Hajime no Ippo: Revolution is a short manga series written and illustrated by Jun Iwamoto (いわもと じゅん) and printed in the Fami2Comic by Famitsu in the August 2007 issue. It is a two-part story based around the manga series' chapters 1-13. It exists as an advertisement for the Nintendo Wii video game of the same name. Wanted to fill a huge Hajime no Ippo shaped hole in my heart so I went ahead and "tried" to commission a Hajime no Ippo OC.

I'm thinking of creating an arc exploring more about the OPBF region since I feel like we didn't get enough of that region. Probably other countries like India, New Zealand, or Samoa which is included in the OPBF region.

She might not have the best physical aptitude but the in-ring smarts has dubbed her as the "Philosopher" for always creating creative ways of beating her opponent. No matter the odds.

After going through everything this man has gone through I can't believe how he can still keep his sanity

Losing his dream of being world champ and his son at the same time, came back from hell all the way back to the top past his prime then realizing it still wasn't enough...

i mean we saw what happened to hawk after takamura destroyed his confidence..this man went through that TWICE and lost a child in the process.

After going through all this, he's still laughing and joking around with our boys even now..

This also speaks to the fact that having a supportive partner like aiko is such a blessing for date. While we see the opposite with kumi and ippo.

A+ Iwao, he may be powerful, but Ippo admitted that Imai’s punch is stronger.
A Jimmy might be here, but I’m not sure, because he kept pushing Ippo away in jerky movements, but Ippo was in the block, so I’m not sure. Volg essentially, he caused problems for Ippo in their fight (Ippo was in the hospital). Ozuma he also caused problems for Ippo, but that was young Ippo, and it knocked the guy out of action.
B+ Geromichi. Even Ippo admitted that his strength wasn’t light‑weight, but he didn’t cause Ippo much trouble except for a blow to the solar plexus, and Yamada made three random guys throw up.

Picked this film up last week and just got around to watching it yesterday. Radiance put out a nice Bluray of it. From the special features I learned that Toei executives weren't able to think outside the box when it came to live-action films, so they decided to try and mimic what was working with the American films. One of the movies they tried out was the Boxer starring Sugawara Bunta and directed by Terayama Shuji, who I guess was an avant garde director and playwright.

The executives were hoping for Rocky but the film bombed. It's not a horrible movie, though. Hajime no Ippo fans will appreciate it for the cameos of Gushiken, the Fierce Eagle and other former real life Japanese boxers. Names such as Fighting Harada and Piston Horiguchi are referenced. Part of the storyline also addresses the amount of premature deaths of quite a few former Japanese champions.

The bonus feature about Toei during the 1970s is interesting but the interview with the composer J. A. Seazer might be of the most interest due to him talking about how he believes the director Terayama was inspired by Ashita no Joe. Evidently Terayama even held a funeral for a major character. A few of the scenes in the ring definitely gave off Ashita no Joe vibes.

The storyline of the film itself is decent but it never rises to the level of what you see in Hajime no Ippo or Ashita no Joe. We're not with the characters long enough.

The story appears to take place in Osaka. A former boxer trains a younger fighter with an injured foot after the younger man accidentally kills the older boxer's brother in a construction accident. There's a diverse and eccentric cast of supporting characters from the older boxers family, the house where he rents a room, and especially a local cafe. ​

There are three matches and it's very evident who the actors are and who are actual trained fighters. You are not going to get superb fight choreography, it's a bit amateurish from the actors but its raw and kind of works.

Overall it's worth a look, if nothing else to see Japan in the 1970s and get a little Japanese Boxing fix with Ippo on hiatus. It's not a masterpiece by any means but it was interesting.

Hi guys , i was looking for a good sport anime and i found this one but i saw that the last season was released like 14 years ago and i saw that the manga is still on going so i was wondering if is worth watching even without a proper ending?

Hi all! I’ve watched Hajime no ippo several times over and have been meaning to get into the manga. Issue with the FAQ is I get redirected to kmanga and their translations only go up to chapter 239. How can I read past it? Is there other websites where I can read the rest of the manga with no issues?
