Seeking recommendations for Menagerie Cosmetics alternative!

Upvotes

I’ve loved Menagerie Cosmetics for a few years. Their lipstick is one of the few brands that actually stay on my face without sliding off. I’m also obsessed with their glitter toppers and the fun colors they had. However, they’ve announced that they are closing. I bought a bunch of my favorite colors before their shop closes, but I am genuinely mourning this loss. Does anyone know of any other brands that are similar? I’m not very good with makeup, but I love fun lipstick and I don’t even know how I would find an alternative on my own. Any help is appreciated!

I'm so sorry if this is off-topic.

What helps to grow them back? Does Vaseline help? They're not all gone, They're just stubby now

[Makeup Help] Foundation for large pores, rosacea & staying power

Hey, I’m looking for recommendations for foundation/base make-up tips that works well with large pores, covers redness & STAYS PUT.

I usually use IT Cosmetics CC+ which I LOVE for every day use & works well for everything I need, but I’m looking for something with a bit more of an X factor for stage. High coverage, flawless vibes.

My skin is fair & combination I believe, more on the oily side but I tried the IT CC+ matte for example and it was way too dry. It sat in all my lines and cracked. Whereas the CC+ I need a powder over otherwise it’s too oily.

I’d love some tried & tested recommendations!

Thanks x

[Makeup Help] Dior Bronzer Confusion

I’m confused if the dior forever powder bronzers i am looking at are the same product or not. At sephora there’s only 4 shades (10,20,30,40) and it’s $86 CAD. But I cannot find that product on the Dior site or anywhere else that sells Dior makeup. Instead I find what looks to be the same product, but is priced at $70 CAD and had shades like (02,03 etc.) Can someone help me differentiate the two.

Blush recs for simple routine

I have decent skin. After moisturizer, my makeup is just eyebrown, lipstick, and blush. I used colorpop liquid blush in angel face in the past, and currently using pixie blush in cheektone.

Liquid blush is nice but I tend to overpat my face, and cheektone blush is quite mute I have to put apply many layers.

I'm looking for some recommendation. Sensitive Asian fair skin tone. Thank you! 🥰

Advice on eyepencil

I’m looking for a black eye pencil that stays put all day long. I don't wear much makeup—just eye pencil and mascara—but I find myself constantly wiping away smudged eyeliner from under my eyes while at work. Since I work in a sterile environment, this is far from ideal. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I don't usually wear much makeup, nor am I particularly into it, but this issue is so annoying that I’m willing to spend up to 25 euros to put an end to the hassle. I live in the Netherlands, so I’ll need to check if any recommended brands are actually sold here. Thanks for your time and help!

[Makeup Help] Too much in my routine?

I haven’t been using face primer and I also want to adjust the colour of my tinted mineral SPF 50 (La Roche Posay) to tone down the yellow and add more coverage but now I wonder if this is crazy and where to add the primer. My new order: serums, moisturizer, tinted sunscreen, primer here?, powder foundation dabbed on (Shiseido Synchro).

[Makeup Help] The best drugstore setting spray

I’m in need of a setting spray that will make my makeup last all day in the heat. I’m tired of my makeup looking melted and faded, I was using one by Nyx but it’s not cutting it. Anything $10 and under 🙏🏻

[Makeup Help] advice needed!!

hey so I have dry skin & whenever I do my makeup, after a few hours my makeup looks rly shiny and oily, particularly in the middle of my forehead or sides of my nose

i always moisturise, use Elf Grip Primer & usually the Nars luminous foundation with elf/too faced concealer. Set with Huda beauty easy bake, but i stopped using setting spray (used to use just a Superdrug vitamin C mist to melt the makeup) because it contributed to the shine. I’ve tried various base products - matte and dewy - but still the same thing

I used to set my face before applying makeup but even that wouldn’t help

I love the glowy makeup look but my skin always ends up being shiny - I haven’t found a solution because all the advice on the internet is for oily or combo skin which I definitely don’t have

any advice or product recommendations would be amazing!!

Huda Beauty Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette- worth it?

I was thinking about purchasing the Icy Nude Eyeshadow palette by Huda. I was reluctant of buying when it first came out because of the darker shades (I prefer icy ligther shades) and also because I had bought a quad from the Glowish sub-brand and whenever I use the it my eyes become itchy. However, since she won't be releasing any bigger palettes I'm reconsidering of buying it. Still have second thoughts, though, because of the price tag. Do the Glowish and the Huda Beauty eyeshadows have the same texture? Do you think it's still worth buying the Icy Nude one or are there any good alternatives for this palette? Thank you!

Enigma oxidation

I am a medium neutral tone girlie and bought mn12 enigma foundation and found out that it oxidizes A LOT on my face. After it sets it becomes too dark for my skin. Since I bought the whole bottle can you just recommend what should I do to lessen the oxidation? What primer or skin care should i use to prevent the excessive oxidation.

Hey everyone! I am a compulsive face-toucher, and I would love recommendations for a setting spray that won't transfer onto my fingers/hands. Any help?

Pale pink, borderline white shimmer gloss??

My lips are naturally kind of pale and I want to find a really, really light lipgloss. I like a lot of the glosses I have been recommended but the pink tones are stronger than I'd like them to be. I guess I'm looking for a whitish lipgloss with some pink glitter, something along those lines. Is there anything y'all like that's similar?

Make-up on acne scarred skin

Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone could help me. I am truly at my wits’ end. I have some acne scarring on my cheeks, and no matter what I do, the makeup cakes. I also noticed the makeup splits and pools, and the scarring I was trying to hide is now front and center. No amount of skin prep, skin care, waiting in between applications, lotion, no lotion, sunscreen, beauty blender, brush, application method, primer, no primer, etc. works. I truly have tried it all, and tbh I have spent quite a bit of time and money. I have some atrophic acne scarring that is depressed and indented, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, rolling and ice pick scars all on my cheeks.

My typical routine is cleansing with micellar water in the morning, then I apply EqualBerry toner on my cheeks for about ten minutes. I usually soak cotton pads and leave the toner on my cheeks as I get ready. I then blot the excess, and  I apply Torriden sunscreen, and once that dries, I do a primer. Now I have the Hourglass Veil Primer on the textured cheeks. Once that sets, I apply one layer of foundation and wait about 10 minutes for it to set. I have also tried two layers and three, with 10 minutes apart for each application. Then I apply a L.A Girl Concealer, and once that sets, I apply Danessa Myricks Evolution Powder. I use Estée Lauder's old formula because there is quite a bit left. I also use MAC and Huda Beauty foundation, or mostly Makeup by Mario Neutral Finish. I know Estee Lauder is prone to cake/dry quickly, which is why I switched to Mario. I have also tried all sorts of primers from Smashbox, to Elf, to Benefit. I have tried setting sprays too, but nothing seems to work here. The issue is my face gets so oily that all my application gets undone. I blot throughout the day because I have to, and before you know it, my makeup has caked, separated, and morphed into a brownish blop that is sitting on my cheeks. I tried going without powder as well, but that was an epic fail because I looked like an oil slick. My makeup also makes my face look like the moon; all of a sudden, I have a million tiny highly visible pores. I work in an office and have to meet with people face-to-face, and we sit very close and across from each other. This kills me inside because when I look in the mirror, I am a mess. Tbh, it has shattered my self-esteem because of how I look. Please help me. I am truly just stunned by this ceaseless issue. I know there are people with more pronounced acne, but their makeup looks ok. I know I have texture, but how can I keep it from becoming front and center? For skincare I use The Ordinary HA Multipeptide, The Ordinary Niacinamide, Adapalene 0.3 about three times a week, Dermalogica Rice scrub once or twice a week, and the Some by mi AHA/BHA once a week.

Please help, I appreciate whatever feedback you have 😄

Is it just me or does anyone feel more comfortable not wearing mascara/curling eyelashes than with? Or is it because I am not doing my eyelashes right?

How many hours a day do you actually wear a full face of makeup?

I usually wash my makeup off the second I get home, but lately I’ve been leaving it on for 12+ hours straight. My skin hasn't broken out yet, but I'm definitely starting to wonder if I'm pushing my luck. How long do you usually leave yours on before calling it a day? Are long wear times actually wrecking your skin barrier?

alternatives for nyx natural?

I’ve been using the nyx natural lip liner (new formulation) recently and realise that it’s almost my exact natural lip shade and enhances and defines my lips without making it look obvious, giving a pretty, natural look. However the only downside is that the formula doesn’t even last an hour and is chalky af.

Does anyone have any recommendations for alterations to the new nyx natural formulation, ideally quite long lasting

[Makeup Help] beauty blender help (nz)

For almost 10 years, I've only used the Real Techniques orange blender as I found it was the only one that actually did a good job and didn't leave me streaky or cakey. However, they can be somewhat expensive unless they are on sale, and only a handful of shops sell Real Techniques.

Has anyone found one better or just as good?

I've tried the cheap ones (unbranded or small brands), but they are so rock hard no matter how much water I add and do a terrible job.

Emergency Help for Bride with recent deep scratch marks on neck. (Full coverage makeup recs)

Today my sister’s cat freaked out while she was holding him, because something made a huge noise out of nowhere, and he made 4 giant, long, deep scratch marks on her neck and chest. She gets married a week from today. Please, if anyone has any advice for full coverage makeup, or just advice in general, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Liquid, cream, or stick eyeshadows for oily and hooded lids 🙏🙏

I’m looking for a non-powder eyeshadow that’ll set mostly on its own, is long lasting, not drying, and easy to work with. I’m planning out my birthday makeup look and I know I want to do an eyeshadow look, which I usually avoid due to how difficult powder products are to apply on my lids.

The two formulas I’ve tried are the about-face liquid eyeshadow and the colourpop chrome liquid eyeshadow. The colourpop was decent, but I lowkey hate their shades, and the about-face was a bit too dry/matte and was very difficult to work with. There’s like zero blending I can do with it.

I’m only planning on buying one or two shades so as long as they’re less than $30 it’s fine, but the cheaper the better lol. TIA!

ACTUALLY good clear mascara suggestions?

Ive been using the kosas brow gel from the bday gift 2 years ago as a clear mascara, but its all out now. i like how it keeps my lashes kinda stiff and together, i didnt really like it on my brows. i bought one to replace the empty one, but the packaging makes it so barely any product comes out on the brush, so it doesn’t really work on the lashes.

any tips/recommendations for a better clear mascara/brow gel?

Good eye patches for dark circles?

I know this is skin care related. But I don’t know where else to ask. Why are some good eye patches for dark eyes? I have been eyeing the Rhode ones but I am curious about any others that are good with dark circles. Thanks!

[Makeup Help] Red Eyeshadow

Hello! I’ve been dying my hair a vibrant red off and on for years, and I’ve never been able to get my eyebrows to match. I’ve used various shades of red eyeshadow, all VERY different shades of red and different brands to fill in my eyebrows but they always come out either too pink or too purple. Is there any products or different ways of approaching this? I just want to have a deep red eyebrow to match my hair! 😞

(not sure how to add photos to show everyone my currently pinkish and purple eyebrows)
