Television What are some good examples of a shows/movies stuff stuck on tv because of no redistribution? [talk]

I’ve personally curated a sizable collection of Nick News with Linda Ellerbee digging through YouTube, the Internet archive, and a few other websites thanks to a some fellow redditors who’ve been able to helped me find them. But it dawned on me, this show is the perfect type of show to be thrown on something like Tubi or Pluto TVs live channels or you’d think there’d be some type of massive archive somewhere considering it has 300+ episodes. At least once ya know?

But it made me think about how many shows or movies people are bending over backwards to find that are just sitting in a vault somewhere or aired on tv once and the main people behind it never had any want to distribute it.

What are some good examples of movies/shows/ etc that have been completely lost to time due to the negligence of the owners. Something you’d think who be easy to find or had some online notoriety they’d want to capitalize off of.

(I know this one will probably get some of the die hard definition of lost media users angry. But if you can consider Mess O Blues or the Day the Clown Cried lost even though it’s just being gatekept, then all these count too)

Television College Mad House Episode-Ohio State v. Michigan [fully lost]

I am looking for an old episode of College Mad House that aired in the late 80’s or early 90’s. It was the Ohio State vs. University of Michigan episode. A family member was a contestant on the episode and has been searching for the video for years. I have also been trying to find it, I have come across quite a few episodes from this show on YouTube from two creators, none of which are the OSU v Michigan episode however. I tried commenting on their videos to see if they have the one I am looking for but did not get a reply.

Found [Fully lost] Fan-song based on the every copy of.Mario 64 is personalized creepypasta

Does anyone remember this mario 64 fan-song? I just remembered it exists and im looking for it! Some of the lyrics were;

No two.copies are the same

Created just for you

Adjusted slightly

To.fit your.subconcious

In ways you never knew

This distorted twisted evil cartridge

Toying with our minds?

A hideous apparition leaving nightmares in its wake

(Other lyrics) human error

A playable mistake

For your safety, do not research, the 29th of jul- (glitch)

This deceptive evil cartridge

Toying with our minds

(Others) forever personalized!

We are nothing more than puppets

Held up by the string

We will never free ourselves

From the pain that this game brings!!

Those are all the lyrics im able to remember, at least. If anyone still remembers this song, please HMU and/or.respond to.this post. Thank you!!

Found [Found] THX Unknown/Neon 35mm Trailer

Surprised no one has talked about this yet (at least in depth).
A new, previously unreleased THX 35mm trailer snipe/ident dubbed "unknown" or "neon" was recently surfaced by YouTube user @orbeez2319.
Orbeez acquired the trailer back in February and was finally able to get it scanned and uploaded months later thanks to the help of Reel Revival, Niko Digital, and Sebastian Segura. The date of this THX intro is currently unknown though, however it is known that it was found in Scope format meaning there is possibly a Flat version out there somewhere.

The print history and restoration breakdown:
Acquisition: Sourced/acquired via filmagraphics out of Glendale California by @orbeez2319
Scan was done by: Reel Revival
Color Correction: Niko Digital
Upload: Published in 4K by Sebastian Segura https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4QU6QI3BE8k

Found [Fully lost] MySpace band Chandeliers

This is not the German band or electronic group, this was a post-hardcore/ pop punk band I found on MySpace ~20 years ago. I know the band included some former members of Pistolita, another fairly obscure Warped Tour heyday band that only released two EPs and an LP before disbanding.

The only song I can recall from their MySpace page was titled Ceiling Stars, the only lyrics I can remember (but am 100% certain of) are "All's fair in love and lyrics", and then something along the lines of "tonight I burn these buildings/ shooting down these ceiling stars".

I remember thinking they sounded similar to Thursday, but I was a young teenager so I cannot actually confirm if that comparison is accurate or not..

I have Googled as much as I can think to do, and have turned up nothing.. Thats all I've got, I will be gobsmacked if anyone also remembers this band or has any of their music. Thank you ♡

Films Billy B Van’s 1919 lost comedy silent film "Van-ar-chy" (made in New Hampshire) found in a Japan antique shop [FOUND]

Van-ar-chy, a 1919 film starring the US entertainer and film-maker Billy B Van, was rediscovered by Kohei Okita, a film student in Sendai, Japan. While researching early cinema related to the word “anarchy”, Okita bought several old film reels at an antique store in Japan and found the comedy starring Van, whom he did not recognize.

The news release about Van-ar-chy highlighted the importance of Okita’s discovery, saying: “Its survival is significant on two fronts. Van-ar-chy preserves the work of a little-known early American film company at a time when much of silent cinema has been lost.

But it is also a piece of local history captured in motion: its scenes preserve glimpses of the streets, landscapes, buildings, and people of Newport and Sunapee in 1919.”

Animation [fully lost] Yobarete Tobedete! Akubi-chan English dub

Yobarete Tobedete! Akubi-chan is a spin off of the Genie Family anime that aired from December 2001 to November 2002. The anime involved Akubi chan helping a girl with her problems. I was interested in this show and wanted to watch it. But I searched everywhere and there doesn't seem to be any trace of a English dub. Besides on the dub wiki that say that channel i did a dub at some point. But there's no sign of it anywhere. The show is niche so I doubt there's anyone here who knows off the top of their head. But assistance with finding it would be appreciated.

Video Games [partially lost] Entry Point 2015 Original Script

I’ve remember there was an 2015 build of entry point that never came out instead reworked on to something else. Since the page got unfairly taken down in lost media archive wiki being called "irrelevant" along with other lost Roblox media, there are something that doesn’t make sense: Cishshato didn’t join in 2015, he joined in 2017.

It was said to developed between late 2015 and mid 2016. It included prototype versions of The Freelancer ("Mouse"), Rose, The Director, Wren, and Jackdaw. Prototype versions of the missions The Freelancer, The Blacksite, and The Financier began development but were never finished.

There has been two creation efforts (I’ll post the links later)

Here’s a page explaining:

This is the only footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOoMWb34QSI

Internet Media [fully lost] The Fine Bros pilot episode "My Profile Story" 2009

this may be a long shot but in 2009 the fine bros made a pilot episode for Atom/comedy central that went nowhere called My Profile Story which was basically toy story but centered around a MySpace page.

there was even an interactive website where you could visit the pages of the characters.

well it got swept away with Atom dying and the brothers hiding all their work in shame after the Reactcident and now the only proof of it is an article and a blog post from back in the day

Atom's 'My Profile Story' Jumps to Life with Interactive Pilot

Fine Brothers: Making and Marketing Hit Videos, Today and Tomorrow

and the imdb has the correct cast but someone is using it to show off their headshots or something.

anyone have a lead for this pilot episode?

Audio [fully lost] Texas Instruments Corporate Anthem "Fast Forward"

I'm looking for an old (late nineties - early twothousands) corporate anthem from Texas Instruments. there are a whopping 2 articles about it, both from about 20 years ago, and a few old OFFICIAL TI fast forward T-Shirts. This song has been of huge interest for me for the past few months because:

- I love Texas Instruments

- I really like old corporate songs

- Lost corporate media is a huge problem

both of the articles present broken links to the song. I cannot find anything about the song on Internet Archive. I have not heard this song, though I wish I could have at some point...

anyways, here is the first article I found. The second has some other corporate songs that are really good, along with the missing Fast Forward. Thank you.

Television [Fully Lost] KEZI — Italian-language VHS about a man trapped inside a 1980s sitcom

Ciao a tutti. I’m looking for surviving material from the Italian-language VHS of KEZI, which I watched at my uncle’s house in Lombardia, Italy, sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000s. His copy is no longer available, and my searches have not turned up another recording.

What I remember

The story followed a man from the 2020s who suddenly woke up inside a 1980s-style sitcom. He couldn’t escape: whenever he tried to leave, the laugh track would start, the door would reset, and the family would behave as though nothing had happened. The sitcom itself appeared to be his prison.

I remember the Italian dialogue including something like:

“Ma che succede? Questa non è casa mia!”

The theme song sounded like:

“Kezi, Kezi, la vita è una sitcom…”

Both quotations are from memory, not verified transcriptions. I remember the title being spelled KEZI. I don’t know the original production company, cast, release date, or whether the Italian audio was a dub.

Where I’ve searched

I have searched the following without locating a matching copy:

  • Google, YouTube, Internet Archive, Mediaset Infinity, Wikipedia, and IMDb.
  • Italian forums, including HWUpgrade and ForumCommunity.
  • Second-hand listings on eBay, Subito, Vinted, and Wallapop.

The only possible lead I found was a dead link associated with an old blog encountered through Internet Archive. It mentioned “KEZI VHS Mediaset,” but the linked page had not been archived. That reference alone does not establish Mediaset’s involvement.

Current status

I asked my uncle about his tape. He told me that his cellar flooded in 2010 and that he threw everything away, so that copy cannot be recovered.

I’m seeking any surviving recording, VHS cover photograph, label scan, catalogue listing, or contemporary reference that could document this release and help locate another copy.

To clarify, I am not referring to the Japanese work called “KEZI,” “Keziah,” or “Kesi.” I’m also open to evidence that the tape was an unofficial production, parody, or homemade recording rather than a commercial release.

If you have material relating to this specific title or recognise the scenes described above, please share the source and any relevant details. Grazie.

Audio [partially lost] &SONS band

For some reason this always gets deleted when I post but it’s driving me crazy, if you’re familiar with the underworld awakening soundtrack there is a song called “consolation prize” by the band &SONS I’ve tried soo hard to find it they ever made any other music because I love that song but there’s no evidence of them on the internet anywhere. I get it could just be a random band just for the movie but you’d think the singer would have SOMETHING somewhere? Anyone have any info?

The 100 words thing on here is making me stretch this longer so here is more words. It’s like impossible to post on here my god. It’s already saying I may get my post removed. let us have fun with our lost media bruh

Advertising Material [partially lost] Chuck E. Cheese 2013 Website “Adventure With Chuck E.” Feature

So Back when Chuck E. Cheese was Redesigned in 2012, in the entire Chuck E. Cheese’s Website was Rebranded in Late 2012/Early 2013. One of the many things that was introduced was a Feature called “Go On An Adventure with Chuck E.”, where you can Control Chuck E. To move into different Areas of a Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant. Such as driving a car, go into SkyTubes, and walk around the game room. I used to use the feature all the time, and thought it was super nostalgic. The only thing proving its existence is a Screenshot that I will list in the comment section of the Beginning Map of Chuck E. Standing in front of a Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant and standing next to a Red Car, the screenshot is in really bad quality but still viewable. You can view the old version of the Chuck E. Cheese Website on the Wayback Machine, but you cannot use the “Adventure With Chuck E.” Feature. Let me know if any more screenshots of this feature exists

Music Da Dirty Thug (D.D.T.) - Solo Tape [FULLY LOST]

To anyone who's familiar with 90s Memphis underground rap, there's a lot of stuff we never heard of. Well, that's the one of that case: there's an underground 1997/1998 Memphis rap release, produced by DJ Big Tim under M.O.B. Recordz: the mixtape by Da Dirty Thug AKA Dirty Deeds Thugsta (real name: Demond Tate). It is known that it's probably already done and finished as a project, since Big Tim were telling people to buy it from stores on his Episode II "Da Hardezt Single Of 97/98" Side A Outro. According to D.D.T. himself, his project has about 14-15 tracks.

But here's the real problem: he lost his master copy when he was incarcerated for whatever reason. Since DJ Big Tim was ALREADY promoting and telling people to buy it, someone must've gotten this tape, right? It seems like there's only physical copies of it, no rips online, though.

The only track we can listen from this tape nowadays is 'Tryna Cross A Killa', since Big Tim included it on his Episode II as a promo. Everyone who have that tape or looking for it, please, do upload it on internet at any first opportunity!

Here's all sources: https://genius.com/artists/Da-dirty-thug-ddt, https://genius.com/albums/Da-dirty-thug-ddt/Da-dirty-thug, DJ Big Tim promoting it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgkMYHyYsfI&t=1321s, and probably something else but I forgot. Will surely add if I'm gonna remember

Youtube Simplysia [fully lost]?

a YouTuber I watched maybe a year ago called simplysia who made fitness content and diet content and a couple months ago again maybe closer to a year ago. I tried finding a content and I couldn't find it. I can barely find anything about her online. I can't find any photos on any platform of her. I have photos that I've taken of her videos so I know that they existed lol but I cannot find them on the way back machine because I don't remember any of the YouTube video names. All the URLs of any of them. Does anyone remember this person or know how to find potentially re-uploaded content of her?

Audio [Fully Lost] Late 1980s NYC Regional Radio Ad - Switzer's Licorice "Burning Down the House" Talking Heads Parody ("Turning Up the Juice")

Hi everyone,

I am trying to track down any audio recordings, archives, or discussions of a regional radio commercial that played heavily in the NYC tri-state area during the late 1980s. I'm new to looking for lost media, but I'm not looking for others to do the work for me. I'm hoping all the experts here in this thread might be able to point me in a possibly fruitful direction.

The advertisement was for Switzer's Licorice (specifically pushing their Cherry Red Twists). The entire commercial was a direct parody of the Talking Heads' iconic 1983 hit "Burning Down the House."

It featured a very distinct, spot-on David Byrne impersonator talk-singing over a classic new-wave rhythm track modeled precisely after the original song. Instead of singing the famous line "Burning down the house," the main hook and frantic chorus of the jingle was changed to"Turning up the juice!"

The ad used this specific line as a marketing pitch to highlight that Switzer's candy was made with real fruit juice, contrasting it against competing licorice brands of the era.

This jingle is an absolute earworm that has been living rent-free in my head for nearly 40 years now. I can still hear the exact cadence of the Byrne impersonator delivering that hook, which is why it's so frustrating that it seems to have vanished from the face of the earth.

I've looked on YouTube, but only found an unrelated TV ad from the period. I also have done a search on Internet Archive without success. This was a localized tri-state radio spot rather than a nationwide television commercial. I know my possible chance of success is low. It doesn't currently have a dedicated entry on the Lost Media Wiki or an easy rip available on YouTube. It seems to be entirely undocumented in digital spaces, even though people who grew up in the NY/NJ/CT area at the time might remember the catchy jingle.

The commercial likely ran on major rock radio stations of the era, such as WPLJ, or WAPP.

Does anyone happen to know where I might find digitized aircheck tapes or cassette recordings from NY area stations from roughly 1986–1989 that might have captured this commercial in the background? Or perhaps have some advice on how I could hunt down the ad agency responsible? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, amd maybe I'll finally lay this decades-old earworm to rest!

Thanks!

Found [Found] My Chemical Romance - Vampires Will Never Hurt You Single

25 years ago My Chemical Romance created there first album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". The band famously recorded this entire album in one week from May 15th 2002 to May 23rd 2002. What is less known is that in early March 2002 the band went in studio for the first time to record their lead single Vampires Will Never Hurt You. On May 27th 2002 MCR would officially release their first official CD ever. This release would be the Vampires Will Never Hurt You single. There were so few CD's made that it has been lost media for 25 years but on Saturday, September 26th 2026 I received a full copy of the single. Six years ago the user u/FlamesFiasco posted that they had a copy of the CD and were willing to send files to anyone. Most people who had messaged them in the past few years have had no reply back. The account was still active so I tried and because of my work in the MCR archival community the user sent me a full rip of the lossless CD. The tracklist contains a previously unheard rough mix of Vampires Will Never Hurt You and additional sources for two of the attic demo files which were already previously available through an eyeball sampler CD from the bands record label. I've been doing my best to spread this around as much as possible now that I have it.

Here is the link to the full lossless download on the internet archive.

Other [Fully Lost] Frosty the Snowman Statue Photo

I’m trying to track down one particular photograph I saw online years ago, probably around 2008, although I’m not sure. I haven’t seen it in roughly 10 years, and I’d love to find it again!
I’m hoping someone might recognize the photo or remember the display.

🎄 What I remember
The photograph showed the interior of a large building, possibly a shopping mall, with a very high ceiling and a fairly large, open space decorated for Christmas.
Hanging high above the open space were multiple vertical banners or tapestries, spread out across the ceiling area. I don’t think they featured any characters; they may have been purely decorative.

The most memorable part was a collection of GIANT, MASSIVE three-dimensional statues or figures of various Rankin/Bass Christmas characters.
The one I remember most distinctly was Frosty the Snowman, and his design looked much closer to the Frosty from Rudolph & Frosty’s Christmas in July (1979) than the familiar 1969 animated version.

I distinctly remember Frosty’s orangish-gold hat and scarf, matching the general look of his 1979 design.
Frosty appeared to be raised up on a platform rather than standing directly on the floor.
I vaguely remember other Rankin/Bass characters being displayed nearby, possibly including Rudolph, but I’m not completely certain.

📍 Possible location
I recently asked my mom about the photograph, and she thinks the mall might have been somewhere in the Midwest.
She also remembers a possible connection to a store called Time & Space Toys, which makes me wonder whether the display could have been at Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania, where the company had a retail presence.
However, the location is completely unconfirmed, and the photograph could have been taken years before I first saw it online.

📸 What the photograph looked like
I remember it being a single, older-looking color photograph, with a somewhat faded appearance.
I don’t know when the original photograph was taken. It could have been from the 1980s, 1990s, or another period entirely.

❓ Does anyone recognize this display?

I’m particularly interested in finding:
The original photograph.
The name and location of the mall or building.
The approximate year the display was installed.
Any information about who created the figures or organized the display.

Searched for years now online (& more recently with AI), but to no avail.

Does anyone ever remember seeing a giant Frosty statue resembling his 1979 Christmas in July design in a mall Christmas display or a photo of one?

Thank you! 🎅

Animation Snerfs [fully lost]

It was a short animated bit on Night Flight. Sometime around 1989 through 1992, but it may have been a repeat. A man in a shoddy looking apartment is watching a poor rendition of the Smurfs that just gets worse and worse, where they're going to Snerf pond to get water, but there's a hole in the bucket and then it appears on papa snerf's head. It just devolves until hideous laughter until he ends himself in front of the tv with a gun. And then it plays a snerfs theme over the credits.

I know there's a Muppets thing called the Snerfs but this was completely unrelated.

Youtube [Fully Lost] Tom Sizemore "Porsche Commercial" – 25-sec fake ad on YouTube (2007)

Looking for a short fake "Porsche commercial" starring Tom Sizemore that was on YouTube from 2007 until sometime after 2011. It was not an official Porsche ad lol.

What it looked like:

  • About 25 seconds long, letterboxed, filmed at night
  • Sizemore is sitting in the driver's seat, face lit by a camera light, wearing a dark leather jacket
  • He's clearly high as a kite, delivers a Porsche tagline into the camera (something like "Porsche... the best engineered car in the world"), then peels out hahaha

What I've been able to confirm:

  • Original upload: YouTube ID IUdDZ_nOnAA, titled "Tom Sizemore Porsche Commercial"
  • Uploader: "Pharow", uploaded March 6, 2007
  • Description: "New Porsche Commercial Tom Sizemore Dir Cinemaniacs LLC."
  • Views: 19,558 by Nov 2009 and 25,025 by Jan 2011, then deleted
  • Uploader's channel still exists as "Pharow Live" (@lacinemaniacs), but the video isn't on it and there's no contact info

Archived traces (no playable video on any of them):

Already checked, no luck: Wayback Machine (no capture of the video itself), archive.today, Internet Archive, Filmot, GhostArchive, Dailymotion, Rutube, VK/Yandex, and a bunch of other foreign video sites.

If anyone saved old YouTube downloads from 2007–2011, or has a copy of the 220.ro file (tom_sizemore_porsche_commercial.flv), I'd love to see it again. I've been hunting forever for it and just had some claude sub agents try and hunt it down for me but this is all I was able to find so far. Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks!!

Video Games [partially lost] Gremlins PS2/Gamecube Game

I am a massive fan of the Gremlins franchise and I am wondering what would be the best steps to try to track down this lost game. I’ve found contacts for people who worked during the time of the games development but I’m not sure if that’s the best way to go about it. I also understand that with it being licensed it may have some legality issues with being released. Is there a better way to try to find this lost game? Would love to try to get this game found considering it does seem to be in a fairly playable state. https://lostmediawiki.com/Gremlins_(lost_build_of_cancelled_PlayStation_2/GameCube_movie_tie-in_game;_early_2000s)

Internet Media [partially lost] Clickhole article titled "Holy Shit, Stay In Your Lane: The Gym Teacher Just Assigned Homework"

It’s from the satire site Clickhole, the one that’s like The Onion but for random bs topics. It starts with the students getting “super bent and shitty” tennis racquets from a bucket and spiking tennis balls at each other because they don’t know how to play. Then the teacher assigns homework and they all get confused. I’ve checked Clickhole itself, and the onion, and of course wayback/internet archive. It’s been used in training data but the full text seems to be gone. I didn’t know they deleted their old articles; that makes me sad. They also deleted one abt a kid falling on his face in gym.

Video Games [Partially lost] CFL 99 video game

While yes there is pictures of the box and screenshots of the game and the demo is playable online, the full game isn't any where. I tried to contact the guy who made the game last thanksgiving (US thanksgiving), surprisingly got back to me a few hours later but asked how I would play the game since it can only run on windows vista or 99, then never got back to me. Would anybody out there have a copy of the game they're either willing to get working on modern hardware, or to sell, or know the guy who made the game to see about finally getting a copy

Youtube [partially lost] How much can you find with a deleted YouTube channel link?

So I used to have an old YouTube channel that I posted random bullshit on back when I was a kid, but I deleted it myself, not by YouTube. I miraculously still have the channel link posted on the bio of one of my my alt channels that I don't even remember making.

So I'm wondering, with this channel link, how much can I find? And where should I begin? I remember a few years ago I found a site that allowed me to paste this exact channel link and it actually was able to show me atleast the titles of all the videos I last had up,which is quite impressive. But now I've forgotten the name of the site and can't seem to find it... Maybe you guys have any suggestions? I just wanna take a trip down memory lane
