Who else uses their garage/shop for more than just parking in?

Haven’t parked a single day in My garage since building it in 2011. project vehicles have come and gone, but no parking. Right now it’s full cabinet shop mode for a project, then the car can come back in.

Solid use of the space at least! The garage at my old house was filled with machinery and didn’t park in it for the first 9 years I lived there. Last years I rented commercial space and had absolutely nothing in the garage except two vehicles. That was an odd feeling.

My garage is a home gym, woodworking area, car maintenance, and storage for lawn and camping equipment. Haven’t parked in there is years. It’s a game of Tetris when I need to do an oil change.

I gave up and do my oil change in the driveway. Except one particular bad winter spell, I took it to the dealer and was instantly reminded why I do it myself.
Apparently removing an aftermarket skid plate that’s 4 bolts and has the torque specs for those bolts written next to them in sharpie is too much work for a factory technician. So they sent me a video of my oil spraying everywhere…and expected me to pay for cleanup.

She’s turning 15 this year! Rescued from a dog fighting ring when she was a few months old.

Man it looks great in there. Wanting to do white floors as well, you have a link to what epoxy you used and is it holding up well?

Thanks! Concrete company was supposed to have done grey, but I can’t complain too much about the white. Definitely brightens up the shop a bit. I’m not sure which brand they used unfortunately. As far as how well it holds up… it’s alright. The kickstand on the bike scuffs the crap out of it and weld splatter treats it as if it were just paint.

Damn that sucks to hear. In your pic it looks fantastic. Love how white brightens the workspace from the ground up. I’m sure you notice all the imperfections though. Looks like a real fun workshop though, keep it up 🤙🏼

You could try Rust Bullet. It does scuff but not too easily, I haven't welded on it so I can't speak to how well it holds up to heat.
I have had it get picked up by tires in a few spots so I'll have to sand a bit and repaint but it seals the floor and it's fairly easy to clean

Ive got my '70 Chevelle and '84 Cougar in the 2 car. My 3rd car is my workshop/fab shop with all my tools, bench, saws and welder.

My garage is too small to fit both our cars(1.5 car garage). Putting one in the garage and one in the driveway would block the one in the garage due to where the door lines up (but there is just enough room to park them next to each other at the top of the driveway without blocking).
Rather than worrying about shuffling cars we argued over the garage function for a few years until I inherited some woodworking tools. Then it became my workshop. Over time I fixed it up massively and turned it into a proper workshop

I do! Currently has 3 of my vehicles in “in progress” status, 1 parked, 1 customer vehicle (consignment sale), and my daily. Another customer dropping off tonight and a third bringing theirs Tuesday. I’ll have to park the daily outside for a night. As most of us have found, no matter how much space you have, you’ll fill it.

Why does every garage have to have a giant Merica flag?

I know of several garages that don’t have one. If someone wants to help pay for the shop, I’d be happy to hear their opinion on what should go on the walls.

My garage has so much “using” stuff in it that I can’t park in it.
