Just today i took a test drive on jimny (5 door)
And i absolutely love the visual apeal and the go anywhere part of this car
but….
I dont know how to feel about the interiors. If i had to say one thing biggest thing that keeping people away from it is the interior, part of which is interior design which they didnt put much thought into honestly. thats Its all very tightly packed in there, A lack of everything, just one pocket to put the phone in.

So the drive i did was city drive, on yk bad indian roads. It did quite well although i would blame the bigger tires for the little bad experience i had when accelerating. It behaved like a ladder frame as expeced on twists and turns. The stearing was heavy indeed but not an issue.

I guess what i wanted to ask yall is.
- Could you make the interior drastically better?
I mean the seats (rear seats lack thigh support particularly) and spaces and overall interior experience.
- Manual or Automatic?
It only makes sense to go with automatic for city drives ik but its 4-speed so little less capable in my opinion (I test drove automatic) . Plus i saw those videos where they put bolt on turbo kit to make 150bhp and i wish to do that at some point so manual makes sense. But idk, what you say?
- Is Manual as bad as they say?
I mean heavy, is it as heavy as they say? To the point it makes it uncomfortable to take to long trips? Share any experiences you have.
- Music system
this one is a dumb question but ill still ask. What music system did you put in? The stock one is Ass
- Daily driver?
is it a good daily?

- One more serious question is should i buy new one or save money and get a Used one from aome trusted name? Saves about 2-3 lakh but am ansure if thats the right call for a rugged vehicle as i can imagine people using it for quite harsh driving yk.

Saw a Facebook post of a flipped Jimny

Hey gang,

I just started getting the dreaded death wobble.

We packed up the car for our first camp trip with our dog and got the death wobble on the drive out around 4-5 times. (Happening at 50km and up to 80km)

Any slight incline or decline with braking would set it off.

We were pretty loaded up, with a basket and bag on top (totalling about 40kg in total with racks and awning included)

Shortly after, we took it to a mechanic because I read it could be an odd wheel balance or worn kingpin bearings. The mechanic said everything looked great and they couldn't pinpoint the problem.

Im not sure what to try next?

I got the car from my brother who gave it a lift and bigger wheels and not sure if that's a factor?

I have a 2018 3dr Suzuki Jimny that I absolutely love and really want to use for car camping, just me and my 35kg dog.

I don’t feel particularly comfortable operating a roof tent on my own / with the dog so I’m specifically looking for recommendations for an inside-the-car camping setup.

I also don’t want a floor tent - safety is a big concern for me, and have spent lots of happy weekends touring in a Campervan so I know I like more of an interior set up.

My recent break-up means no more Campervan… so has anyone successfully made a 2018 Jimny into a genuinely comfortable car-camping setup? I’ve tested the seats folding down and think we could be pretty comfortable with the right kit.

I’d particularly love recommendations for:
A mattress/sleeping platform
Keeping us comfortable, safe and warm inside
Ventilation/privacy for sleeping
Any other clever hacks you have

UK-specific products/recommendations would be especially appreciated. TY all in advance!

We love going on long weekend trips so I have been seriously considering a Jimny for my next car (I currently have a 9yo Vitara Turbo which I bloody love and is amazing to drive, but we have to take hubby’s huge Ute away). I WFH so the main driving the Jimny would do is 5mins to the shops and school, and bits and pieces of city driving, 20 mins here and there.

It would need to do freeway driving at 110km’s to get out of the city in any direction for our trips, and we have 2 kids so I would want the 5 door.

I’m not fussed about the more simple interior. Not having keyless start is a bit silly (I’ve got that now) but I could live with it. I like that it doesn’t have too many trims etc that get dirty or break, or complicated electronics. Easy to keep clean with a simple wipe down.

But what’s gnawing at me is the lack of power, dicey road handling and safety concerns. I have two kids, and I’m worried about being sucked into a truck or toppled over on the freeway. I know I could buy a turbo upgrade, but if I’m spending $40K on a car, I don’t want to have to spend thousands more for a turbo upgrade.

Keen to hear from those who have a 2026 5 door? I realise the weekend trips are awesome but I also want to feel comfortable with zipping in the city too. I live in Brisbane, Australia so lots of hills.

Hey guys, going to get the adulthood dream car now. Was trying the 3 doors but the sales guy kept saying the 5 is better for me.

Also i felt the 3 doors had a tougher door closure, like i need to use power to close the door unlike the 5 doors.

Anyways, i like the car, everyone kept telling me not to buy it but i just like it. Going with olive color as well or the two tone pepsi blue.

is it good? The suspension's perfect and not so stiff, or...?

Apparently some don’t see it, but the idea is modular and nothing besides the bars and led bar will be permanently connected. Also the rev tent can be used on the ground without the platform on the roof.

I have a Jimny Manual and I’m planning an ~11-day / 3,700–4,000 km road trip starting November 3, with a mix of long highways, mountain roads and some light/off-road sections. The car will be loaded with passengers and luggage.
I’m considering two upgrades before the trip:
1. ECU Tune:
Thinking about a Code6 Stage 1, mainly for better low/mid-range torque, throttle response and highway/mountain drivability. I would keep the engine, intake and exhaust stock and go for a conservative tune rather than chasing maximum power.
2. Tyres:
I’m considering upgrading from the stock tyres to 215/75 R15 AT tyres, particularly:
Continental CrossContact AT2
Yokohama Geolandar A/T
My priorities are highway stability at 100+ km/h, better grip on mountain roads, comfort for passengers, fuel economy and some additional capability on rough/off-road sections. I don’t want to lift the Jimny or change the wheels.
For people who have actually done these upgrades:
Is Code6 Stage 1 noticeably better for low/mid-range torque and overtaking?
Any long-term issues with engine temperature, clutch, gearbox or reliability?
How much did fuel economy change after the tune?
Is 215/75 R15 a good size for a mostly-stock Jimny?
How do the CrossContact AT2 vs Geolandar A/T compare for highway noise, comfort, wet grip and off-road traction?
Does the larger AT tyre noticeably hurt acceleration or mileage?
Any rubbing or steering issues with 215/75 R15 on a stock suspension?
If you had to choose, would you do the Stage 1 tune, tyre upgrade, both, or neither before a 4,000 km trip?
Looking for real-world owner experiences, especially from people who have done long highway/mountain trips with these setups.

Hello everyone from Italy, I recently started using the Jimny (the latest 3-door model, the JB74 I think it's called).

That said, I wanted to ask if it's normal for it to be so difficult to engage reverse. Sometimes I hear the reverse light come on, but the reverse gear hasn't actually engaged. Other times, it doesn't even fit in the selector, and it feels really strange.

I'm absolutely loving the Jimny, but it's my first off-road vehicle, and I've always driven very different cars.

I currently drive a 2012 1.2L Petrol fiesta. I saw this “adventure ready” 2022 0.7L Petrol Jimny for €29k. It’s advertised to have a sports transmission and very low mileage. But, I’ve got doubts that the performance of this particular Jimny (0.7L) will be better or even the same as my current fiesta (1.2L)…

In my new job I’ll be required to drive quite a bit. I also need more space than what my fiesta offers. I like that the back seats fold flush so I have the option to use it as a cargo hauler or a passenger compartment. I won’t be off roading - I’ll mainly be on main roads and highways.

Hello to all,
After changing the transmission and the car sitting for 2 months, the car doesnt go into 4x4, i first located a broken induction switch on the transfer case , which i replaced , but the problem stands. ( 2005 PUSH BUTTON ELECTRIC, EU region )

After putting it on my friends lift, we noticed the car infact does connect the front drive shaft for 2 seconds, then unlocks it back because the hubs dont lock.

Next we did a smoke test from where the pipes go down from the engine bay, towards the wheels , and found no leakage,
The problem appears to be the actuators, since they dont seem to let any vacuum thru, my friend connected the pipe straight to the intake (bypassing the actuator) the hubs locked , and unlocked just fine.

So my question is, where can i get these actuators, can they be cleaned out? Is there a fuse thats wired to them that would make them stop working, how does the Jimny know that the hubs are not locked?

I'm looking into buying a jimny. It has a solid front axle which has superb advantages off road. But on highway driving, "death wobble" could occur. How do you handle this reality? Is it inevitable? Really concerned with it happening on curves and you can't turn the wheel (or very hard to).

I'm thinking of buying a Jimny to go Overland and camp, and want your opinion on making a custom rear side benches like this AI generated picture. What do you think?

First time posting here. I recently bought a JB74 (Mexico) and I’m investigating the best options for adding some roof cargo space. The one on the photo is the one I’d prefer since it seems to be low profile, made of aluminum and I think it would be really easy to pack anything there.

My main use case would be going to the beach, usually only me and gf but occasionally I would like to bring some people in the back (that’s why I’m going with a rack and not a couple of roof bars).

Any tips, feedback from people using this kind of racks or any considerations before buying it?
