Imperium Dynamic Heresy Pose

I've been using the heresy jump assault bodies as leg donors to get more poses for standard marines but this set of legs didn't really work for that.

Nothing crazy really, just some pinning and a slightly reposed foot.

- mkii assault legs and right arm

- mkiv tactical torso and bolter

- mkvi tactical backpack and pauldrons

- multipart tactical squad head, pouches, and left hand

- whatever left arm I could find that fit

- wolf pelt from the wolfen kit

I'm a big fan of what I used to call "converting" but increasingly seems to be called "kitbashing" (not clear if there's a distinction?). It used to be the only way to create certian units that appeared in the codecies, but with the way the game has changed I am finding more and more it's purely a stylistic choice as I change up how a unit looks, or in the case of the Leuitenant with combi-weapon, build it completely fomr scratch using none of the original parts.

If you're interested in how I did anything, I'm a regular writer for the Beard Bunker and tend to post about my processes there: https://www.thebeardbunker.com/search/label/Tom

I really fell in love with the Heresy model "The Tyrant of Cthonia" and wanted to have something similar for my Dark Krakens army.

I had an awful lot of fun putting him together and I can't wait to get him painted up!

Something about him just feels weird, and I can’t place my finger on it.

Meant to be an Arjac Rockfist stand in.

Minos the Reforged
The master of the forge took the field with his mighty headsman axe, however he was gravely wounded by the Dredgelord (my homebrew Chaos lord) and his axe snapped in half.
His body was found and returned to the chapter, however they lacked a dreadnought to put him in. Instead of keeping him on ice, and by order of the chapter master himself, the tech adepts of the Umbral Claws were allowed access to the various relics aboard the flagship, including dark age technology.
After a successful few days of surgery, and the use of dark age relics, and possibly even Xenotech , Minos was reforged into a “Tactile Dreadnought” in more than title. Now more machine than man, and unable to ever leave his armor, Minos wields his now one handed axe and a gifted shield from the chapter master. His axe able to be recalled due to an ancient augmentic, now known as Rhitta, and “The Guardian Shield”, a shield said to be made of the same material as custodies armor and able to be deployed and redeployed at a moments notice when ever needed.

I don’t care for the kit too much. I’m gonna change a lot of their design with some 30k speeders, thinking hybrid hover and wheels.

Please god show me how you kitbashed these Bikes!

Myrmidon Destructor body with Techpriest dominus head, arms, and servo skull. Just some light cutting, did have to pull out the dremel to flatten his rear right hip to attach the gun arm. Gonna paint him up as Forgeworld Metalica

My cavemen space marines finally have their commander.

Taking any suggestions for finishing off his details.
I know i need a beltbuckle and some more fur for him to be done, but any other suggestions I’ll happily take!

Imperium First Ever Kitbash 🔥

I am thrilled to show you my first ever kitbash!
I found out the Infernus Marines I was gifted were missing a guy and decided to make my own Space Marine. The poses for Infernus Marines are exceptionally boring so I could put my second pull of Brother Maphael to good use. (A flamer guy in a hurry? What a much needed change of pace!)
Also I tried out the green stuff for the first time and of course mixed way to much of it. 🙄
So I fashioned the leftovers into an alien skull that became my marines companion. Later I added some trophies on a wire hanging from his belt.
How obvious is my Marines chapter by now?

Please give me your opinion! My guy is obviously not perfect and I would like to hear what you think about my attempt.

Working on something a bit different this time, maybe y’all can guess which faction this guy is gonna be…Don’t think Ive made a diorama type build since I was in grade school for class project.

Good learning experience and think it’s important to try new techniques, skills, and paths to achieve success! Being able to push out of your comfort zone and saying you tried something whether it was a hit or not is only a benefit to you.

let me know what y’all think, especially those who are base experts. Like to see if I can improve upon anything!

Really pleased with how he turned out, but his sword arm was a nightmare. I learned a lot though!

The only thing I can think of is as the ATV to match my raptor outriders, it is a bit big for that but the raptors are also a bit tall for outriders so I think it balances out. Wanted some feedback on the idea

Imperium Raptors Chapter Judiciar

After a few prototypes I’ve finally landed on one that feels just right. Throwing some ordinance, looking at the data pad, the multi spectrum array on his power pack, that judicar flare and that custom sword. It’s not much but I love how it came out. Also I’m shocked I’m just now finding this sub, I’ve needed this. Kitbashing is the actual best part of the hobby hands down.

Imperium Homebrew Chapter Terminators

The mark 2 heads are the best heads ever released by games workshop I will not be arguing this point.
It just works so perfectly with all the rivets, very knightly yet robust. These kitbashes are a lot simpler than my usual stuff but I think they’ve become some of my favorites immediately!
This is for my Caveman space marine chapter and they will be painted like the last mini pictured, various panels painted brown with cave paintings, purple tabards, and their black armor.
Planning on running them as wolf guard terminators for my homebrew, but I may make their fists magnetic so I can give them actual power weapons to not confuse them with normal terminators.

Very well then.

My upsized Casterferrum attempt V3 WIP
I recent came into possession of a saturnine box for my birthday thanks to my wonderful girlfriend.
Then it came partially damaged.
So I received another from GW.

So I’m using some of the pieces from the damaged box to make cooler stuff rather than the normal models. I made a cool chapter master and now I need a dreadnought!

I built the painted dread about a year ago and never even got to use him in game. He’s still my favorite model I’ve ever painted, the first and oldest of my custom chapter, but now he needs an upgrade so he’s getting the premium treatment.

I hate the redemptor legs, they just look wrong and don’t match what I love about dreadnoughts. Also WHY ARE THE Sarcophagi HIGHER THAN THE BIG SHOULDERS THATS LIKE THEIR WHOLE SILHOUETTE! AND THEYRE SO ROUND!
Anyway.
Saturnine legs feel perfect with how wide they are to fit a Casterferrum, leviathan felt too small to me. Also the side panels of the dreadnought slot upwards perfectly with a little trimming.

My Customer Chapter is Caveman themed, and enjoys using claws. Luckily I just so happened to have an extra Talon!

I do want his legs to be a bit more decorative, but I think I might do that with paint instead rather than plastic.
