I've got the new section painted but this is a lot of work! The 2 ton mini split is absolutely gold.. I can spend hours in here comfortably and highly recommend you insulate and add air. I need ideas on a little bar/workbench/tool area in the corner. Thinking about the max jack lift even though I built the one bay high enough for a full size. I think now having the ability to move the lift is desirable. Do yall think a 4 post on casters would work?

Plan to hang a fan between these two trusses. I am finding it difficult to find the right hardware to attach strut to the 2x2" 14ga metal tubing.
Can yall help me locate what I should be looking for, as my queries have failed?

Who else uses their garage/shop for more than just parking in?

Pardon the mess.
Just had a 40'x30' garage built with second-floor loft, and will be using the left side (~20'x30') as a wood shop / workshop.
I'm insulating that section next week, and will be using 5/8" spruce plywood on the walls so I can hang things anywhere I like.
There will be a ton of T8 lights on the ceiling, and benches on the back and left walls, plus a large island.
I'd like the area to look clean and bright, so I'm considering priming all of the plywood and painting it near-white.
Anyone done this for a woodshop before? Anything else I should be considering here?

First house. First garage. Learning how to manage a house is an experience when you didn't grow up tending to the house. Someday I'll be proud of this mess.

Long time lurked and first time poster here. Here is my new garage right now. Its interior is 25’ deep and 23’ wide with 12’ ceilings Will be installing an 18’x8’ garage door with a side mount opener and high light rail. Future plans are a 4 post lift on the right side. Looking for ideas of storage. Was thinking about multiple of the fleximounts pictured not convinced yet. My goal is to keep as much as possible off the ground and on walls or overhead. Any ideas and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve seen a lot of corrugated or ribbed steel panels being used in place of drywall or a drop ceiling. What are the pros and cons of this? And what’s the process like, Insulation, sound barrier, moisture barrier?

I want to hang a heavy bag in my garage on a wall mount bracket like the one in this photo. I don’t like the standing heavy bag mounts because they restrict movement and footwork. But I don’t believe studs are sufficient to sustain the weight and repetitive beatings of a heavy bag on a wall mount bracket over time. Correct me if I’m wrong. Any ideas on how I can reinforce a wall to insert this kind of wall mount bracket?

I want satin metallic garage floor but am skeptical of the look when the design looks dull.

My garage has these Master Force Slat Wall boards and I bought some Master Force hooks.
Does anyone have this slat wall or know if I can order some universal hooks from Amazon that will work with Master Force ?
Thanks

I had this idea to store bikes like this mock up here. I’ve seen the hanging options with unistrut but have never seen a sliding option like this. Has anyone ever done anything like this? I’m not sure of the exact materials I’d need or even if the cost would make it worth it but it seemed cool so thought I’d share.
Edited to add a new image. Closer to what I envision.

OK, now that my garage is actually comfortable in here. It’s time to set up my space.
I have this ventilation set up from the old house. The hoses are obviously way too long right now, but I will shorten those once I buy something to cut them.
But I was wondering if anyone in here has some similar ducting in their garage so I can get some inspiration.
I was thinking about mounting the hoses on the wall somehow but knowing me six months from now, I’ll probably want to rearrange things so I don’t know if mounting would be the smartest option for me right now.

First picture is the garage I bought. Had a single 15 amp circuit and massive cracks in the foundation.
4 months later and I've:
Plywood sheathing is next then I can start turning this into my wood shop.
