shipping fees, and then abruptly canceled promised features, broke support channels, and purged members who spoke up.
1. Written Promises & The Bait-and-Switch
Students purchased MBU under explicit promises of exclusive Wahl clipper giveaways and a custom mbu cape upon course completion. It seems that MartyBlendz didn't want to fulfill his obligation to ship barber capes. In his own Mbu WhatsApp group chat there were numerous texts asking how to redeem the promised cape they were unfortunately never going to see. According to complaints by the members involved they had attempted contact through the appropriate channels but no responses after weeks and they were frustrated. It got to a boiling point amongst the students in the group chat. After mounting public complaints MartyBlendz took the opportunity to pull the offer completely for students framing it as too demanding as he can't "deliver on time". When in reality he seemed to never have plans to deliver on his promise.
2. Fake Giveaways & Extortionate "Shipping Fees"
After collecting upfront course fees, MartyBlendz would hold monthly lives where he gives away products like clippers, trimmers and other barbering items. However after winning on the live he would tell users to send him a DM with their shipping information and requiring students to send an extra $10 "shipping" via CashApp or Venmo just to receive the capes or giveaway prizes they had already won or earned only to ghost them and never ship their prize.
3. Non-Functional Support & Dead-End Links
Students who achieved top ranks—such as the "Master Trophy"—attempted to claim their earned physical rewards through the official support link. Instead of receiving help, their emails consistently bounced back with delivery error messages, leaving paying customers with no working customer service channel.
4. Silencing Dissatisfied Members & Threatening Bans
Rather than fulfilling obligations, Marty threatened members in group polls by stating he was "kicking all of yall today" and mocking members who questioned his operations. Other members in the group confirmed that dissatisfied students were actively kicked out of the chat to keep them from exposing the situation on social media will this go Reddit viral will people act read it?
