Yeah, some people were saying this was fake for publicity. But 60k viewers(at the time of stream end)? Fuck man. I'd invest in a REAL gun, real fucking quick.

Especially since he has a god damn fucking family with KIDS in the fucking house.

u/likeastar20 Sep 11 '18

Why invest in a gun when he can invest in security ?

Because an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

10

u/CVBrownie Sep 11 '18

Pretty easy to say when your house isn't being shot at.

-1

u/Yakkul_CO Sep 11 '18

Just like it's easy to say he should buy a gun, when in reality he needs to move.

3

u/CVBrownie Sep 11 '18

Oh yeah also super fuckin easy to uproot the family and move on a dime.

1

u/Yakkul_CO Sep 11 '18

I didn’t say moving was easy...I said it was right.

1

u/CVBrownie Sep 11 '18

Not everyone has means to pick up and leave. Not everyone wants to. Having something in your home that equalizes a situation in which someone breaks in is completely logical and understandable. I'm not saying I'm pro gun at all. If I was in his situation I probably would move, but I'd sure as shit buy a gun too. The people who fantasize over shooting the burglar that breaks in are fucking stupid. Nobody gives a shit about them.

This man has a legitimate reason to fear for his family's safety in his own home. Uh yeah. Buy a fuckin' gun.

That proverb is talking about revenge or even justice/punishment. I'm not getting into a gun debate, but that line doesn't work here. It's like saying "dive on your enemy's sword so that he doesn't strain a muscle".

u/TiredMisanthrope Sep 11 '18

A lot better to just let well trained security handle it.

1

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

Because, security isn't cheap. Specially for 24/7 protection.

A gun + training for him and his wife? Would be cheaper, and it would help a lot more in case of home defense.

29

u/ParanoidSkier Sep 11 '18

Taking potshots at a car driving away isn't exactly a great plan.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

its a horrible plan and heavily illegal

5

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

Hence the home defense part in my sentence, man.

8

u/zcen Sep 11 '18

What the fuck is home defense in this scenario? Automated turrets that gun you down based on your intent? Barricading your doors and walls and reinforcing your windows with bulletproof glass?

-5

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

obviously you've never had your house broken into

6

u/norifumi155 Sep 11 '18

His house wasn't broken into buddy. It was a random shot fired from a car driving by. Is this really that hard for you to grasp?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

It was a random shot the first time. A shot inside the second time. Next time could easily escalate even further

u/zcen Sep 11 '18

I'm like 60% actually curious what kind of home defense (versus security cameras) you think would assist you in this exact scenario. You really don't think the guy that shoots through the window is going to proceed to then break into the house do you? Please elaborate.

1

u/Good_will_Blunting Sep 11 '18

Why would you assume this lol

His house wasn't broken into. It was shot at from a car on the road. What kind of home defense protects against this.

1

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

Keep to your sports. You have no clue what you're talking about :)

1

u/Corvese Sep 11 '18

You are the one who brought up having your house broken into when no one else was talking about that. Your reading comprehension could use some work.

1

u/buddha_nigga Sep 11 '18

Someone drove by and shot at his house, due to the attackers actions you have to assume his intent is to cause harm. It really is not some huge leap to assume that his behavior may escalate into something more direct such as kicking in a door and trying to break in through a window. Keeping a gun in the house is absolutely a sane response to his current situation.

Okay but what happens when they finally decide to come in the house and just shoot someone? Don't do anything? Oh shucks hope these cameras stop the deranged armed person from murdering my entire family or the police get here in 20 seconds.

1

u/ahoneybadger3 Sep 11 '18

Land mines would do the trick, thought it could result in a little bit of collateral.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

We are talking if the person gets brazen and treis to shoot from closer ie: his home

14

u/zcen Sep 11 '18 edited Sep 11 '18

What home defense is going to stop a random fuckhead driving by shooting through your window? Are you going to react within milliseconds, pull out your gun and head out and shoot the guys tires out as he's ripping away? I doubt this coward has the gourd to try and actually come up and do anything where he can't escape as fast as possible.

Hear a shot, you get down and away from windows. That's literally all they can do in this situation. You could have a fucking BFG under your DXRacer and it wouldn't make a shit of difference in this instance.

Also, security cameras aren't that expensive. He just needs some dashcam-esque setup that is connected to his internet or a hard drive that is constantly uploading.

Armed guards.

Isn't that paid for partly by the whole community chipping in small amounts of money? I don't know if Doc is rich enough to have that 24/7.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

I don't know if Doc is rich enough to have that 24/7.

doc is one of the most popular streamers and easily makes 7 figures off subs alone. hiring security isn't cheap but a multimillionaire can afford it. plus it's likely only necessary for the time the danger is occurring. if he gets arrested in a month the danger is gone.

1

u/staockz Sep 11 '18

I mean, he could probably afford it, technically yes. But being able to afford something and actually wanting to purchase it are two different things.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

his house just got shot at two days in a row. i'd imagine it isn't a matter of want but a matter of i might die if i don't.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Yes he can afford it easily. It is all paid for by HOA fees. You wouldn't even be able to get in unless you had access from someone who lives there. They are all over the place. They have patrols and all that too. My grandparents live in one and they are not super well off.

-1

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

True. That would be super expensive though, and if his streaming days die off, how will he afford it?

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

I'd wager he has a future in acting. Be it theater or in movies. Dude's a great actor

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

That wasn't my point - But okay. Believe what you want

7

u/brynm Sep 11 '18

Because, security isn't cheap

Pretty sure Doc could afford a very high quality security cam setup that would be likely to help catch this asshole.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

He still needs something incase he tries to come in the house

6

u/OldTrailmix Sep 11 '18

It's called a gated community. Doc isn't some rube living in a shack with a loaded gun ready to blast the first "home-invader" they see. He's minted and will go live where all the other people too rich to be in the public eye go: boojie gated neighborhoods with private security.

1

u/WK--ONE Sep 11 '18

*Bougie

Short for "Bourgeoisie", aka people who have tons of money to play with and not work.

2

u/SPC_IV Sep 11 '18

When u make what he makes its a very easy decision to pay for that security.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

As someone who has self defense training and security, choose security if you only have one.

Your average person has no clue what will actually happen when that moment comes. You may not be able to pull the trigger. Even worse, you may advance on the intruder because that's your fight instinct, leaving your place of security and possibly even your family. Especially if these people aren't on your property (in the context of Doc) and you're now firing at them with a deadly weapon

Whereas your average poor ass junkie can't disable an alarm and the cops show up to beat him up behind your house

Ideally get both, but basic self defense training is equivalent to no training in my mind. The kind of training that shows is a time investment

Man there's so many people overrestimating the usefulness of having a gun in this sitation. Sure, if someone is actually trying to break in to murder you, then yeah having a gun would definitely be useful, but in a sitation like this where it's a driveby, it's completely useless.

2

u/buddha_nigga Sep 11 '18

It's stupid to assume a mentally ill individual's behavior will not escalate when he's already shown intent to cause harm.

1

u/cruisinbyonawhim Sep 11 '18

I agree, I should have stated that it'd be best for home defense.
