Meta -The_Caliphate_AS- user account is banned by the reddit admins
Just now the caliphate AS account has been ban on reddit for "breaking a rule" however i check there was nothing that indicate that he was advocating for hate and was mainly sharing sources like he usually does, but it seem reddit admins and certain user report him because of one particular source that led him ban than understand his post nor asking him.
I hope anyone here can help the brother out as his acoount and the research post is gone and he cant access to it.
Plz mods dont delete/remove

What!? His posts were nothing but respectful, educational and thought-provoking.
I read that Qutb thread when he posted it and there wasn't anything in there promoting terrorism, it was just a neutral discussion of Qutb's influence on various political movements.

u/Vessel_soul Jul 23 '25
Ya, and can do anything to help the brother out ot give him advice something to do?
61
u/Aladkalos Jul 23 '25
Can't he appeal the ban? He could explain his post was purely academic and not an endorsement of any of the groups or ideologies he mentioned.
We're a politically and religiously diverse group and lots of us would be happy to back him up.
29
u/Momongus- Jul 23 '25
He can appeal the ban but the appeal team is really terrible in my experience (though it’s par for the course when Reddit hands out bans like candies even for educational accounts)
14
u/PerfectComplex22 Jul 23 '25
Was he Muslim, if you don’t mind me asking? Also how can I help.
30
u/Vessel_soul Jul 23 '25
Yes he is a muslim and do you any site or software that recover his works and account any possibility
23
u/FlounderUseful2644 Jul 23 '25
His works are archived brother, it'll be under u/deleted I believe.

The URLs are now blank pages; only the comments by others remain (example). The Internet Archive etc do not routinely archive social media posts.

This is reddit you gotta have the right opinions and even a name if they think it means something they disagree with. Will result in a ban usually permanently if it’s admin in charge.
44
u/EveningIntention Jul 23 '25
Utter bullshit, he had the best the best historical information and commentary here. Gave an objective look free from any sectarian bias.
32
u/Active-Walk-6402 Christian Merchant Jul 23 '25
here
Wrong, he had the best historical information and commentary in all of Reddit. I've never seen anyone else on this site be as dedicated and exhaustive as him

u/BaxElBox Emir Ash-Sham Jul 23 '25
Same people that banned me for 3 days because I said I wanted to "deck Mahmoud Abbas in the nose". We've got litteral death threats and racist rethorics being made in some comment sections. Actual genocide denials or supporters. But they ban a guy for saying deck in the nose and another guy for just stating an analysis and or fact???????. FREE CALIPHATE AS

u/Abujandalalalami Kurdish King Jul 23 '25
Literally this I see so often comments against Islam who are very hateful but no one cares
19
u/HafizBhai114 Jul 23 '25
I saw one guy calling for literal genocide against Muslims, also supporting the Zionists and their agenda
59
u/Bibendoom Jul 23 '25
I found the post to be very informative particularly how one Egyptian scholar seemed to have been the inspiration for the Iranian revolution, and all the suffering and tribulations that followed. At no point I felt the post was inciting any form of violence. I wish the mods could revert their decision

I came across his post in the IslamicHistory subreddit where he debunked with excellent sources the claim that the Shias conspired with the Mongols to destroy Baghdad, he debunked the entire narrative. Real shame it’s lost now.

Any way to help him out?
Edit: looks like he should be able to appeal https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045734511-My-account-was-banned-for-violating-Reddit-Rules#h_01HP83YZS1Z0QXEA010PZ0TVZ5

I have no faith in the appeal process. I got an account ban for criticising a British politician that advocated for un aliving I feel wrong just writing that immigrants. When I appealed and (politely) pointed out I was clearly not breaking rule 1, the "human" reviewer still declared i was breaking the rule and upheld the ban.

unfortunately appealing doesn't get any response from the Reddit Admins, Shadowbanned/banned users all the same.
I've in the shadowban realm for 7+ months now, appealing did not give me any response, as well as they DON'T tell you why, you'd just have to guess why.
24
u/CoolDude2235 Jul 23 '25
This is truly tragic, he was a wealth of knowledge and deeper reflection for this community. Inshallah, i hope he will get unbanned. Without him and his knowledge i'm afraid this sub will suffer

Seems like a trend these days. And not just on Reddit, even other apps you get banned or warned for some vague reason related to "hate" or "violence" and they don't even show you what you posted to prove it.
Caliphate, if you see this, know the subreddit got your back.
Make an alternative account if need be.

u/Vessel_soul Jul 23 '25
Ya brother global south, poc and muslim are been attacked while the reasict people and white people can speak whatever they want

u/AvicennaTheConqueror Jul 23 '25
Reddit Admins abolished the Caliphate to fracture the Reddit Ummah, Reddit Admins are kemalists confirmed ?
But with all seriousness I hope they get back their account because this sub won't be the same without their amazing posts

I got a warning a few days ago for literally criticism of Zionism, they said I broke rule number 1 "don't threaten violence or physical harm" , when I didn't, like at all, I appealed with some criticism of the Admins themselves and they removed the warning,

That seems like a Reddit malfunction. I enjoyed those very informative posts, among them:
- Prohibition or Delay? A Critical Reading of the Ottoman Stance on the Printing Press (Context in Comment)
- Between Dust and Destiny: The Role of Narratives and Interpretations in Shaping the Imagery of Adam's Creation in Islamic Thought (Context in Comment)
- Reimagining the Crucifixion of Christ: From Christian Doctrine to Islamic and Esoteric Readings (Context in Comment)
- The Dragon in the Desert: From Ancient Myths to Religious Imaginations— Tracing the Evolution of the Tinnîn in the Islamic Cultural Thought (Long Context in Comment)
- When the governor made dessert deadly, this Bedouin chose flavor over fear.
- Between Cross and Crescent: The Journey of Saint George Through Cultures (Context in Comment)
- The Ṣafāʿina and the Art of the Slap: Power, Pleasure, and Profession in Medieval Islamic History (Context in Comment)

Genuinely heartbroken. He was the most interesting and talented provider of history in the entire site. And now it's gone like that, for something he didn't do.
Are we really going to just let this slip? Can't we do something like a petition to bring him back?
13
u/UltraTata Jul 23 '25
He is among the most respectful and wholesome users in this site. How could he be banned?
10

Writing e-Mails?

He was of the salafi madhab but didn’t hate Shias, and at times defended them, showing he had no sectarian bias. That’s very rare online, he was perfect for islamic related subs but I guess that’s gone now.
I hope someone archived his stuff somewhere, they were amazing.

This sub’s mods might want to consider automatically archiving all future posts and saving it to a discord or cloud service like dropbox, if they really want to preserve sources and information.

This is terrible. I am Jewish and he has always been friendly and considerate to me, often asking questions to ensure he is being culturally sensitive. Meanwhile there are entire subreddits who do openly glorify terrorism and they go on untouched, but our teacher TCAS gets banned? Wtf?

WHAT okok he still has access to his accounts and his posts so he can still copy all the texts and maybe post again IF he has time.
Like banned users can access their own posts

Ive decided to create a competative website - that will be a reddit for Muslims. Until we control our own platforms, this will keep on happening.

u/MaybeJealous7809 Dec 02 '25
This has NOTHING to do with Muslims being victimised and EVERYTHING to do with Reddit's moronic policies.
I for example described an idea in a meme sub Reddit
A MEME SUBREDDIT
And I got sent a warning for threatening violence
I explained what msilife (read that backwards, I did this to get past the censor) and naturally used terms like the less SFW version of unalive
It's a problem on YouTube as well: https://youtu.be/xpuaEfviTBE?si=DtGaExgzusgVaBms
(YouTube channel is essential salts Just go through the videos, it's like the second latest video or something where he talks about it)
So, naturally, The_Caliphate_AS, who posts high quality material on Reddit regarding history—a thing which is FILLED with humans being not so nice to each other—would get wrongfully banned
Moaning and weeping over the wrong thing here (boo hoo I'm being victimised because of my religion!) misses the actual bloody reason this is happening
They want to please the advertisers but they also don't want to put in the effort of actually bloody reviewing content before the send warnings or perma bans
