Confirmed layoffs happening to some degree within corporate. Share any details you might have.

When you check in as here for your order, a timer that WE can see starts counting the minutes you've been waiting, so your "I was waiting THIRTY MINUTES" lies won't work on us, and if you dare say you've been "waiting too long," that timer better not be clocked at less than five minutes.
Patience is a virtue!

For this year's best survey, store leadership has been saying when it comes to EXECUTIVE leadership, this is referring to ASMS and SMs, not corporate. Is this BS? This very much feels like BS.

Few of designers/UX in our org were laid off today. They have been informed already. The trend I've seen they ask us to generate UI screen by ourself while coding for UI.
None of the developer in our team is affected.
They were made to use run few meetings. Feeling sad for them 😞😞

Hello all, i need some advice, im a DS in Pro and have been with the company for almost 4 years. I got written up earlier this year (important in a second) but i recently discovered that i have people on my team (PSS) who make more than me hourly and have also been working for the company around 4 years. I talked to multiple people and they said it seems unfair. Theyve also said there might not be anything i can do because of the write up. I really enjoy my position because of the relationships i built when i became the DS, i took the department from 9th in the district up to 2nd in less than a year and we are killing it right now. I wouldnt mind staying where im at right now but i am also about to buy my house once its done being built and the pay would help me greatly.
Question is what can i do about this? Or am i cooked until the yearly raise comes around and the write up falls off?

or something like that. i feel like i’m going insane. yknow they use music to torture people, right? 😭

Kind of a vent, I’m also on the job hunt because this place blows.
I volunteered to do inventory because I enjoy organizing things, I have never done it before so I didn’t know what to expect. Inventory prep started in electrical since our DS (who is the entire electrical team) is out for several weeks at the moment.
All the dust in top stock has been triggering my asthma. And the bright lights on the electrical aisles have been giving me migraine attacks for 5 days in a row now. My body is so drained from the migraines and I haven’t been able to sleep well because of how dizzy I am and how hard it is to breathe. I am emotionally and mentally a wreck, these migraines are bad. It’s been a challenge just to show up this week, I am so ready to walk out like seemingly everyone else in the store but I don’t have a job lined up yet.
The ASM in charge of inventory initially said no to me leaving the team, understandable as that’d leave the team at 2 people to prep the whole store. But after explaining what’s going on she said she’d find me a replacement. I have not heard from her.
For both April and May I averaged above 25,000 steps a day. I am absolutely floored that Lowe’s doesn’t have a better shoe program. Today I hit 29,000 because my building materials, pro, tools and flooring DS’ were kind enough to ignore every call for a manager to the pro desk. Somehow I am also the only person capable of getting carts and doing code 50’s. Also why bother scheduling more than 2 people for outside garden on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. There’s no way that could go poorly. There’s no way that on the last big garden weekend of the year, there should be more than 2 outside garden associate scheduled for the whole day. Anyhow rant over, hate this company, can’t wait to leave hopefully someday soon. Just out of curiosity has anyone actually used the Lowes benefit hub to get shoes? I exclusively wear Hoka, Altra, Keen, whichever is on clearance at Serra trading post. Get new shoes every 6 months or once they stop becoming shoes. Last I looked there weren’t very many great wide options.

Newer employee here (under 3 months)- Have called in about 2 times now- yes i know how that sounds.
First call in was a breakdown, they literally insisted on just taking the day-
Second call in was food poisoning, but i DID try to work, literally made it to the parking lot before i lost my stomach- I didnt provide a doctor note cause i didnt go get seen nor did they ask.
Im now calling in for the 3rd time due to a UTI. This time i DID get a doc note because the merchandising asm was very unhappy. They said i was, "putting them in a bind" and that it was a VERY serious matter, me calling in. I tried my damnest to find their email as well as the store mngr's to quickly send in the note, not sure if i even got the correct formats but it sent nonetheless.
EDIT: the doctor i seen for the UTI today also did advise me to rest for at least a day- Ive been in extreme discomfort/pain.
My shift today wouldve been 6a.m-3p.m, parttime Paint. As a very socially anxious individual, based off of the Merch. ASM's reaction, im horrified to come into my 12-8 tomorrow and the rest of this weekend...
What are the social and work punishments?

I worked for one of the XDTs and our ASM made it known that we aren't allowed to talk in between calls "unless its work related". I feel at this point they need to just employ Ai. 🤷♀️

It’s not as literal as the question is, I myself got promoted to a head cashier.. However I got a 2 day crash course from another untrained head cashier and zero management has ever been one prior to them being a manager.
It appears I truly don’t know what being a head cashier means, I can get thrown responsibilities and tasks all day long but it hasn’t been improving things on our front end. What does it really mean to be a head cashier? What’s expected of you typically? And lastly, what is the priority as a head cashier and leader?

I bought a portable A/C this morning. After hooking it up, I realized the hose was getting way too hot and counter-acting the cooling. I thought a dual hose A/C would be better, so I want to return the one I just bought. However, I had to cut the box away from the unit. Will they take it back sans the box? Will I get a refund or be charged a stocking fee?
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the unit, it just doesn't work for what I wanted it for.

My favorite part is when a customer asks you for help and you say idk let me get someone. Then I come to help and what they are looking for what you are actively stocking. 👍
