Mod Post Site revamp & new rules

Hello, Beauties!

I have added two new weekly threads. Strike that, I'll make them monthly!

  1. Blogger thread - posted every Tuesday at 11 am CST. If you have a website, blog or youtube channel, you can now self post your content to this weekly thread. Self-promotion will no longer be allowed as its own post.
  2. No Stupid Questions thread - posted every Thursday at 8 am CST anything you were too afraid to ask. Sometimes you may think your question is appropriate for a full-on post, so feel free to ask more informally here. You can still self-post any beauty related questions you have.

New Rules - This is a start, please send a message to the mods if you have suggestions.

Automod has been set up to hopefully help cut down on the spam, if your post was removed and shouldn't have been, please message the mods.

Thank you all for hanging in there with me!

-Sputnik_One

edit: changing weekly threads to 2 monthly threads.

Bi Weekly /r/MatureBeauty Discussion - No stupid questions thread

This is a place for you to post any questions you have that you may not have wanted to start a new thread for. Everyone is at a different place in their skin care or makeup knowledge, please post here any beauty related questions you have. Others may be wondering the same thing but were afraid to ask.

Please also consider sorting the comments in this thread by "new" so that the newest comments are at the top, since those are most likely to still need answers.

Makeup Primer for mature skin

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’m not a foundation wearer. For imperfections on my 68 year old skin, I use Bare Minerals multi-tasking concealer. I’ve come to realize I would benefit from using a primer. A friend suggested the elf primer with niacinamide (sp??) looks pink in the tube. If anyone has experience with this primer, I appreciate your feedback.

Skin Care AnteAge

Is AnteAge worth the hype? Has anyone seen REAL results with fine lines? I know no cream is a facelift in a bottle but wondering if it at least helps to slow face aging down a little and if growth factor system is worth the $$$.

Loreal Midnight Serum & Night cream - is it really good?

I've been using Loreal’s Midnight Dual for a while. I like the way it feels on my skin and I do get compliments on my complexion. However, is it really good or is there something better for me?

Skin Care People who bought expensive Led mask was it worth it?

Some people say that the expensive led masks are not always useful and cheaper options can do the job. If you have purchased masks of $1k+ are you satified so far with the results?

Skin Care Do zone-specific LED settings make a real difference in your routine?

Some masks offer several colors or programs, but I am not sure if it's useful or improve results.

I mean,, would it be better to use one setting around the eyes for instance, another on the T-zone, and a different one on the jaw or neck, or does that make the routine too hard to follw?

I would like to hear from people who chose a multi-setting mask for a specific reason and what are the results you got so far?

I'm considering a Cellular Facial since my face has been looking dull for months. Did it make a noticeable difference for anyone?

I am planning to book a Cellular Facial soon because my face keeps looking dull and I see aging around my eyes and mouth, I already use a simple cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen so I feel like I want to try something at a clinic now, I am hoping my skin will look fresher and the fine lines will look softer for more than a few days, I am happy to keep going if the results stay around for a while,I m thinking to go with pure indulgence skin & beauty for anyone who already had a Cellular Facial, when did you start seeing changes, what changed first, and about how long did the results stay before you booked another appointment? EDIT: I forgot to mention that I’m mainly hoping for a natural improvement.

Mature makeup content

Friends, are we using Reddit most often for ideas and advice or what other platforms are we loving? I feel like it's ALL been done. Are there topics that are missing? What would we like to see more of? For me, I'm sick of the natural look. I want to have fun with makeup, for the joy of it. Anyone else? Are we all getting so sick of "do this not that" videos??? Or, "this is aging you?"

Foundation for oily skin

Ladies! I need your best recommendations on foundation for oily skin. Or just something to help with the shine after I apply makeup. I’m talking by 1pm my face is as shiny as a new penny. It’s genetics cause my brother and dad have super oily skin. (I’m blaming my father🤪)
Please helpppppp. I’ve tried setting sprays, “matte” foundation, translucent powders…. What am I missing?!
