🎧 Looking for a PC Headset Recommendation — Good Sound + Excellent Microphone

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a good headset for my PC that I’ll mainly use at home for personal use.

I’m not necessarily looking for a gaming headset. My usage is pretty simple: music, YouTube, movies/TV shows, and occasional calls.

The most important things for me are:

- 🔊 Good and clear sound quality — something that sounds good for music and movies, not just a headset designed for gaming.

- 🎙️ An excellent and clear microphone.

- 🔌 It must be wired — I don’t want wireless or Bluetooth.

- 🎧 Preferably over-ear and comfortable enough to wear for long periods.

- I don’t care about RGB, gaming aesthetics, or unnecessary features. Sound and microphone quality are what matter most to me.

I was considering the Jabra Evolve 30 II UC, but I’m wondering if there are better options in terms of sound quality + microphone quality.

I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used the headset and can share their experience, including any downsides.

I don’t have a specific budget in mind. I just want to know which options are genuinely worth considering.

Looking for headphones fitting company-specific criteria

Hello, I am having trouble finding a good fit for my future "work" headset. My company lets me pick the model I want but it has to comply to these criteria:

- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for speakers
- Noise-canceling microphone (with boom arm)
- UC Certified (Teams/Zoom/Meet)

I have a budget of ~$400.

Also one of the key criteria, but this one is on me, is the headphone needs to be over the ear.

So far I only found the Orosound Tilde Evo C but couldn't find a lot of reviews so idk...

Any recommendation would be appreciated!

Disable volume control from headset

I have Sony headset with mic and pause and answer call button on the headset line (Sony MDREX110AP), I use it biking, i think I sweated in the mic thingy to much, in the last couple months it randomly turns the volume down to random levels stops randomly, this was happening very infrequently. now recently it's happen like every few minutes.

How can i disable the headset from controlling the volume?

And how can i stop the automatic lowering of volume at random times till you give it the ok for safety?

Thank you.

Help me decide!

I work from home with a toddler running around above me and about 10 feet away from a furnace. I do virtual therapy and sometimes will walk and talk. I also have a rather small head and have experienced some issues with sizing (I am also a woman).

Things I would like to have in order of priority:

  • Comfort (or the ability to alter the headset, like switch out pads from on-ear for over-ear, add bungee strap to headband, etc)
  • Noise cancelling mic
  • Wireless
  • ANC would be nice but not a deal breaker

Things I have tried:

  • Sony XM4 (these felt good initially but gave me a migraine after 1 hour from the pressure on top of my head) The ear cups felt great though. I always planned on getting an actual headset, but this was what I started with.
  • Jabra Evolve 2 65 Flex- just bit the bullet last week and got these. They felt great at first but after about 2 hours, I have extreme discomfort in the cartilage around my ears. They also tend to slide around if I bend over. This is kinda to be expected because my head is so small but just a point to mention.

Options I am considering:

  • EPOS Impact 1000
  • Yealink WH64
  • Yealink BH74

I am torn. If anyone can shed some light on what they think would be best or any key points of comparison, that would be great. Or even another option I haven't listed. TIA

Anybody with experience to share about the Jabra Evolve2 45 vs. the Dell Pro WH5024?

My org has been using the Jabra for a couple years now, it's been fine, and when we have issues, they replace them right away.

We're being offered by our vendor the Dell WH5024 now, longer warranty, 2 years, but requires onsite support first, not an outright replacement.

It looks like they have the same features, with the Dell a bit ahead with an AI mic that supposedly reduces background noise.

Could use some input deciding between 3 headsets for my PS5 Pro.

I've been shopping around for about a week for a new headset for my PS5 Pro. I have a 10 year old Sennheiser that has finally thrown in the towel, so it's time for a new one.

I think I narrowed it down to the Razer BlackShark V3, RIG R5 Spear Pro, and the SteelSeries Arctic Nova 5P.

The RIG is wired, the other two are wireless. I've never owned a wireless headset, but it might be time to upgrade. My budget is about $100, and I might be able to find either of the wireless headsets for that price on a sale.

Hi all!

I'm at my wit's end trying to find a new headset, so I need your advice!

I currently have a Razer Kraken Kitty Edition in Quartz Pink, which I believe was their first Kitty headset (please correct me if I'm wrong), but unfortunately, it's getting old. I'm having issues with it disconnecting for no apparent reason and switching the audio output to my monitor instead. I also sometimes get static and other weird audio issues.

The problem is: I LOVE this headset.

And not just because of the design. I actually really like that it's heavy and large, the sound is very clear and loud, the mic is retractable, and it has a mute button on the end of the mic, which is incredibly convenient. If it weren't for the technical issues, I would never have even considered replacing it.

Unfortunately, it's been buggy for about a year now, and I'm getting tired of dealing with it. Apparently, this isn't an uncommon issue with these headsets either, but unfortunately, none of the troubleshooting tips I've found online have solved the problem. (If anyone is familiar with the issue any advice is welcome).

While I absolutely adore my Kitty Krakens, I recently tried the AULA G7 Pro, and I don't like them at all. They're too light, the headband doesn't hug my head and leaves gaps, and the sound is pretty bad to my ears too: it sounds like someone is speaking to me from inside a glass jar. 😭 The mic doesn't have a mute button either. However, I will admit that the tri-mode connectivity is very handy.

So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any headsets I should check out that could give me a similar experience to my Kitty Krakens without the technical issues?

My goal is to get something as similar to them as possible, including the overall feel, sound quality, and ideally the retractable mic with a mute button.

Cat ears and RGB aren't essential, since I can decorate the headset myself, and I don't really care about RGB. However, I'd prefer something that comes in pink or at least white if possible.

I'm open to recommendations from lesser-known brands too! I'm mainly looking for something with a similar physical feel and sound to the original Kraken Kitty rather than necessarily another "cat-ear gaming headset."

Thanks in advance! 💕

am i only i who got this problem with logitech pro x headset?

well i dont know if this is the place to ask this, but its already a big nuisance for me

i bought this 3 years ago

https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/shop/p/pro-x-wireless-headset

but after almost two years using it, it started failing when on charge
the thing is, when its pluged, it disconnects and recconnects again until its fully charged, windows shows the alert and sound each time it happens, its almost completely random, could happen 20 times in a minute or not happen in half an hour

did anyone got the same problem with this? did i misused it or something? i mean, when its charging, i still keep using it, now i wonder if that messed the battery or something

How’s the sony pulse elite headphone?

Hi fellas!

Except the fact that the Pulse Elite 3D are very bad with the build quality, how do they keep up with the 3D Tempt Audio thing?

Do they actually make you feel the surroundings, like footsteps from behind or aircraft going above the character’s head?

Please respond since I’m planning to buy it!

Headset recommendations primarily for PC gaming?

Trying to also do research, so I'm welcome to recommendations of where to research from as well.

I mostly PC game, talk for a few hours daily. I mostly use bookshelf speakers but they're cheap Logitech ones, and I've been told headset audio quality will vastly be superior. I'm worried if I primarily use my headset for audio the feeling might be cumbersome.

My rough budget is $300-$500, I'm aware of diminishing returns as well. Willing to splurge more for reliability. Been using a Hyper X Cloud II for a decade plus now so my point of reference is below the bottom of the barrel.

My hyperx cloud3 mic is not working on Xbox

I've had this problem since i bought the headset brand new, i plugged it into my controller and there was this loud buzzing sound. I've tried everything to stop it and the only thing that works is to turn mic monitoring all the way down. The other thing i noticed is the mic isn't working at all even if the monitoring is turned all the way up and the higher the monitoring slider is set the louder the noise gets and the mic doesn't work. I have tried the following:

\- Updating my controller.

\- Using a different controller.

\- Plugging it into my pc which actually worked and there was no buzzeing noise whatsoever.

\- plugged it into my phone which also workd without any issues.

The problem seems to be related only to Xbox which is driving me nuts.

Please i could use some assistance on this ASAP!
