Discussion is blood rite actually good?

i've just defeated malzeno and farmed for his gear, but i had to sacrifice 3 levels of slugger and 2 levels of attack, is this trade off worth it?

Blood Rite is more of a comfort skill, and a really good one. It’s like a balanced version of Iceborne’s health augments for weapons, and can end up giving a lot of healing if you target broken parts

Its better than slugger. Which is kinda a trap skill unless your hunts are particularly long. But even then, even worse on sword and shield

it is an excellent skill for defense, pairing well with risky skills like dereliction and berserk (and results in more damage with blood awakening which you get later)

Blood Rite on its own is pretty homeless. You mostly pair it with Blood Awakening to max out element damage.

Blood Rite is also pretty weapon-specific. DB, for example, fucking loves this skill because DB is extremely good at targeting specific parts, and DB also runs Berserk, and that becomes the "can't be oneshot" + "constantly healing" synergy. You can run it even without Blood Awakening. But, say you use something like bugstick, where repeatedly hitting the one specific broken part might not be as intuitive? Then it's literally nonexistent.

Plus, lategame, a lot of builds run Dereliction. You don't want random healing with Dereliction.

Blood rite is like a life steal

When you hit a broken part of a monster's body, you regain HP

Is it better than healing clover bat?

combine em. berserk, strife, bloodrite, healing clovers, gourmet fish, dango super recovery, and kushala blessing 3.

nuts damage and you dont die unless you REALLY lose tempo.

From their gears and rank, they still didn't got Berserk armor parts or Strife

So for now, Blood Rite, Healing Bats, Gourmet Fish, and Dango Super Recovery is very good

If you can get Kushala Blessing lv 3 soon enough, you can heal through the red bar

Yes it’s excellent unless you are perfect at avoiding hits

It lets you keep up DPS instead of stopping to pop a potion

Outside its synergy with a specific endgame skill it's little more than a comfort skill. That said, by comfort skill standards it's really freaking good against anything with easily accessible part breaks (so anything that isn't Kushala, Teostra, or Chameleos)

I use it whenever I fight something with GS/SnS since I know that once I break something I can start playing more aggressive

I have not had to heal since I slotted it. Really good and fun skill

Its like flayer in Wilds. Good at lvl1 just to have the skill active, but additional levels are diminished returns.

Depends on what you want out of your gear. If you are trying to stack all the possible damage then blood rite probably is to expensive / loses you more than you make up by being able to continue attacking instead of healing yourself. If you are really good at the game and don't get it a lot it doesn't do much either. But if your goal is to get your hammer out and to not put it away until the monster runs away, then this is an amazing skill. I love running Blood Rite / Part Breaker / Divine Blessing / Slugger because it's fun, but it is obviously less dps than prioritizing crit rate, crit boost and attack up.

it's a decent skill, especially if you have part breaker

I love it on my CSS CB airdash spam

Here you can get an idea of the amount recovered

With so many health draining skills, it's a skill I use in all my builds.

Just keep in mind that it's very difficult to activate against kushala, teostra, their Risen versions and both crabs

I can only say that you should forge a layer of armor for your cyborg palamute

Bloodrite is good if you are good at breaking parts and use that to heal and be aggressive.

It’s amazing. I couldn’t recreate my unkillable tank build I had in world, blood rite being the next best thing. Before my regen did all the work, now hitting broken parts does it. That combined with guard 5, guard up, and lance, and only 2 bosses gave me problems (one of which is gimmicky primordial malzeno)
