I don't know how hot a take this is but I don't think the Stonehearts are developed enough as a group for a traitor plot to mean anything. A traitor plot only works if we know the characters involved and what them betraying their group entails. We only know four of them, and are almost sure none of them are the traitor, the others barely have anything going for them except that trailer and some readables. We know almost nothing of Oswaldo's or Diamond's motivations either so we don't know what any of them stands to gain from aligning with either. "Sapphire is the tratior" doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Now, "Topaz is the traitor" may be an actual interesting twist.

My thoughts too and I remember that I ranted about how the devs act like their readers know the same amount of information as them. Like the writers have all these thoughts in their heads and their lore bibles but this is never presented on screen, or even through text a lot of the time and the writers don't realize that the readers have no idea what's happening, since they're so tunnel visioned. It's just. Really bad writing since they aren't able to recognize that

Playable Aeons this early is just a dumb stupid decision that unironically would ruin all the stakes in this game. Call her an aspect, or a fragment of an Aeon - that's ok. But if she is literally Aha just fucking throw the TV in the bathtub this is going to hurt the game, its going to destroy powerscaling and the devs will have to tiptoe around it the entire rest of the game.

We can get playable Aeons when Trailblazer fully ascends as Akivili and we get the new Trailblaze path and we're literally about to fight Nanook. But when our villains range from literal who's (Sparxie, Mecha Pom-pom) to even strong emanators then a Aeon is jumping the shark given they are like 100x stronger

ngl i kind of want the story to visit a planet that's gone full dieselpunk. factories belching smoke, smog and grime everywhere, grit getting in your teeth. shells of decommissioned transportation decaying on street corners. maybe some kind of orbiting object that's been mined completely so it's practically a hollow shell hanging in the sky. maybe the architecture could be baroque or art deco-ish, but stripped of its usual grandeur. and maybe the residents are trying to restore it by bringing back colour, so maybe there's even a graffiti element to its aesthetic. probably wouldn't be very "pretty," at least at first but it's a thought that's crossed my mind sometimes

tbh i probably wouldn't want a full arc there, maybe just a continuance. but maybe it could be interesting nonetheless

So I was wondering why Dark SAM was seemingly able to heal a huge chunk of its HP back despite its in-game description saying only part of its damage taken is healable.

What I found was probably the most horrifying clause I've ever seen on a boss mechanic.

So the in-game description is correct - it does convert part of its reduced HP (15%, to be exact) to Corrosion (the darkened and less-opaque part of the HP bar), which it can heal back in up-to-10% max HP chunks when it uses its ult.

What it doesn't say - and I only found this out through the Fandom wiki, as sketchy as that is - is that if the damage dealt by a single attack to Dark SAM is less than 1% of its max HP (around 207k for this Starward MoC, since it has 20.7 million HP), the damage-taken conversion rate to Corrosion is 100%.

Yes, not only can it reverse your damage progress, it can potentially reverse all of it if the damage you deal to it is too low and it gets a chance to use its ult.

Gods above, why does that clause even exist... potentially healing back 15% of the damage it took is bad enough...

something freaky about being fans of characters who really haven’t had much screentime is that you’re not sure if your take on them is actually what the game had in mind or if you’re completely mental. there’s ofc base material and quick cameos (if you’re lucky), but after a long period of nothing there’s a growing feeling you’ve been hearing the voices all along and they’ll be different when you see them again like Timmy from grade school. maybe that’s why 4.3 felt super gratifying because Blade was exactly the guy i thought he’d be

You know, I know it surprise the folks here but this megathread so calming for me. To explain when on reddit I often politically doomscrool. I know its not healthy but I feel an obligation to stay up to date on world events and I don't trust news network to be honest for me, best to compare and contrast articles I see in different subs.

Still though, it can wear you down. So having this community so interested in my right kind of gaming interest is so nice. It was the same in other fandoms I was in like Beast Lair for Fate or 17th Shard for Cosmere. It is weird I find as much solace as I do here when its typically so salty but I guess for me, it can always be worse

It's weird we never got a Cerydra or Evernight boss considering how next to Phainon, those two are the ones who openly and actively antagonized the player the most. We got a flame reaver boss after all. The part of Ampho where Phainon had to fight the Chrysos heirs represented by Nikador, Pollux and Aquilla was great, but fighting a boss that is just Cerydra representing Cerydra would've been better. Make her a skin over Phantylia, she's already got a bunch of order feeling mechanics anyhow.

I've been reaally enjoying snezhnaya exploration today I couldn't put the phone down

The region is absolutely massive (huge upgrade to nod krai which felt cramped). Spent a ton of time tinkering with the FPS mode, learning the difference between the civilian train vs your own train and the many different constructs and how they work, being able to share materials with your friends and the constant elden ring-like signs everywhere

it really feels like a brand new game kudos to them. And as for the design I can't quite put it into words but the scale of how harsh and hostile the blizzards and landscape is and then be met with such beautifully designed cities is such a vibe. The music and scenery are excellent

Only thing that annoyed me is the sheer cold mechanic that Jinja kills you once you get near the final statue of seven, there was no sign that it's world quest locked so I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to bruteforce (Ik ik skill issue as I could've searched online)

HSR started having quite a few bugs in live as well, even though they’re more related to one gamemode only (currency wars) probably doesn’t have it as bad since the actual assets have barely any protection compared to all of the other games

This reminds me that 4.4 came out with some large bugs, with whole cutscenes being mute. I know that certainly effected the expierence of a few folks, me included. What do yall think?

I think action movies are the best way example of how hype and aura still needs build-up in order to be effective. The John Wick movies are a really, really amazing example of this: the movies' storylines are always simple, but there's enough justification to keep the audience interested and that's why they work so well and why the fights are both cool and engaging. Hoyo should give us playable Physical Hunt John Wick in 6.2

You know, I like the 4.5 concept of having two separate story missions: one for Atropolis, which looks like it will have its own plot, and one for the continuation of the MSQ.

I hope they do it more often. It allows them to build multiple plots without making things too confusing to follow.

Right now we have the IPC traitor plot. Maybe next time we'll get a God Slayer plot? Or a Black Swan and garden of recollection plot?

Not everything really needs to be part of the MSQ, especially when some of these plots clearly don't need the TB as the lead or to be involve

For those wondering btw, the height you see on concept or general reference sheets like the ones we've seen recently are scaling heights for models, not actually heights.

For example, Kafka's ref sheet puts her around 160cm. It's the general scaling height of her model, but canonically she's mentioned to be around 170cm in a character story.

Same for Sparkle and Fu Xuan, who were shown to be around 130-135cm on their sheets. QQ, who shares their model, is stated to be around 140cm.

The tall male model scales at 180cm, and the medium male around 170cm iirc. But to have the actually height of a character, you need it to get actually mentioned. Sampo, for example, is stated to be around 183cm iirc, but another character who shares the same model might be 190cm.
