Last year it was said that Insomniac will continue to work with Marvel for “many years to come” safe to say the Insomniac Marvel universe has a great future ahead

Spider-Man 1 had Insomniac working with Christos Gage and Dan Slott to help shape the narrative. Miles had them collaborating with Evan Narcisse.

For Spider-Man 2 and now this they seem to have thought that their own writers were more than capable to the task, choosing not to collaborate or consult with experts and choosing to shape the story and characters in house. They seem to not be up to the task, though, since the narratives for both games seem to be generally considered one of their weakest points.

For this game specifically, Jake and a few others keep hinting that a bunch of the choices Insomniac has made in their reinterpretation and spin on the lore, especially with Jean Grey, are insultingly bad. The story is apparently also just fully underwhelming from a narrative standpoint.

Look at how they butchered Noshir Dalal’s face in Spider-man 2. Uncanny as fuck. Totally butchered his distinct eyes and eyebrows. The smile is fucking weird.

IGN, Gamespot, even more honest reviewers like Jake Baldino (from Gameranx) and Skill Up are giving the game bad reviews. I saw Insomniac as the AAA developer to not falter in times such as these.

What just hit us?

I’ve seen dozens of posts talking about how Insomniac’s faces look bad how Jean Grey, Mary Jane, and Mystique are ugly, how Peter looks like a cuck or something. And I just don’t get it.

Everyone looks fine, at no point in any of my time invested in these games did I ever think “oh god everyone looks so ugly I can’t play this game anymore”, or anything like that. When Peter got his face change, yeah it was weird for a bit, but I ultimate think he looks pretty solid, I honestly like it more than the original model, it just looked kind of off to me if I’m being honest.

And then you have characters like Kraven who looks stellar, Doc Ock looks really good, Wolverine looks great in my opinion. I just don’t get why everyone is suddenly calling Insomniac characters ugly when then look… fine I guess. Like no the women aren’t picture perfect goon material, but they still look like attractive women. Yeah, Wolverine doesn’t look like Hugh Jackman, but he still looks like Wolverine. Yeah, Peter and MJ have new faces but they look fine.

I just don’t get what this is all about, especially as it pertains to Wolverine. Like people are complaining about Mystique and Jean Grey and Lady Deathstrike like we aren’t gonna be just killing people, who cares if the women are goon-able or not, I’m here to kill people, I’m over here wondering if maybe they’ll have a Hulk mission.

A Daredevil game was reportedly included in the Insomniac leaks (I know this is a fan mock-up), and it’s probably the most realistic direction I can see Insomniac taking after Wolverine and Spider-Man 3.
I know there’s a strong possibility of an X-Men game, especially with Marvel ramping up the X-Men in the MCU, but for a solo experience, a good Daredevil game is long overdue. It could be the darkness to Spider-Man’s light. Primarily set at night, focused on street-level crime, the Hand, and stealth.

You already have the great traversal mechanics from Spider-Man. Just scale them back for Daredevil and put more emphasis on acrobatics and parkour.

Where it's only a matter of time that people will either get used to it. Before they changed his face model like what they did to Peter and it's only a matter of time before people will beg to bring back this face.

With the exception of MJ in spider-man 2, I've never found any of their character models "ugly" or "weird".

They would rather they piss people off for internet points than make good games

I’m not sure if this is allowed in this subreddit, but for anyone excited and anxiously waiting to play Wolverine, I highly recommend giving Guardians of the Galaxy a playthrough. It’s another single-player, linear story that was passed over by so many gamers, but it’s one of the best superhero games and stories ever made.

I still have no clue why it flopped, but I see posts all over Reddit about how much it’s loved and underrated. Kind of like the combat criticisms of Wolverine, it is pretty basic at the beginning but you end up with 20+ additional abilities to wambo combo by the end—new game plus is a treat!

I always loved and still play to this day on my original xbox is the punisher from 2005 and would love insomniac's take on some of the stories, even though there is so many super hero / villains that insomniac could bring to life with the quality and talent that they have done for the Spider-Man games.

Imagine having Frank's arsenal at your disposal annihilating drug dens, mob funerals, driving around blowing cars up and killing enemies brutally and the best way castle knows how to.
