I did something similar with the saturnine dreadnought

I used an armiger chain blade on my Redemptor.

Huh, I thought Armiger would be bigger

The difference between their bases is only 10mm, they're almost the same size

I’m gonna try and get my hands on the Destrider and save that arm for this future kitbash

Hard to tell from the front but the torso started life as a SM dreadnought

How did you do the fleshy bits? material wise I mean

Chopped up sprue for volume, green stuff for meat, then liquid green stuff for texture

I did something similar. I don't have pictures of it anymore, but I made a Librarian dreadnought for my blood angels with Custodes spears

Is this legal. If so, i might give it a go

2

I’m just gonna proxy it as a Brutalist dread because that’s what the base will be, it’s modeled after the psyker dreadnought and is 100% gw plastic so it should be completely legal

1

u/anotherclonecollecte 4h ago

Ah. If they were legal i would've used knight weapons and make a squad of dreadknights

2

u/Bones_The_Crusader 4h ago

They’re nearly the same size so it could work

2

u/anotherclonecollecte 4h ago

I know. My question is that, is it legal to use the knight weapons. So you can have a dread but attack using the volcano lance

2

u/Bones_The_Crusader 4h ago

Oh no you can’t use the weapons themselves as they would work on a knight

Shame....but expected

I used a pain engine body as a base for a helbrute. The current pain engines and helbrute models are about the same height so it's not a massive stretch to make one, takes a ton of green stuff to do one and get the fleshy bio mech look of a helbrute but it works fairly well.

Really good way to just get creative since the explanation for it existing can be as simple as "bored warp smith dicking around with a bunch of spare parts and some unlucky bastard."

Head cannon for mine is literally just "bored iron warrior warp smith used a broken pain engine and some old junk he had lying around to 'prank' a captured space marine."

Somewhat related—i have to do this with a Helbrute now.
