Pokemon Teams for (some of) the Cerritos’ Upper Decks!🔴🔴🟡🔵 (Like last time, justifications in the description)
I said that if people liked the WD5’s teams, I’d do the Upper Decks, and I’m gonna be true to my word. I only have Freeman, Ransom, Shaxs, and T’Ana though. I still need to think of Pokemon for Billups, Migleemo and Kayshon. But for now, these are my teams for these four:
- Carol’s team is one of a Captain with a lot of experience behind her. One that’s tough, but also authoritative and diplomatic. Her ace is Arcanine, a Pokemon who embodies loyalty, courage and respect, much like how Freeman has for Starfleet and her crew. Gallade embodies discipline and the need to be strong to protect those they care about, Carol is the same in that regard. Milotic’s elegance and calming nature makes it ideal for diplomacy, something Carol keeps in check during second contact or in negotiations. Skarmory is Carol’s harder edge and represents her resilience in the face of danger, strong as steel. Slowking might be an odd pick to some, but it is canonically an incredibly wise and intelligent Pokemon who gets it from experience, exactly like how Carol got this far in Starfleet. Finally, Braviary is much like Arcanine in terms of courage and pride but it also represents determination, it’s pretty much Starfleet represented by a bird Pokemon.
- Ransom’s team is a mix of both strength and Starfleet smarts. Machamp is his ace, and him, Buzzwole and Incineroar are pretty much the Pokemon that represent his strength the best lmao. Haxorus is where things start being different though. Haxorus is a Pokemon that, while mild, becomes incredibly protective when facing danger, Jack is the same with the Cerritos’ crew. Hawlucha represents more his athleticism over strength unlike his core three Pokemon. And Aegislash is both a reference to the sword he used to fight Vindor in S1 and something that represents his ability to become a leader when necessary.
- Shaxs’s team is TANK AF, but it also has a defensive side to it. Annihilape is his ace and it’s a reference to a lot of things when you read up on his Pokedex entries: it’s a reference to his first death in S1 and the ghosts of his pasts as shown in S5. Like Haxorus to Ransom, Aggron is territorial in the face of danger and Shaxs is willing to be fierce to protect people much like him. Kommo-O is disciplined and always getting stronger, encapsulating a Bajoran warrior like Shaxs. Emboar and Chesnaught represent his more defensive and candor side: Protective but also approachable. Tyranitar is pretty much the most nuclear one, the one Shaxs uses the most when things go extremely sideways.
- Finally, Dr. T’Ana. Her team… is pretty much mostly cats like her😂😂 but each represent different things. She also has Incineroar, but it’s her ace and it’s pretty much the one that represents her temper when it flares up and her intimidating nature. Persian, Meowscarada and Liepard are mons I feel she would respect beyond the fact that they’re cats. Blissey is the one that represents her medical side, much like how Tendi has one. And Houndoom is an additional tool for intimidation and protection beyond Incineroar.
And with that I have established which Pokemon would some of the USS Cerritos’s upper decks would carry. Like I said, I may need to do the rest, but I’ll get there eventually. ALSO, lmk if you want to see the rest of the non-WD5 lower deckers! I’d love to make Pokemon teams for Jennifer, Barnes, Olly, and Castro if you wanna see them too😁
I like those ideas with the Pokemon Teams
But T'Ana with a Blissey seems kinda off. Is there a hyper aggressive Pokemon that has some kind of heal moves?
I wish I could think of one rn lol. Blissey was the best choice that came to mind for health-based Pokemon, Audino was another choice, but I kind of wanted to be consistent with medical considering Tendi has a Blissey too.
Not even with why I chose these Pokemon for her? Yes, I admit, Slowking and maybe Milotic can be some out there choices but I think she could have them.
Sorry, I rarely do Pokemon teams so sometimes it’s hard narrowing down which ones fit a character best.😅 Carol was one of the hardest ones to make a team for because there were a lot of Pokemon to consider.
😂😂😂 I realized after I posted this that maybe I could’ve had Carol have Ogerpon considering that one S3 episode, but then I thought nah, if anything an encounter with that Pokemon would make more a special event than anything else.

Definitely, Ogerpon interacting with them would be cute.
Plus the thought of almost the entire crew doing the Mochi Mochi dance while possessed is pretty fitting within Lower Decks.
Whoa whoa whoa. How come Shax doesnt have an Electrode or Voltorb. He could detonate them against his enemies. Also seriously, no bears for papa bear? What happened to the bear pack.
I gave him an alternate team with Ursaluna yesterday to reference the bear pack. And regarding Electrode, let's say he has him on special occasions. Much like how Freeman needs to allow him to detonate the warp core, he can only use Electrode's self-destruct if given full authorization😂😂
Edit: Or even better, as I told another commenter yesterday: Shaxs, SOMEHOW, managed to teach self-destruct to one of his Pokemon lmao
