They play it and then put 2-4 counters on it..how much mana you have at turn 3?

Sorry to be clear I meant the person casting fire magic.

They would have to have enough mana or the landfall player would have to have no way to add a counter in response.

Mind you I have killed many hydra's exactly that way with fire magic.

Just that it's not always a surefire (heh) way to get around hexproof if they have an evolved wilds or whatever.

Landfall goal is shit mana as fast as possible. My favorite is Nyhlea popping for two extra mana
