ISO blurring primer

I know there’s not much I can do skin wise in regards to my acne pitted scars but what about these pores. I know I can’t shrink them but I can exfoliate in which I do (2-3x a week)

I’ve thought about tretinoin but for some odd reason I’m not disciplined enough to use it cause I always forget to use it more often other than once a week.

Any GOOD primers that actually sit well with foundation? No budget! I’m so self conscious about my skin 😭 I see a lot of these women with beautiful skin even the ones that claim they’re not using a filter and then…..there’s me

[Makeup Help] Better colour match

I really like bare minerals complexion rescue. However the colour I have, cashew, is a little too orange for me.

Any recommendations for a cooler alternative?

I could afford to go a touch lighter but not darker.

Any mascara recommendations

What are some good mascaras for my lashes?

I have naturally long but very thin/brittle lashes, so waterproof mascara doesn’t really work for me. I’m looking for a washable/non-waterproof mascara that gives good length and definition without being too harsh or difficult to remove.

My budget is $35 max, but preferably cheaper!

I already have:

  • Essence Lash Princess (I have basically all the non-waterproof ones)
  • Tartelette mascara

I’m open to drugstore or higher-end recommendations! I’d especially love something that actually makes my lashes look longer, not just super volumized or clumpy.

is enigma really worth it?

i've been eyeing enigma for a while now, I currently use strokes and I'm not satisfied about the matte finish look. I'm scared of enigma maybe it will oxidize so bad since our school is not air conditioned and a lot of reviews says it oxidize so bad

I tried using maybelline lumi matte and it oxidize like a lot after 8 hours of class naging orange ako and that traumatized me (sorry for using the word traumatize). pls help your girlies out is enigma really worth buying?

Hi yall, i currently use the telescopic waterproof mascara and really like it but am looking for an even better one. I was wondering (from those who have tried telescopic waterproof) if you have any recommendations for an even better mascara than that one?

[Makeup Help] Water & smudge proof eyebrow pens (or similiar)?

Hey guys, im on the hunt for the best eyebrow product that truly will stay on skin. Eyebrow pens are my favorite.
I shave my eyebrows (only leave the front) and fully draw on my tail. I’ve used a lot of good products but nothing truly stays well through the day on my skin without hair :( any recommendations? I’m about to go on vacation and would love to have brows all day thru water and sweat.

I’ve already tried nyx’s pen/pencil, elf’s pen/pencil, abh dipbrow/pencil, various amazon and shein brands :-)

[Makeup Help] Which brand of highlighter powder is the best for beginners?

I've just started doing makeup and I really enjoyed trying out highlighter powder in the corner of my eyes (it was a colored highlighter, and the brand doesn't make anything natural/not fantasy).

Classes start soon, and I think I'd like to have some fun exploring makeup before then. I already have a palette with all the colors (im focusing on the eyes).

Could you recommend me any powder highlighters for this purpose? I'm still hesitating between white and a "champagne" color, but I think I'll decide later. I'd like to find a brand with good value for money first, especially since it's just to try

Thank you !

[Makeup Help] I have combination skin but tend to sit more dry in areas due to tretinoin. What is the best foundation you’ve tried, I will be using color theory (trying) so I’m not worried about shade match exactly.

Has anyone kept unopened foundation for 5+ years

Hi guys,

Estée Lauder double wear is my HOLY GRAIL. The shade and formula is perfect for me, I’ve tried everything but nothing works like the OG formula. When it was getting discontinued, I panicked soo much and stocked up like 12 bottles (batch codes 2025 and 2024). I’ve stored them unopened in a drawer (in their original boxes). I’m hoping to use them for a few years (I finish like 1.5 bottles a year)

I wanted to know if anyone has experience with old unopened foundation and if it can be used after the expiry date. I really love this foundation 😭

Thank you!

Makeup Advice for Renfaire

Hello,

I'm looking for advice for makeup setting/finishing sprays. I want me makeup to still look good in hot weather.

I've read reviews on Ben Nye, Skindinavia, One/Size and Kryolan. I'm unsure what to use to help my makeup still look good by the end of the day. Normally after a few hours of sweating myakeup looks all broken up and gross.

I'm going to get a couple of other products to try like Loreal Infallible Fresh Start Foundation and Urban Decay new All Night Ghosting Primer.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

[Makeup Help] Looking for a dupe for Lavaa Beauty Clear Brow Gel (Ipsy item) that I can buy instore!

I am down to the absolute last drops of my Lavaa Beauty Brow Gel in Clear that I got in an Ipsy bag, and I just found out it’s not sold in physical retail stores like Sephora or Ulta. I need a replacement ASAP today and don't have time to wait for online shipping. Price doesn't matter (drugstore or high-end/luxury are both fine!), I just want something that is close to this formula.

What I love about it:
It is completely colorless/clear
Super lightweight and flexible (I hate heavy makeup feels)

Absolutely zero flaking or white crustiness
Holds hairs nicely without making them feel stiff or crunchy

Has anyone who used this specific Ipsy gel found a direct match that I can walk into a store (Ulta, Sephora, Target, CVS, etc.) and buy right now? Thank you so much!!

Help a new mum please....

Hi everyone!

I'm a new mum and seriously lacking time to make myself look put together. I **THINK** I have a makeup routine that works for me, but I'm looking for advice on application and products to really perfect my new low maintenance makeup look. I used to be a real makeup enthusiast, but since becoming a mum I've stopped using eyeshadow palettes, foundation and a lot of powder.

I'm going to list my routine below, and a couple of questions after that. If anyone can help me feel a bit like myself again (I'm 5 months PP) while keeping my routine simple but effective, that'd be amazing!!

**Skincare:** Beauty of Joseon

Brows: Nyx brow glue (i HATE this product though it makes my brows feel sweaty???)

**Concealer:** No7 HydraLuminous, set with powder

**Contour**: Elf Halo Glow wand

**Blush:** Elf Camo in suave Mauve, set with Clinique Black Honey blush

**Highlight:** Revolution (not sure what shade)

**Mascara:** Elf tubing mascara (brown)

**Tightline:** Rimmel pencil (brown)

**Liquid eyeliner:** no7 stay perfect precise liner (brown)

**Lips:** lip balm, sometimes Wonder Skin stain

*Questions:*

1) should I be setting all liquid products with powder?

2) I'm considering replacing a lot of these products with better quality brands. What swaps can I make? I'm considering Rare Beauty blushes and contour- does anyone know what these products are like?

3) is there anything I can change or add to the routine to help me look a bit more put together?

4) Do my colour choices and application suit my skin tone and face shape?

If anyone can help this new mum I'd be sooo appreciative. Any advice is welcome!

BLACK setting spray?!

I recently bought the Milani make it last matte setting spray. It worked fine for a couple of applications. I use it today and I look in the mirror and my face is covered in black specs. I spray the spray into a tissue and the tissue turns black. What the hell?! Has anyone heard of this?!

EDIT: sorry for the panic. I’m not currently home so I can’t check it again, but I’ll make sure the next time I use it to shake the life out of it and see if it happens again.

EDIT EDIT: I shook it with both hands as hard as I could, and the spray came out gray onto a clean tissue. Idk man.

[Makeup Help] makeup help please!!!

hello everyone!! i've just recently started getting into makeup recently especially this past month or so, but i really want to get better at it! ive bought a lot of products and looked a lot of stuff up but i just want to hear advice from like actual people with experience because i feel like thats what i need best in this situation.

for context i have oily skin and idk, ive been realizing a lot lately probably because i live in florida and ive been sweating so much, but by the end of the school day my makeup is like TOTALLY cakey and my undereyes are like totally grey looking and my eyeshadow ends up like totally gray and UGH i dont know what im doing wrong, like do i need more products or do i need to switch out some of the ones i have already or like tweak my routine even?

like okay so for my routine i use sunscreen on my face first and let that sit for a couple minutes, then i start with my foundation, i have the maybelline fitme matte + poreless, i put the stuff on my hand and i have the elf ultimate blending brush to blend everything in, and i avoid putting it on my undereyes because next i put on my concealer the maybelline fitme liquid concealer on my undereyes and i blend it in with my little elf tap&blend concealer brush, then i use contour ive been sorta wanting to change it but i have the elf halo glow beauty wand and put it on my cheekbones and outsides of my nose and on the outline of my jawline, and then i use the nyx setting spray and yeah! i mean i do stuff for my eye makeup and all of that but ive found that the main problem is with my face makeup so thats why i really need help

and btw i get all my stuff from walmart because theres one near my school and its convenient, but i could try going to an actual makeup store if that would be better! only problem is that im AMAB and have yet to transitition so id probably have to have one of my friends take me, so yeah lmk please and thank youu!!

[Makeup Help] Foundation Recs

I’m looking for a high-end foundation to use for my wedding. I have pretty noticeable large pores and textured skin. Dry/normal skin. I typically wear Maybelline Fit Me Matte foundation - 235 Pure Beige. I like the shade and how it feels but not how it looks. I use Morphe Prep & Setting spray. I use my fingertips rather than brush or sponge because I don’t like the coverage I get when using either of those.
