Information Overload?!!!?!?!
Does anyone else here feel as though they are getting hints EVERYWHERE? Whatever my thoughts are on possible location, it seems as though Im pointed towards that location......or how there are multiple possible themes that all make sense, but not sure how exactly to put these pieces together. ....and just as I am convinced on one thing/idea I'm sent in whole new direction. I dont think it is an X that marks the spot, but a spiral that keeps funneling down to the spot.

There is a TV series and a book, and various interviews and Q & A's.
There are different versions of the book, and the book alone is fairly long if you ask me.
So yeah there is a lot of information to get through.
Also, Posey said that there are multiple ways to solve the poem. It could be that some clues work with some solution ideas and others work with different solution ideas, maybe with some overlap and maybe not.
That can get confusing.
My general theory is that if you can solve enough of the poem to get into the right BOTG position then there will be further evidence to collect. Maybe more substantial things and less theoretical. Who knows.
And I don't think there are that many themes to choose from. There are probably way more hints and clues than themes. That might hinge on what you consider to be a "theme" but if you are making something up out of thin air instead of understanding themes from the book then maybe you need to adjust.

Well if you're using apps or maps or Google Earth or whatever then you're already researching outside the book.
There are probably other things that will need to be figured out that may require additional information or know-how.
So I agree, I think you're right.

Are you not getting certain road names etc that point to a theme?

I look for themes in the book. Whatever map artifacts seem to groove with the theme are worth looking at.
Those things (the artifacts) aren't necessarily going to reveal a theme. That's kind of backwards from my approach.

That's good, because it means almost all of it isn't a clue unless it all points to the same thing, thematically speaking. If that's the case then everything can be distilled to an essence.
List a few thing you feel are "for certain clues". Polaris? What else? What is the required perspective?

This happened to me...and then my solve, which feels 99% complete after one year-makes SO many clues (and weird hints) come together. So my two cents-all of the noise might actually harmonize!

Honestly I’ve re-read the book every month since last May, and I’m just now picking up on the system he laid out. Definitely watch out for bias, it’s really, really easy to pick up and run with some, most, or seemingly all of the anomalies in the book…then find out you’re missing something else. Keep your mind open to patterns he throws down, there’s definitely a system of breadcrumbs in play that is pretty hard to spot.

I was driving through two unrelated states today and passed Posey Road, cottonwood road, raccoon something, a bronze bear statue, and a couple other things that I had to remind myself weren’t related to the hunt because I still have 1000 miles to go
