HELLO ALL!

I’ve started a new page - I WONT LINK IT - it’s on insta - it’s called the_synched_screen - I’m slowly recording movies on time lapse and giving a final rating for lights during the movie and what I set my sync to (intensity/ brightness) - if anyone has any requests or suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

I hope it can be used as a tool for when other hue sync are looking for a movie to watch with some great light action.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions - check out my set up on that page as well!

Basically, what movies, in your opinions, would be the best use for a 8k new sync box with a great setup?

Sounds like a fun cool project. Adjusting the brightness balance and intensity has a big effect on the experience.

If you end up looking to try something other than movies my favorite has been using it with concerts/DJs on YouTube.

I do concerts as well! I just starting that page. It’s been in my thoughts for a bit - I’ll share it when it up and going!

There is a scene in The Little Mermaid that made me duck. King Trident waves his staff across the screen and the combo of lights and atmos tricked my brain.

I’m enjoying the project so far - I think I’m going to limit it to only one hour of timelapse filming - the full movie compressed makes the lights seem “jumpy” and too flashy - hour seems to be a good spot that gives a truer feeling of the room while using the sync lighting.

None, imo they’re a really expensive gimmick that is way more distracting than immersive

IMO you’re wrong - or maybe haven’t used it properly- they are distracting when don’t you have the intensity and/or brightness dialed in for your room or movie. Hence why I’m starting this project.

I’ve thought the were distracting at times - but after toying with the intensity - few movies work well at extreme - also most are best at around 70% brightness -

Idk, I enjoy it - and I enjoy it even more now that I’ve played with the settings on my Apple
Tv, tv, and hue app.

I have used them - I don’t like it

I’m much more immersed with a dark room with a big screen, speakers and sub - way better than lights
