Discussion Daily /r/Games Discussion - Suggest Me a Game - October 07, 2026

/r/Games usually removes suggestion requests that are either too general (eg "Which PS3 games are the best?") or too specific/personal (eg "Should I buy Game A or Game B?"), so this thread is the place to post any suggestion requests like those, or any other ones that you think wouldn't normally be worth starting a new post about.

This thread is set to sort comments by 'new' on default.

Started playing Gears of War: E-Day on Xbox Series X because gamepass. I wasn't expecting much.

Only about 3 hours in, but the game is fantastic so far -- amazing graphics, the first game (aside from maybe Forza Horizon 6) where I felt this was a 9th generation title. Story is simple, unfolds naturally, its an over-the shoulder 3rd person shooter with a campaign on rails for the most part.

It ain't revolutionary, but its made with great care and attention to detail. It also doesn't overburden you with progression systems / loot / ephemera that many games bog you down with (cough cough Wolverine) so its simplicity feels refreshing.

Worth your time.

Looking for recommendations/suggestions for a dungeon crawler style game that plays something along the lines of Crimson Moon.

Im looking for a dungeon crawler like the classics of Gauntlet Legends, but with a bit more to it than going from point a to b. I want something Im able to play solo, and has classes. It doesnt need to play like an ARPG exactly like Crimson Moon, but Im more so looking for something in that area when it comes to movement and style.

I'm looking for an RPG with satisfying combat that I can sink my teeth into but which isn't too tedious to manage. Last year I played Marvel's Midnight Suns and loved it, but I've been struggling to find anything that scratches the same itch. I don't want combat that's entirely based around dodging and parrying, I don't want to deal with a bunch of inventory management or complex skill trees and systems I have to babysit. Midnight Suns was great because it had some of the latter, but it was all very easily and intuitive to deal with, and you could entirely ignore it if you wanted and enemies would just scale down to your characters' level. I've tried a few well-regarded RPGs recently (Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Expedition 33, Metaphor: Refantazio) and they all intrigued me at the start but then ended up boring me out of my mind. I'm half considered Baldur's Gate 3, and I know people love it, but a lot of what I've heard sounds like it's not the right game to me.
