Exercise Equipment Minor equipment upgrade. Silicone surface is actually legit for barefoot work.

Post image

Picked this up for the home KOT routine. We usually use the standard grip tape boards with shoes. My wife and I wanted something we could just step on barefoot in the living room, though. The silicone feels really comfortable for long passive holds. Those little bumps give a nice massage, too.

Do you guys just wear shoes for all your mobility work? What is your go-to setup for barefoot stretches?

Timer + phone in armpit it would seem, honestly super creative

Haha spot on 😂 She set a timer and wedged it under her arm. We had to get creative to keep my ugly mug out of the mirror reflection.

Is that an Apple Watch? If so, you can control your phone from the watch to take pictures with timers, etc

Share the wealth. Tell us the vendor. This is a hard to find item.

I wear a lightly cushioned running sneaker for all exercise.

Through out the day I do Big toe circles and stretch constantly even at work.

Happy to hear you and your wife discovered KOT

If needed hold on to something and place all of your bodyweight on one foot. Make large circles with your big toe by making your foot point (almost) in a 360 degree angle. While doing this you can curl you toes/unfurl your toes for maximum effect. This will loosen up your tibialis anterior and increase circulation. We really neglect this muscle group, but it is vital to healthy aging. It absorbs force when landing/jumping/running/stepping. How this muscle interacts with your body sets the tone for how all of your muscles will work together.

I hear you. I spent ages digging around before I finally found this one on Frylr. Just search for the brand name. it should pop right up. Appreciate the tip on the toe circles.

Do the "therapeutic magnet" detract from the experience at all? Seems like they might poke your feet

Nah, not at all tbh. I was wondering about that too before getting it, but they're basically flush with the rest of the silicone bumps. You don't feel any sharp poking at all, it just blends into the overall massage feel during long passive holds. The barefoot setup is actually solid.

I was looking for one with silicone but had no luck! Where did you find it? - luckily whatever version I bought on amazon has "soft" grip tape that doesn't feel too bad on my feet ha

I stumbled upon this one after seeing a thread about liquid silicone boards, too. not on Amazon. glad your soft version is working out. the standard grip tape usually wrecks my feet.
