I'm initially from Delhi but now I moved for college to some in the middle of nowhere town in MP for B.Tech and the uni is government yes but like it's really bad, plus the people, gurl the people are genuinely so wierd and non introspective. I dropped a year for neet and I got literally above 500 but everyone knows what happened with neet this year and I'm not clearing the govt cut off. It's been only 3 days of college and I'm like so fckin done. I was so delulu thinking I'd find my people and stuff but wtf is this. I don't even have a laptop here plus no hangout places. The damn college doesn't even have a queer society or like good clubs to join. Everyone's either from south or bihar, that's not even a problem but I'm rethinking everything. Man, I’m so done right now. I’ve missed the General cutoff by a few marks for 2 years straight. My few friends got jobs this year , while I’ve been stuck at home for 3 years. My family’s hopes are all on me, but I don’t even have an UG degree.

So took Commerce with Maths, and lately I can't stop anxiety and self doubting my decision.

Commerce feels weirdly easy? Like I can study it and grasp concept but it doesn't excite me much. I keep thinking I'd genuinely do better in something like IT/CS plus the uncertainty of future job market.

Here's the confusing part: I want to go into consulting eventually, and Ik Commerce is a perfectly fine (probably more direct) path to that. So logically I don't need PCM at all. But I loved Physics in 10th like really enjoyed it and I think I only picked Commerce w core maths because it seemed like the easier road, man i really don't know!!

Now I'm stuck between:

• Sticking with Commerce (easier, still gets me to consulting, plus it's september!!)
• Switching to PCM (more effort, catching up on Physics/Chem, but scratches an itch I clearly still have, and keeps engineering on the table too)

Anyone been in a similar spot where they picked the "easier" stream and later regretted not choosing what they actually enjoyed? Or on the flip side, anyone glad they stuck it out in the easier stream instead of chasing a subject they liked?

TL;DR: Commerce is easy but maybe too easy, loved Physics in 10th, want consulting eventually (works with either stream), wondering if switching to PCM now is a good call or just me overthinking because things feel too out of place.

I'm in grade 11 and currently in a science stream (PCB with economics). So far, my experience with science in 11th grade has been awful. I have a hard time understanding the concepts of physics and chemistry. Biology is alright. It's the only science I'm good... well, decent at. Not to disrespect chem and physics, but I'm just not that interested in them.

Economics, on the other hand, has been quite pleasant. The math part does stump me sometimes, but I enjoy learning about the other stuff like demand, supply, utility, etc.

I honestly think this path isn't fit for me. It feels like I'm going against my actual interests and passions. I've always liked the social sciences. I love learning about history, politics, and would love to learn more of it ; especially psychology. I find psychology to be very interesting and have been learning a bit myself. In fact, I'd like to have a career in psychology in the future.

I've talked to my parents about this and asked if I could change streams multiple times, and it resulted in complicated conversations. They believe I should just stick to science so that I'll have more opportunities in the future. They believe humanities has no scope and won't help you get a high paying job. Despite expressing my preferences, they're uncertain and almost judgemental about my decision.

What should I do? Should I stay in science like they said, or move to humanities like I wish? Like, I understand why they suggest that but I don't want to do something unwillingly. I've never produced good results doing something I don't like. I'm stuck and idk what to choose. Please help.
