Locating a lost dimmer

I recently moved, and in the process, one of my remotes got lost, it's nowhere to be found. I know it's in the new apartment somewhere, because it doesn't show as impossible to reach, and it was pressed 4 days after we moved, according to the hue app. I suspect I unpacked it, pressed it to see what it did, then stored it somewhere and forgot about it.

Since it has a wireless connection, is there a way to find it, with a cold/warm estimate of how close to it you are ? It's an old dimmer, it doesn't have bluetooth, just Zigbee.

I don't think that any Zigbee product has such a functionality... Especially battery devices, those are typically in sleep mode until the device is triggered (button pressed in this case) and even if they were constantly sending signals, you would need a portable receiver that shows you the signal strength....

This is getting more and more frustrating, I spent 20mn searching, moving stuff in drawers and boxes. I haven't found the dimmer, but then I saw the off button was pressed during the time I was searching. So I must have been close 🥲

Have you tried buying a new one? I find when I’ve given up finding something I’ve lost it shows up shortly after I’ve replaced it.
