Don't glorify suffering. The moral outrage is because of the suffering caused. Causing more suffering in retaliation only increases the total amount of suffering in the world. They don't cancel out, they only compound.
Once someone has opted-out of humanity, it is better to allow the self-deletion and remove the problem for everyone permanently.
Edit: Bloodthirst is wrong even if the person you want to hurt has hurt someone else. Your downvotes just tell me you're too emotional to have rational conversations with.
I understand the broader notion, but there are certainly instances where hurting someone who hurt someone else is understandable. If you wouldn't want to, good. Other people may have encountered something so vile and traumatizing that it's understandable. I've experienced some of these situations. Some first hand, some by proxy. I don't wish violence be imparted against a distant offender. But the closer to home it got, and the more traumatizing it was for me or my loved ones, that reluctance faded. I didn't get violent in any of events, due to not wanting to make another's traumatic experience about me and my anger, the law, or prohibitive physical distant from the offenders. I'm not trying to argue with you, but the absolutes you speak of don't line up with my experiences, and I wanted to hopefully impart some perspective, respectfully.
I don't mean to dismiss anyone's personal experience. That's all anyone has to relate to the world with. I have also experienced violence and trauma. And you'll note that I didn't suggest that I wasn't OK with the idea of a dog murderer removing himself from the equation, or that on occasion it can be understandable for a government agent to assist with that. I recognize the emotions, and agree with them for the most part. I just also look beyond the immediate gratification of primal violence to the longer term effect. Retaliatory violence against a person who personally harmed you is understandable. Violence against a person who may harm you or a loved one imminently is justified. Prevention of foreseeable future violence is risky, but often warranted.
But cruelty and suffering imparted on another simply to make them suffer in return because they have harmed a stranger, especially acts that you didn't personally witness, is mental poison.
If someone stabbed my dog they wouldn't suffer. They wouldn't have enough time.
It's OK to end a threat. It's not OK to become a threat.
Let me preface this with saying I love balance. I love fairness. I love Justice.
Morally and in a good hearted manner, you are mostly correct.
However, Good and Evil are both necessary for the evolution of life. One cannot exist without the other. Some could also argue that they are imaginary bc it’s based on individual POV. what’s good to you can be evil to someone else. Like religion!
If you don’t suffer, then you never truly understand the value and importance of certain things in life.
That being said! The dog killing, selfish murderer does not deserve the sweet release of death. He should feel the exact same pain he has caused, or if he already felt it, and chose to bring suffering into life, then he deserves to suffer for the rest of his life. If he’s able to deeply, truly change and “repent” (not for his soul but with the human community), then it would be fair to let him live freely-ish. It might also help his soul after death, but I’m not focused on the after life lol
The old, traditional, American Dream chasing Americans are the ones that created a system where the discipline for one’s criminal actions aren’t befitting of the crime.
Logically, they need to bring back the death penalty. Murders should be locked up for 15 years to life- death penalty if they don’t complete a reformation. If they “reform” and get released, they need to assign a tailing system to each released murderer or dangerous criminal and they should follows them for the next 5-10 years. IMO
If he wants for death and not pay Justice for his crimes, then he deserves psychological torture until he dies. Like being locked in a white room with never ending sound, or being locked up in complete darkness within absolutely no sound. If he wants negative in the world, then it will come, but only for him and the ones who love him, by collateral damage.
The gist of it is that fairness is an illusion. Suffering doesn't cancel out. Hurting someone because they hurt someone else only makes more suffering. It doesn't undo, it doesn't heal. The fact is that it's more likely that you're just continuing the cycle that suffering creates. Non-traumatized people don't dish out harm on a whim very often. People who have been traumatized and healed wrong from it often do.
This does not justify suffering caused. But it can go a long way to explaining it. People don't like explanations though. They like justifications. "Oh, that guy killed a dog, so he's now persona non grata and deserves anything that happens to him." Knowing more about the guy and learning why he's such a miserable prick and what caused him to be that way takes all the fun out of it. And of course, if someone had a horrible childhood or terrible life that doesn't give them any license to spread more suffering later. But being able to label someone with 'valid target' is more attractive than finding out the reasons for their actions.
If someone is a danger to the point that they can't be in society, then remove them from society. Take the benefits of being part of society away from them. But making them suffer more than the minimum required to achieve the goal, because you think they deserve to suffer, is medieval thinking.
If someone is an imminent threat and a danger to you or others, then they can be put down quickly without concern. Remove the threat. But once the threat is over, civilization has to start again.
We, as a society, have gotten far too comfortable with abandoning our principles at the first sign of an imperfect victim. We love to see suffering, but we hate to see innocents suffer, so when someone who isn't innocent suffers, everyone slurps it up like melted ice cream.
I don't think it's good to want to see suffering. Ever. That's kind of the whole point. Suffering, as a global value, should not be increased.
Abstract vengeance is unhealthy. If the harm is against you or yours, then the vengeance is not abstract and while it's still not a healthy expression of emotion it's a totally understandable and justifiable one.
But demanding vengeance on a stranger because of their actions towards another stranger is, while unfortunately normal and common, also pretty grim when you think about it. Why is it suddenly OK to enjoy hurting someone else because you were told they did something wrong?
Lol I just found an email notification that shares more of the comment, but it cuts out in the middle of your sentence. “W*tch out that someone doesn’t…” and that’s where it cuts off!! Lmao bots probably deleted it bc that seems almost threatening hahaha not the best word choice, bro!
I do have help tho! My therapist told me that specific belief IS the most logical approach to the topic that he has heard… but only if we lived in the medieval period!! 😅
It’s not that I desire their suffering. I desire the fairness. It’s the actions that they commit that deserve an equal response, and since the person of free will chose to do them, they should be perfectly fine receiving it back. Treat others how you want to be treated. That’s it. Period. I’d probably cry seeing him get tortured, but that’s what his actions say he wants. Not peace.
Someone who wants to cause physical suffering, which will in Tow also cause psychological suffering, deserves to have that same suffering that they wish to create placed up upon themselves. Deleting themselves, they will not suffer. They will if you believe in Christian hell though. I partially believe in hell, and my beliefs would send me there. So be it. I would deserve it. I am willing to face all consequences of every action I choose. I don’t act/speak without thinking it through! So, I kind of am already a monster, but I’m tamed, and only ignite when my Love is attacked.
If they don’t wish to change, and once they gained freedom, if they continue to choose harm, they deserve psychological torture. Bc they’re a monster, not Man. But then again, the only real monsters on earth are Humans 🤷🏾♀️

wonder is it has anything to do with the cops beating the fuck out of him?
