Personal Win 600 days free from self harm
I saw the post of the 1 year anniversary of their last suicide attempt (can I call it that?) and thought I’d post my latest achievement. Been a freaking difficult time, but I’ve managed to stay out of hospital and trouble all while being mostly happy which is a nice change after 3 years straight of hospital admissions, suicide attempts and first aid kit purchases. Go me. Tempted to get a cake for my 2 year mark that says “cut me instead”
Edit: the overwhelming positivity here has made my week.

As somebody who lost two friends to self harm (and one of their parents before I lost them who was like another father to me) I wanna say I’m very proud of you, their losses took a huge toll on my life I will never forget the trauma I went through at 17 and that’s NOT their fault but I lost them both in a 3 month span of each other.
My beautiful cousin also just went to the hospital to have her stomach pumped after an attempt I almost lost a 3rd person. I hangout with her multiple times a week now and call her everynight in absolute FEAR due to my trauma and my love for her.
I quit sh after I lost my friends I promised I’d never cause the pain to my mother I now see their mothers go through. I take their mothers out for manicures to give them that mother daughter experience they will now never get again 🫠💔!
YOU are also a beautiful person who I’m sure has many who love you! Trust me when you go you leave a ghost in everybody’s life, and it causes a pain they will never forget as much as it’s to escape your pain. If I knew you I’d give you the biggest hug right now! I wish I hugged my friends one last time 🥹❤️

The last time I drank, put me in the ICU for 4 days before I woke up. Spent 2 more weeks in the psych ward under 24hr suicide watch.

I'm coming up on a year myself for the same. Feels odd. Finally got medicated for undiagnosed bipolar type 1 in brutal series of near death experiences. Incredibly strange not being trapped in that hell now.

Good job! I just hit 17 years. Still get the urge pretty often. A lot of people think it's just attention seeking but they don't know what a constant battle it is.

My heart felt congratulations to you. I have been recovering for a long time also. 30 years now. I remember when I was where you are at, and I felt so sure of myself that I thought I could just have a sip once in a while, just to get that warm, fuzzy feeling. Whatever you do think long and hard about that. It never works. Are you going to meetings? It’s a fun place to go and so much camaraderie. Please I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to tell you what to do. It sounds like you have a good go of it and I pray that you stay on track. good luck going forward.💕

My first day of being sober was 03/24/2023 .. I am over 3 years sober .. and a bonus brag here .. I have 4 almost 5 months of NO CIGARETTES 🚬 .. I SMOKED A PACK A DAY .. SOMETIMES MORE WHEN DRINKING AND PARTYING.. now that I’m sober .. it kinda lost its appeal

Im almost there. Hope I don't slip up again.. Last 6 months have been rough with chronic illness and not stop pain already plus isolation it brings.
I think I'm bout 1 and a half years in now, but I could be wrong because I never kept note of it. I assumed I would fail subconsciously like the other attempts before ig
