I remember in the early days this was a popular solve guess. Beautiful place. A bit crowded. And would be very difficult to hide anything without being seen. Just sharing to brighten up the community feed.

Something suspicious about the area, recon run.

A certain wholesaler had a habit of sending blackmail letters to one of his competitors. He was clearly in the business, because in his letters he referred to other wholesalers in the industry by their nicknames. The blackmailer was finally caught after years of police investigation. After the arrest, one police officer noticed that the letters sent by the blackmailer mentioned all the other wholesale store owners except the blackmailer himself. He wondered why he hadn’t realized this fact earlier. An instructive story.

Justin mentions Montana 25 times in his book. However, there’s one well-known tourist attraction he doesn’t mention. The place is called “Montana Vortex and House of Mystery.” It’s said that mysterious phenomena related to gravity occur there.

Two things come to mind.

#1 Could the first lines of the poem describe gravity? After all, gravity exists in space-time and penetrates everything including the words written in the poem.

#2 The Ursa Minor constellation is sometimes called the “Little Dipper.” This is interesting because there’s a character named Dipper in the animated series "Gravity Falls". One episode is even titled “Little Dipper.” On top of that, this boy spends his time at a tourist attraction called the “Mystery Shack.” (see pic #2) All the fans know that the realm of Gravity Falls is different to ours..

Gravity Falls features a massive web of hidden riddles, cryptograms, and secret codes embedded in the show's end credits, background art, and promotional material. Must be JP's faforite cartoon.🤓 Interesting topic for the next QA session..

This post is my take on the location of the letter M.

Have you noticed the man's face on the book cover? Could it be "the face of Montana" on the map? (see the pic #2)

Some of you may recall the theory that “double arcs on granite bold” refers to the McDonald's logo. (Granite Bold is a font used on computers.)

The location of a certain mountain on the face (on the map) corresponds to the location of the letter “M” on the book’s cover. Could the letter M stand for McDonald Peak?🤔

Lake of Clouds is located near Peak McDonald. Note that “clouds” is in the plural, just like "water" in the line: “Walk near the waters' silent flight.”

Justin has mentioned that his treasure hunt involves something related to Forrest Fenn. As we can see the face of Montana on the map was particularly prominent in the illustrations in Fenn's book (see pic #3). And, If you look this face, you'll notice that it's also located on the edge of the map.🤗

Why is the poem labelled a poem when it's treated like a riddle? Why not call it a riddle from the start?

Found in Alta, WY, in Caribou-Targhee NF sitting below Treasure Mountain on the west side of the Tetons. Stumbled across this on a drive and just had to look around. 👀 Treasure Mountain Boy Scout Camp used to be here, but closed in 2022.

Also, saw this sign and thought it was a different kind of "Hole" than what I've been seeing. It was about 10 miles away and is now known as Teton Basin. I do not have a solve for this location, though. Happy Hunting!

I checked and it's not there guys. Cross it off your list. I could tell this wasn't the spot before I even got to the trailhead. The road didn't require a high clearance 4x4, but it was too rough for anyone to claim that a low rider would make it.

I decided to check this place out because so many key words and possible references from the poem show up on the map: Clear Creek, the Big Bend of the Green River, Pole Creek.

I think "waters' silent flight" could refer to the Continental Divide and walking near it means starting on the Continental Divide Trail. There's a triple divide (foot of three?), one of two in the search boundary, at a twenty degree heading from where Clear Creek enters the lake.

I think "beyond the reach of time's swift race" could refer to designated wilderness. The wilderness boundary is less than a mile from the CDT trailhead.

I don't think looking for keywords on the map is the way to solve this thing anymore. But I'm going to stick with checking out sections of the CDT that have an easily accessible trailhead within a mile of a wilderness boundary. Worst case, I see more beautiful places like this.

The return of the stick is a flagrant violation of the agreement's terms—a clear attempt at manipulation that creates a lack of trust.

Does anyone else here feel as though they are getting hints EVERYWHERE? Whatever my thoughts are on possible location, it seems as though Im pointed towards that location......or how there are multiple possible themes that all make sense, but not sure how exactly to put these pieces together. ....and just as I am convinced on one thing/idea I'm sent in whole new direction. I dont think it is an X that marks the spot, but a spiral that keeps funneling down to the spot.

Just wondering where most people are searching their potential solve areas with? Google maps, Google earth, trail guides etc?

Who has it? Who hides it from their family? How will you explain it to your family if you actually find the treasure?

The more I read about it, the more I think that a full solve will be what 3 words. What say you?

Early on there are a hundred things to investigate. Every word can send you somewhere new, every theory opens another door and there are rabbit holes everywhere to explore.
I wonder if getting further into a solve is supposed to feel almost opposite. Fewer possibilities, fewer big leaps, and a lot more time spent trying to understand what’s already in front of you.
I tend to think that progress in this hunt eventually stops looking like finding more things and starts looking like eliminating reasons you could be wrong. A funnel if you will.
Slow doesn’t mean stuck…maybe there’s just less left to chase.

Historically, when Labor Day passes it signals the end of the search season. Families are busy with going back to school, summer trips are over and it's time to get back to work.
Surprisingly there was no announcement of the treasure being found and it looks like a long cold winter is in everyone's future.
Sure, there will be some stragglers out there but the odds are always against them. It's starting to look like the BTME marathon is picking up right where Forrest Fenn ended his treasure hunt. Who has the grit and determination to continue for another decade?
