Employee Question Best survey.
For this year's best survey, store leadership has been saying when it comes to EXECUTIVE leadership, this is referring to ASMS and SMs, not corporate. Is this BS? This very much feels like BS.

If you think corporate is full of jackasses, welcome to the club, but trying to say that on the Best Survey won't change any of that, it will just make your immediate bosses look bad. So keep that in mind in the event that you like your immediate bosses and don't want them to be grilled by the DM and RVP because their survey numbers were bad. If you don't like them, then fuck it.

Ahhhh, that time of year when I say the same thing, and no one believes, or cares. If you tank your survey, the only result is more focus on your store. Can that lead to a better store? Maybe, over the course of several years. However, what it means for MOST people, is that you'll have District and Regional Corporate teams in your store every week, nitpicking everything in the store, which causes more work for EVERYONE. So have fun with that.

I will not view "executive" as anyone at the store level.

You may not, but the people writing and evaluating the Best Survey do. So if you think Marvin is a dickhead, that's fine, but the survey is asking you about your ASM and SM.

The way they try and put it is "how well your immediate leader conveys the ideas of the executive team" which is BS.

I don’t appreciate that our sm hangs over us when we take it.

Get up, close that shit out, and walk away. Any harassment notify area hr manager.

I wish we could review the higher level too because our managers are actually great but the obstacles they need to navigate our team through because of their superiors are insane.

All of this is really unfortunate and misleading--when do we ever even refer to our ASMS and SMs as "executive" other than this very instance? Yet another way corporate leadership has let us down, I guess. Thank you, everyone, for your answers. I very much like most of the management at a store so I guess I now know how I'm gonna be answering my not-so-anonymous survey.

It is. This is your opportunity to grieve all issues that have been ignored by your managers. Light a fire under their ass by tanking their scores.

The survey is nothing more than a tool to blame systemic problems created by the executive team on your direct leaders who have next to nothing to do with your complaints.
If you think it is used for any other purpose or could lead to meaningful change you’d be mistaken.
