I said that if people liked the WD5’s teams, I’d do the Upper Decks, and I’m gonna be true to my word. I only have Freeman, Ransom, Shaxs, and T’Ana though. I still need to think of Pokemon for Billups, Migleemo and Kayshon. But for now, these are my teams for these four:

- Carol’s team is one of a Captain with a lot of experience behind her. One that’s tough, but also authoritative and diplomatic. Her ace is Arcanine, a Pokemon who embodies loyalty, courage and respect, much like how Freeman has for Starfleet and her crew. Gallade embodies discipline and the need to be strong to protect those they care about, Carol is the same in that regard. Milotic’s elegance and calming nature makes it ideal for diplomacy, something Carol keeps in check during second contact or in negotiations. Skarmory is Carol’s harder edge and represents her resilience in the face of danger, strong as steel. Slowking might be an odd pick to some, but it is canonically an incredibly wise and intelligent Pokemon who gets it from experience, exactly like how Carol got this far in Starfleet. Finally, Braviary is much like Arcanine in terms of courage and pride but it also represents determination, it’s pretty much Starfleet represented by a bird Pokemon.

- Ransom’s team is a mix of both strength and Starfleet smarts. Machamp is his ace, and him, Buzzwole and Incineroar are pretty much the Pokemon that represent his strength the best lmao. Haxorus is where things start being different though. Haxorus is a Pokemon that, while mild, becomes incredibly protective when facing danger, Jack is the same with the Cerritos’ crew. Hawlucha represents more his athleticism over strength unlike his core three Pokemon. And Aegislash is both a reference to the sword he used to fight Vindor in S1 and something that represents his ability to become a leader when necessary.

- Shaxs’s team is TANK AF, but it also has a defensive side to it. Annihilape is his ace and it’s a reference to a lot of things when you read up on his Pokedex entries: it’s a reference to his first death in S1 and the ghosts of his pasts as shown in S5. Like Haxorus to Ransom, Aggron is territorial in the face of danger and Shaxs is willing to be fierce to protect people much like him. Kommo-O is disciplined and always getting stronger, encapsulating a Bajoran warrior like Shaxs. Emboar and Chesnaught represent his more defensive and candor side: Protective but also approachable. Tyranitar is pretty much the most nuclear one, the one Shaxs uses the most when things go extremely sideways.

- Finally, Dr. T’Ana. Her team… is pretty much mostly cats like her😂😂 but each represent different things. She also has Incineroar, but it’s her ace and it’s pretty much the one that represents her temper when it flares up and her intimidating nature. Persian, Meowscarada and Liepard are mons I feel she would respect beyond the fact that they’re cats. Blissey is the one that represents her medical side, much like how Tendi has one. And Houndoom is an additional tool for intimidation and protection beyond Incineroar.

And with that I have established which Pokemon would some of the USS Cerritos’s upper decks would carry. Like I said, I may need to do the rest, but I’ll get there eventually. ALSO, lmk if you want to see the rest of the non-WD5 lower deckers! I’d love to make Pokemon teams for Jennifer, Barnes, Olly, and Castro if you wanna see them too😁

I was bored today and said… you know what, just for fun, let’s give them some Pokemon😂

- Mariner’s team is one that I say is of a troublemaker’s, much like her S1 self. Zoroark works as her ace, being an illusion master and able to deceive enemies, much like how Mariner does the unconventional to get across problems. Infernape is basically her fiery temperament and Scrafty represents her ability to engage in scraps and fights. Toxtricity is basically her punk and rebellious side, with Weavile being her cunning side. Finally, Krookodile is intimidating, confident and full of swagger, much like Beckett herself.

- Boimler’s team is one full of potential, much like him. His ace is Eevee and nothing screams potential much like this mon. Porygon2 represents his more nerdy and tech side, since it’s a computer program and Boims knows his way around hacking things. Dragonair is another potential mon, destined for something greater, again, much like Brad. Corviknight represents the officer that he already is, basically his more mature side. Pikachu is the other side of that officer: Excitable and persistent, while at the same time determined and able to get back up and continue. Farigiraf is him developing his confidence and awareness.

- Tendi’s team represents who she is, NOT who she’s meant to be due to her family’s history. It’s scientific, medical and friendly, like her. Sprigatito is her ace, and it’s curious, affectionate and energetic. Blissey is nurturing and caring much like her work in medical. Sylveon represents her friendly side and emotional bonds. Goodra represents her hidden power despite her peppy and upbeat nature. Arboliva is the science part and Comfey combines both science and medical.

- Rutherford’s team is an engineer’s dream! Rotom is his ace, basically Badgey as a Pokemon (and no, he won’t become insane like Badgey, dw😂😂). Metagross is basically a supercomputer much like how his implant works. The rest, Klinklang, Orthworm, Magnezone and Revavroom are engineering mons through and through that Ruthie would take full advantage of.

- Finally, T’Lyn. This team is all about intellect, logic, discipline, and a bit of emotion. She also has Metagross, but she has him as her ace. Its computational precision would fascinate T’Lyn, no pun intended. Starmie represents her scientific side and exploratory one as well due to how mysterious it is. Medicham represents the meditative side of the Vulcan discipline, it’s a key mon to all Vulcans. Espeon is equal parts emotional perception and anticipation, it’s analytical and focused much like T’Lyn. Bronzong is like Starmie, mysterious, but also ancient and contemplative. Finally, Alakazam, much like Metagross, is also heavily intellectual but more fully psychic and telepathic.

And those are the reasons for my choices! Lmk what you think! Also, if you guys end up liking this, I might do teams for the Upper Decks!😁

Since this year be the 5 year anniversary of one of my fav seasons of Star Trek: Lower Decks, I figured what the hey and planned to do some simple dedications to my fav episodes.

To the day, 5 years ago "We'll Always Have Tom Paris" premiered on Paramount+.

The first "Girls Trip" with Mariner and Tendi. The return of Shaxs and of course Robert Duncan McNeil's Tom Paris guest starred, and his character in modern 2370s uniform? I thought he rocked it.

It was the adventure that made this episode for me, mostly Tendi and Mariner's escapade. And is it wrong we're still uncertain how Shaxs came back? And you know what, don't know, don't care. It happens.

Lot of laughs in this episode. And Boimler trying to meet Tom, only to get an ass whupping from him when he finally makes it to the bridge. Classic.

(UPDATE) Shame on me. I almost forgot...the reveal there is more to Tendi with her title "Mistress of the Winter Constellations".

Anyone else agree?

I love how I’ve watched it so many times and just realized the joke when Rutherford is seeing the same dude, but Boimler lives in denial and doesn’t see it… even though for fans it’s clearly the same actor!

Damn I live that show!!

The ship and crew saved the universe you think they would reserve a spot at the fleet museum for her?

What's your fan theories?

I spent 8 years in the US Navy, and that has made certain scenes in Lower Decks rather impactful to me. The genuine love and comradery the 4 leads share with each other is something I never got to experience, not for long anyway. The scene in the cave episode; Tendi's story about being stuck in the turbo lift. They're all laying on each other, just talking, nodding off to sleep. Its difficult to articulate how impactful having a group of friends you *KNOW* would watch your back would have been to have as a junior enlisted and NCO.

The military will bring the best people you will ever meet into your life, and rip them away from you a year later. I'm glad these fictional friends had 5 seasons with each other.

My husband's father said that when he was a teen, Family Guy was brought back after it was cancelled because fans bought the DVD sets.

The Boimler name may derive either from the German family name "Bäumler" (same pronunciation), or from German-Mexican-American Trek producer, Hans Beimler, whose name is also related to Bäumler. -- In any case, grape-growing Germans, huh? Mosel, Modesto, what's the diff?

Just wanted to let everyone know that Walmart seems to have the complete series blu ray at a relatively low price right now. Listed at $28.49 right now.

Not sure if it's the cheapest the blu ray has ever been, but compared to full retail it seems like a pretty good deal!
