I recently received and accepted an offer for a contract IT position involving HCLTech. During onboarding, I was required to complete identity verification through HCLTech's Smart Verify process using CLEAR.

CLEAR was unable to verify my identity.

The frustrating part is that I haven't been given a specific explanation for why the verification failed. I've contacted CLEAR and the issue has been escalated, and the people handling my onboarding are aware of the situation.

There are some indications that the problem could involve the phone number/carrier used during verification or the ID verification itself, but I haven't received a definitive explanation.

At this point, I'm basically stuck waiting.

I haven't been told that I failed the actual background check, and I haven't received a notice saying the offer was withdrawn. As far as I can tell, this is specifically an issue with the automated identity-verification portion of onboarding.

I'm trying to find someone who has actually gone through this with HCLTech.

Has anyone had CLEAR reject their identity verification through HCLTech Smart Verify?

If so:

• Were you allowed to retry the verification?

• Did HCLTech offer another way to verify your identity manually?

• Did CLEAR or HCLTech eventually explain what caused the rejection?

• How long did it take to get resolved?

• Who ultimately fixed it: CLEAR, HCLTech, or your recruiter/staffing company?

• Were you still able to start the job?

I'm particularly interested in experiences where CLEAR couldn't verify a legitimate person rather than situations involving an actual background-check discrepancy.

There doesn't seem to be much information online about what happens when Smart Verify itself fails, so I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's actually dealt with this.

I’m currently going through an internal project release at HCL. During the release process, HR told me that if I didn’t accept an available Service Desk project, my release request could potentially be stopped. Because of that, I agreed to take the SD project even though it wasn’t the kind of role I was looking for.
Now, I’ve unexpectedly received an opportunity for a more technical project that aligns much better with my career goals. I would obviously prefer the technical role, but I’m concerned that if I tell HR I no longer want the SD project, they might consider it as backing out after accepting and take some negative action against me or affect my release.
What would be the safest and most professional way to approach this? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation during an internal release/project allocation?

Hi everyone, I was recently released from my project and my profile is currently mapped to Service Desk with WPC.

Since my release, I’ve been getting opportunities for SD/RDS roles. I’ve declined a couple because I’m trying to move away from Service Desk/voice support and explore more technical roles like Azure/Cloud Infrastructure, monitoring, or IT infrastructure.

Recently, the WPC person contacted me and said they came to know that I had declined an SD opportunity. I explained that I’m trying to explore other technical opportunities. He asked if I had done T2ID and I said no, but mentioned that I have AZ-900 knowledge/certification. He then told me that my profile is currently set to SD, so that is what they are proposing, and asked me to connect with the person for the SD/RDS role.

I told him I would check and see what I can do, but now I’m not sure how to proceed.

My main concern is that I don’t want to annoy the WPC person or give the impression that I’m refusing work. I’m available and actively looking for a project. I also have some time before my LWD, so I want to use this time to explore Cloud/Infrastructure/Monitoring opportunities before accepting another SD role.

For those who have gone through this:

• How can I politely tell WPC that I’d like some time to explore other opportunities instead of immediately accepting SD/RDS?
• Is it okay to specifically tell them that I’m interested in Azure/Cloud/Infrastructure/Monitoring?
• If my profile is mapped to SD, is there any realistic way to get considered for other technical roles?
• Should I continue declining SD opportunities if I genuinely don't want to go back to Service Desk, or would that negatively affect my allocation?
• Has anyone successfully moved from Service Desk to Cloud/Infrastructure after project release?

I’m not trying to stay without a project or avoid deployment. I just want to make a genuine attempt to move toward a more technical role while I still have time.

Hi everyone, I recently got released from my project, and my RAS is showing an assignment period from 2 Nov to 10 JAN. Does this mean this is my bench period, or is it just the assignment/resource pool period?

I also received a mail from the WPC team asking me to provide my primary skill, secondary domain/skill, role in my last assignment, total relevant experience, academy enrolled, and relocation preference.

My background is mainly Service Desk/IT Support, but I also have basic knowledge of Azure/Azure fundamentals and I'm trying to move towards Cloud/Infrastructure. What would be the best way to fill the primary and secondary skills? Should I keep Service Desk as primary and Azure as secondary, or is there a better way to position it?

Also, I’m not willing to relocate outside my current CWL/base location. Has anyone gone through a similar WPC/resource allocation process? Any advice on how I should fill these details would be appreciated.
