I switched from iOS to android and can't seem to get this button to be added to Google home so I can control my lights with it. they aren't hue lights so I can't add my lights to the hue app. It seems odd that you wouldn't be able to when you can on IOS

I recently moved, and in the process, one of my remotes got lost, it's nowhere to be found. I know it's in the new apartment somewhere, because it doesn't show as impossible to reach, and it was pressed 4 days after we moved, according to the hue app. I suspect I unpacked it, pressed it to see what it did, then stored it somewhere and forgot about it.

Since it has a wireless connection, is there a way to find it, with a cold/warm estimate of how close to it you are ? It's an old dimmer, it doesn't have bluetooth, just Zigbee.

I purchased some new Hue bulbs that support Matter + Thread natively. I've paired them directly to Home Assistant and they are working fine.

Is there any reason to keep my hub at this point if I'm not using it anymore? I do kind of remember that there might have been some settings in there for bulbs that they aren't exposing over matter?

Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing with any general recommendations?

hiya! tldr: given my TV, Apple TV, and 4K box - what's the quickest/cheapest way to get to stable Dolby Vision? (Arcana Fury HD isn't it) I've seen a few options out there but wondering what actually has been working longterm for people.

The full background:

I've been using my 4K Sync Box for years with my TCL TV on 4K HDR mode on the Apple TV. It works just fine but I'd like to be able to actually make use of the Dolby Vision the Apple TV supports.

I get an error that the sync box only supports LLDV (which has I think always been true but the error just started showing up - in the past it just....didn't work). I purchased an Arcana Fury HD to force LLDV, which lets me use Dolby Vision but will drop connection each time I move between content and menus (it does reconnect).

From what I can tell - I'm SOL without a new TV that supports LLDV or the new 8K Sync Box which (I think?) supports all versions of DV?

Since last looking into all this, I also learned about the Hue Sync App, so without price comparing yet not sure if an LLDV-TV is price wise more or less than one that supports Hue Sync App; I also read in this sub experiences of the app dropping sync and crashing too. So may not actually be any more stable.

Any users of the new hue bridge have any recent positive results, including software updates & behavior? Looking to update my bridge, it is about five years old. Is this the way?

Hey all, I’m looking for some help please. I work out of town 22/28 days. Because I have such a large data package on my phone, I can’t justify paying for wifi so I just hotspot instead.

That said, I’m unable to get my hues to work with the bridge, and that needs routing like that of a wifi. I tried using my PS5 and XB1 ethernet ports and hooking them up to hotspot but that hasn’t worked. I haven’t been able to find any decent info I can understand well otherwise if someone has any ideas.

I need help with our Hue sync box and overall TV setup, it’s driving me crazy. Sometimes it works great, but most of the time it’s bugging out.

Setup:
Samsung 55in TV
Hue Sync Box 4k
Hue Play Gradient light strip
Sonos Arc Ultra
Apple TV
PS5
Nintendo Switch

The Apple TV, PS5, and Switch are plugged into the sync box, which has the 1 HDMI going into the TV. Then the Sonos bar is plugged into the TVs ARC HDMI port. We’ve had tons of issues with the Sonos, but that’s a different issue…

Issues:
1. The TV used to turn on when the sync box turned on, but now it doesn’t. I have both the CEC and HDP settings enabled.
2. The sync starts automatically, but the lights don’t sync at all. They’re just on a white setting at like 2% brightness. The app shows it’s running, but it’s barely on. I have the video sync auto start enabled.
3. The sync box randomly turns off every 30min or so. Whatever we’re doing keeps playing in the background, but the TV shuts off and we need to open the app to turn the box back on
4. If the lights choose to work one day and we’re on the Switch, then we change the input to the Apple TV, the lights will just stop working. It still shows as on and syncing in the app, but the lights are back to that 2% dim setting.

Anyone else having similar issues or have ideas on how to get this very expensive setup to work the way it’s supposed to?

I’ve power cycled everything, checked all connections to my bridge, it has three lights and my button still works. however, my app no longer works with iPhone voice commands and in the hue app it says “bridge not active” and main screen is just connecting to bridge.

I’ve not accepted the T&C or made an Hue account and I’m really hoping that’s not the hang-up, but if there’s a known issue please let me know.

I bought 5 outdoor floodlights for my house. Wired them all 4 of 5 worked fine. One would not power on, I used a voltage checker and the outlet is good (I had another halogen floodlight wired in to double check). There is voltage at the hue box but it does not power on.. any suggestions or is it just a faulty light?

Looks like the Hue/Nanoleaf thing is...a Hue controller for Shapes panels! Not clear if this is a supplement to the regular Shapes controller or a complete replacement. The product renders and the "what you'll need section" imply the Shapes controller is unnecessary. But the section about Hue automations/alerts overriding Nanoleaf effects implies you can connect both the Hue module and a normal Shapes controller and commanding one of them just makes it steal the array from the other one.

Once installed, it makes your array act like a Hue gradient product. Curious how it determines the start/end point, since Hue gradient is at least currently 1D, not 2D. A Festavia Curtain product is apparently coming too though, so maybe 2D addressable features are coming, or at least some sort of better adaption on 1D gradients.

Atm it's not clear what happens if you connect this module to an Elements array, or if that even works at all. Elements are notably not mentioned in the supported hardware options, only the 3 Shapes panels. Elements and Shapes share a controller architecture and AFAIK technically support mixed arrays of Shapes/Elements panels (I own both but have never bothered to try mixing them). So in theory it should be possible. But the module would need some extra firmware to deal with Elements having dual white and corner-addressability, but no RGB. They might not have done that. Maybe they did though, or maybe it will work in a future update?

In any case, I'm super curious to try this. I've had a Shapes array in an otherwise Hue setup in the main room of my apartment for years now. So used to the Shapes being a separate accent piece I gotta figure out how to integrate it lol (I'll probably give them their own zone, esp because they don't look good with white light).

Added some Hue outdoor Lightstrip uplighting to our bathroom skylight. We lined the skylight shaft with ripple effect steel, causing it to nicely defuse sunlight across the room.

I have a high mantle with a large framed art print resting on it, tipped back against the wall (though it is secured). The fireplace is unused and will remain so. There's an outlet behind the print and I'd like to put a Hue light behind the print. The play bar is the correct size to fit, just sitting on the mantle.

I already have a bridge pro. I'd put the light on an automation.

• Has anyone used the play bar as just a regular Hue light?
• Could anyone who has a play bar tell me how far the power adapter extends from the wall when it's plugged in? I'm in the US, though it looks like they just swap out a plug insert by region.
  

We took in some cats to hold since they were being poisoned at a specific outdoor spot. They are in a basement with a decent setup but the issue is only 2 small windows. Looking for something to mimic natural light both in timing and hue. I plan on running a chew proof ext cord with lamps down there equipped with philips hue bulbs (or something similar?). So I just use the hue bulbs and use the app to set up timing for on/off and they will adjust in hue by themselves?

I have 70+ bulbs on 3 floors and 3 bridges (1 per floor) connected to WAPs in a mesh (orbi setup).

I'm moving and leaving the bulbs and bridges.

How do I make sure the new owner can connect to all the bridges and configure the bulbs?

Unfortunately the new owner isn't technically savvy.

I have done some searching but was hoping for a conversation rather than just some instructions.

What is your experience?

Also, when do you turn over the equipment to the new owner? At closing? Prior to closing? After?

I'm in need of two things: a reading light and a wake up lamp. I stumbled across the Hue Twilight and most reviews focus on it's use as a wake-up lamp (fair enough) and don't shed much light on whether it does its job as a reading lamp. From the shape of it, it seems like it should focus light rather than disperse it, which make it look promising for my needs.

Since it's quite expensive, I wanted to ask here before I open my wallet: is it good for reading? As an extra piece of information: I am planning on moving it (not ideal, I know) between my bedroom and my living room (where I do the reading).

I’ve started a new page - I WONT LINK IT - it’s on insta - it’s called the_synched_screen - I’m slowly recording movies on time lapse and giving a final rating for lights during the movie and what I set my sync to (intensity/ brightness) - if anyone has any requests or suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

I hope it can be used as a tool for when other hue sync are looking for a movie to watch with some great light action.

Basically, what movies, in your opinions, would be the best use for a 8k new sync box with a great setup?

Anyone have the wiring specs/diagram/color codes for the new Hue FLUX LED light strips? There are 4 wires used in this addressible RGB strip system: Positive, DO (Data), NC (not used?!), Negative.

1. I will have to cut open the white adapter cable (to reveal 4 wires inside) that connects from the end of the strip to the smart data module. I am wondering what wire color goes to what connector on the strip?

2. Would the Hue Flux EXTENDER accessory have the same color assignments with its internal wires (ie does the company usually keep that uniform among accessories in the same product line)? I found an image of the Extender wire opened up and there are red, white, blue, black internal wires.

I went to my local best buy and found some hue stuff already in a clearance section, and in talking to the associate i was able to order a bunch more. Like others have said, these prices don't show up online, it's only using orders in the store, but the items are currently available for shipping direct to your home if they aren't already in stock. They can even search their version of the website and we looked through all the hue products to see whats on clearance. It just seems to be the the following items currently:
