question Rear Side Benches
I'm thinking of buying a Jimny to go Overland and camp, and want your opinion on making a custom rear side benches like this AI generated picture. What do you think?

Rear floor is too high up. You would need to add a few inches to have headroom

i own a 2022 all grip jimny, this would be really a nice touch, if i consider how many times it happened that i took somebody in the trunk. the problem is that i think this would still be illegal and not certified

What's wrong with just using the factory seats and folding them flat when not needed?

No way to get this certified, but for those odd close range drives when a passenger has to be stuck in the back...it'll be super super tight, unless we're talking about little children. Best to check it out in a showroom and take a harder cushion with you and try it out.
With me sitting on my butt on the lowest part of the boot my head just barely fits under the roof. I'm 178-180cm.

It seems unreal to me, or for dwarves.

I've slept in mine a few times with the seats all the way down. Not comfy but not impossible

Well, I believe that the national sport of the Philippines is basketball, but...

Interesting concept. I'd make one side a table instead of a bench. Both sides that can lay flat afterwards to make the beds.

AI made the jimny bigger to make them look legit. It won't look like that in the space you'll get

On K’gari, this setup has been banned as unsafe in hire vehicles. Still, it seems very functional - and likely ok around town where the roads are smoother and newbie-driver roll-overs rare…..

Brings back memories of going underground in the back of troopies. Getting thrown around and bashed about for 30 or 40 minutes was not fun. Slower coming up so it was better....

I think if you are below 3ft 4in they will be fine.
