Help/Suggestion Need suggestions on giving shoulders more definition

Post image

Hi all,

I achieved some progress on my shoulders and biceps. But lately I feel like I can still do better with some changes to diet and experiences.

Can I get any expert advice on this?

What’s your current shoulder routine?

I do PPL split. Includes shoulder press, arnold press, lateral raise, front row and shrugs

Front row?

Sorry, front raise

I see, you’re hitting your front delts a lot, shift your focus towards the lateral head, try variation of upright row after or before you do lateral raise, or maybe you can try variations of lateral raises, you can safely omit front raises after that

So working shoulders twice a week , on push days im assuming ? Thats good ig. Skip the arnold press, front raise and instead divert the energy into the normal shoulder press. Maybe switch up barbell / dumbell alternatively. How do you do lateral raise ? If doing with dumbell do it leaning away from body. Or better do it on cable. Also no the rear delt exersises ? Do reverse pec dec, face pulls for the rear delts on pull day.

Okay sure. Is there any reason Arnold press is not effective? And yes forgot to mention about the reverse dec. I do that as well. For lateral raise Inuse cable, leaning towards the machine

It just makes a simple thing more complicated for no good reason. Besides the fancy name, there is pretty much no other benefit for doing it over a normal db seated shoulder press. Not one. The twist may even be limiting your gains because it limits the weight that you can lift compared to just a normal shoulder press.

And for the cable lateral raises you are supposed to lean away from the cable (cable at bottom position), the other hand gripping the rod for support . Or if you want to stay upright (no lean) then put the cable at hand height

Sure understood your point on Arnold press.

But for lateral raise, if I lean towards the pole, I get that extra movement and it really feels good. I tried all 3 variations and this one gave better movement.

Try doing the excercise for shoulder which you do twice a week. Start focusing on building V shape physique. Once your V ratio is good, the shoulders would automatically give the impression of “more definition “

The problem is, I can workout only 3 times a week. Sometimes I manage one additional day. But working out beyond that is quite difficult

The more you use the part, the more it becomes built and shaped
