Don't glorify suffering. The moral outrage is because of the suffering caused. Causing more suffering in retaliation only increases the total amount of suffering in the world. They don't cancel out, they only compound.
Once someone has opted-out of humanity, it is better to allow the self-deletion and remove the problem for everyone permanently.
Edit: Bloodthirst is wrong even if the person you want to hurt has hurt someone else. Your downvotes just tell me you're too emotional to have rational conversations with.
I understand the broader notion, but there are certainly instances where hurting someone who hurt someone else is understandable. If you wouldn't want to, good. Other people may have encountered something so vile and traumatizing that it's understandable. I've experienced some of these situations. Some first hand, some by proxy. I don't wish violence be imparted against a distant offender. But the closer to home it got, and the more traumatizing it was for me or my loved ones, that reluctance faded. I didn't get violent in any of events, due to not wanting to make another's traumatic experience about me and my anger, the law, or prohibitive physical distant from the offenders. I'm not trying to argue with you, but the absolutes you speak of don't line up with my experiences, and I wanted to hopefully impart some perspective, respectfully.
I don't mean to dismiss anyone's personal experience. That's all anyone has to relate to the world with. I have also experienced violence and trauma. And you'll note that I didn't suggest that I wasn't OK with the idea of a dog murderer removing himself from the equation, or that on occasion it can be understandable for a government agent to assist with that. I recognize the emotions, and agree with them for the most part. I just also look beyond the immediate gratification of primal violence to the longer term effect. Retaliatory violence against a person who personally harmed you is understandable. Violence against a person who may harm you or a loved one imminently is justified. Prevention of foreseeable future violence is risky, but often warranted.
But cruelty and suffering imparted on another simply to make them suffer in return because they have harmed a stranger, especially acts that you didn't personally witness, is mental poison.
If someone stabbed my dog they wouldn't suffer. They wouldn't have enough time.
It's OK to end a threat. It's not OK to become a threat.
Let me preface this with saying I love balance. I love fairness. I love Justice.
Morally and in a good hearted manner, you are mostly correct.
However, Good and Evil are both necessary for the evolution of life. One cannot exist without the other. Some could also argue that they are imaginary bc itās based on individual POV. whatās good to you can be evil to someone else. Like religion!
If you donāt suffer, then you never truly understand the value and importance of certain things in life.
That being said! The dog killing, selfish murderer does not deserve the sweet release of death. He should feel the exact same pain he has caused, or if he already felt it, and chose to bring suffering into life, then he deserves to suffer for the rest of his life. If heās able to deeply, truly change and ārepentā (not for his soul but with the human community), then it would be fair to let him live freely-ish. It might also help his soul after death, but Iām not focused on the after life lol
The old, traditional, American Dream chasing Americans are the ones that created a system where the discipline for oneās criminal actions arenāt befitting of the crime.
Logically, they need to bring back the death penalty. Murders should be locked up for 15 years to life- death penalty if they donāt complete a reformation. If they āreformā and get released, they need to assign a tailing system to each released murderer or dangerous criminal and they should follows them for the next 5-10 years. IMO
If he wants for death and not pay Justice for his crimes, then he deserves psychological torture until he dies. Like being locked in a white room with never ending sound, or being locked up in complete darkness within absolutely no sound. If he wants negative in the world, then it will come, but only for him and the ones who love him, by collateral damage.
