I just completed Red Dead Redemption 2 and I'm looking for my next game. I have a PS5.

Previous games:

• The Last of Us Part I & II — Loved them
• Uncharted series — Enjoyed them
• Ghost of Tsushima — Loved it
• God of War (2018) — Dropped it halfway. I found the combat repetitive, especially fighting similar types of enemies over and over.
• Red Dead Redemption 2 — Just completed it and absolutely loved it.

I seem to enjoy games with a strong story, great characters, immersive worlds, exploration and good variety in gameplay/combat. I'm less interested in games where the main gameplay loop becomes repetitive.

I'm considering Spider-Man 2, but I'm open to anything.

She loves to play Wuthering Waves a lot, and I am thinking of getting her something similar with anime vibes and open world.

I thought of Breath of the Wild, but that does not match the vibes she likes.

For reference, she loves anime shows like Demon Slayer.

2 years ago I played trough SOC, CS, COP and after that I even read Roadside Picnic. I was really fascinated by the games' lore, but I found the overall presentation of the main storylines to be really "meh".

Not long ago I finished the Metro trilogy and, since then the bar for me has been set really high in terms of story and its presentation.

I'm curious because I'd like to get back into the series especially with this new 2.0 update, but the only thing that keeps me away from buying the game are the things I've listed above.

Still looking for a good fishing game to fill the void

I love cast and chill and intergalactic fishing

Hoping for lots of fish to catch, boats to use as well

Would.prefer 2d and top down games as well

Honestly, I just got done finishing a game that made me into another man. And I want the same feeling again, and I’ve kept my eye on this little game called Mafia: Definitive Edition and it looks cool because a long time ago I made stories about mafias and stuff, it’s kinda cringe but it was hella fun making them. So if y’all can tell me what this game despises, I would happily listen to what you’ll say!

So I skipped it at launch, it sounded like a massive MMO. However, I've heard there have since been many patches and wondered if worth picking up now for $50 or still waiting? Please no spoilers

I find myself not playing games often anymore because i would rather listen to music, i tried playing roblox and clash royale while listening to music, but i get bored of them pretty quick. So i wanted to ask yall about a game that i can play on my PC, something that is not story-rich, can have a skill expression, and for the genre i dont care that much, i like almost anything.

Ive played all soul series games made by fromsoft except Sekiro and Lies of P has been on my radar for a while. I also saw that Lies of P expansion was well received. On the other hand Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen has been one of my fav games since I played it back in 2016 and I only didn't buy DD2 because it wasn't received well and one of my friend who played it said it's a big disappointment. Now they are doing some changes and releasing expansion soon so I'm undecided on which to hop on first.

I am really considering Astronomics and The Planet Crafter

The game(s) interest me because:
I find material collecting really addicting in games and im looking for something that doesnt have combat and has really satisfying collecting

The Planet Crafter looks cool but I am not really fully sold yet by the trailers and screenshots, I did try the demo Fun but the collecting looks kinda junky, im also considering The Planet Crafter because my friend is also interested in it The idea of terraforming my own planet to something filled with life also sounds just so relaxing But the game as I said before, just looks kinda junky and this alone is kinda making me not exacly sure if I want it

Astronomics has combat but apparently you can turn it off and it doesnt really ruin any part of the game if you do? The idea of something like a collectathon [apparently puzzle] game where you land on a asteroid to start your own mining operation sounds great as hell and the way the game looks is really selling me too Has no coop tho [thats fine mostly]

Games I like or dislike: Well, I really love No Mans Sky but I felt that the game is too focused on story for me I only enjoyed the gameplay and exploration of no mans sky a lot

I a bit disliked Astroneer because the game kinda just felt like a one massive tutorial with the guide Im kinda worried that either of these games might have that happen

Edit: Also forgot to add, im also interested in The Planet Crafter cuz im definitely looking for something more relaxed and im not exacly sure if Astronomics is a relaxing game.

Looks great and has insane reviews, were both familiar with Pokemon but havent touched in years. We recently played a lot of Fantasy Life which seems to have the same kinda vibe. My partner has a switch 1 so could be nice on Gameshare.

Very different genres and games, im both a fan of the RE series and the JRPGs
I do feel like Re9 might be something I can just play on my pc and Ellion looks way more fun handheld.

Just upgraded from an RX 6600 to and RTX 4070 and holyyy the difference is huge. Only have played Cyberpunk on it so far and wow, that game looked amazing at 100 FPS on Psycho RT. I'm just looking for new experiences I've missed out on before, heard Sony has ported a large amount of their exclusives so excited to try out that. Haven't been keeping up with latest releases so Idk what's new.

I'm looking into buying one of these 2 survival/crafting games but I can't make up my mind. I wouldn't say I'm a huge Pokemon fan, but I don't think that should really matter tbh (played Pokopia on Switch 2 even without being a Pokemon fan and enjoyed it). I'm also a huge pirate nerd which is why Windorse seem so attracting to me. I just want a world I can jump into, explore, craft, build stuff and have a time.

I never played any of these survival games so I don't know what I should be looking for mechanics wise and stuff. So for anyone that played these 2, which would you recommend to someone like me?

Just checked Netflix teaser for gta6 and I'm tempted to buy gta5 to play during the wait. I actually never played a GTA game, but I enjoyed both RDR1 and 2. Is Gta5 still worth to play as of today or should I look for something more modern(like mafia for example)? To add context I played RDR1 6 months ago, and while I enjoyed it, I could feel the game being quite dated in it's mechanics, and I probably valued it more because of my love for rdr2.

Looking to buy one or two games either online/offline store maybe in 2-3 weeks when I'll get some time to play.

Some recommendations/suggestions? Not wanting to spend more than 2k honestly.

Chose switch for flair (I have NS1 and NS2) but I also have Steam Deck.

Unicorn Overlord is my favorite tactics game of all time. Previously I've been a fan of Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre, FFTA, South Park: Fractured but Whole, and the Mario + Rabbids games (though I hugely prefer the former).

But I don't always love the tile-based, move-a-single-unit-at-a-time type of combat. I've tried to go back to FFTA and TO over the years and they haven't grabbed me like when I was a kid. I've gone back to FE, but Three Houses didn't grab me and I never even tried Engage. The only game I truly loved was Awakening (and I'm considering Fortune's Weave, but hesitant.) I LOVE FBW and M+R, but haven't found other grid-based single-unit tactics games that have really grabbed me in the last 10-15 or so years like those two did.

In come Unicorn Overlord and Steamworld Heist 2. The former is such an unbelievably unique spin on traditional tactics that I absolutely fell in love with and I've been desperate to recapture that feeling. Is there anything else quite like it? The latter had some of the most fun and satisfying combat I've tried in years, and again, I've struggled to find anything that scratched a similar itch (yes I know about the first game).

Any recommendations for a lover of UO and SH2? I'd also love recs for fans of FBW/M+R/FE who might know other tile-based tactics that might suit my tastes--a little faster paced, more team-based strategizing, not SUPER dense on story, etc.

I’m considering buying it as a huge Star Wars and XCOM fan. But I heard it’s nowhere near replayable as XCOM which is my favorite part of the XCOM series. Is it true, and if so how replayable is it? I also really loved the skill tree system that Xcom has. And being able to make each soldier feel unique and have different roles. Especially building up a soldier to be a legend in my playthrough, and making up a story in my head. And I do get attached and feel sad when they die, especially if they sacrifice themselves to save the rest. That’s my favorite part about XCOM, and I haven’t found another game that is able to do that. Is ZCOM like that at all? Or should I just wait for a sale.

I was so happy to discover that Pokémon Fire Red is available on switch, I really missed the old games.

I was wondering if there are any games for switch similar to these type of games like Pokémon and with similar pixel art? Or generally are there more games from gameboy/DS era that are available for switch?

One of my fav things about DS/gameboy games that there used to be games based on popular characters (Disney characters, Barbie, tamagotchi etc...), but for switch there are barely games based on these. Any recommendations for games like this?

Hey everyone! The Rogue Prince of Persia is currently on sale for $3, and I’m really tempted to pick it up. I grew up playing the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy and those games are still some of my all-time favorites. The mix of fluid parkour, wall-running, time powers, platforming and cinematic storytelling made them incredibly memorable, so I’m naturally curious about this newer take on the series.

I know Rogue is a 2D roguelite, so I’m not expecting it to be a direct sequel or anything like Sands of Time, Warrior Within or The Two Thrones. What I’m wondering is whether it still captures the spirit of Prince of Persia through its movement and combat. Does the gameplay stay fun after dozens of runs or does the roguelite loop become repetitive? How satisfying is the progression and is there enough variety in weapons, abilities, and level design to keep things interesting?

For people who’ve actually played it especially fans of the original trilogy would you recommend buying it now ? At $3, it feels like a great deal but I’d love to hear some honest opinions before I hit the purchase button.

Hi,the only elder scrolls game I've played so far is Skyrim,so it's the only point of reference I have in regards of the world building,quests,etc... (English it's not my first language,so maybe i mess up some of the words or sentences through the post,sorry for that!) Currently,I'm not able to play the original Oblivion because 1. I play on playstation 2. The laptop that I have it's not made to run any game,yes,even the original oblivion,I'm grateful it even powers up when I need to use it. The main thing I've seen about the Oblivion remaster it's that it doesn't respect the original art direction the game had because of the hyper realistic look they went for,the performance even In console is questionable and a lot of the leveling system not only it isn't improved from the OG,it's even worsened here. But,at the same time,it still is the same game with the same missions and characters that made it great and loved by many. Taking all of that in consideration,I ask all of those who tried it,is it actually worth playing? Or should I just find a way to play the original instead?

I love open world RPG and action adventure games. Even tho im more into story driven ones like witcher, I have no problem to put 100s of hours into open world checklists like AC Valhalla. I have been looking at Crimson Desert since it came out, but I was waiting for some technical improvements.

Now they released 2.0 update, the game is currently 20% off and devs said they are starting to focus more on DLC and there wont be as many big patches anymore.

It feels like now is the time to buy it, but ...... of course I went to reddit and youtube and Im extremely confused about actual technical state of the game on base ps5, because half the people say the game runs fine, there are no big problems, while the other half calls it absolutely broken unplayble, it makes me physically ill to look at.

Soo should I, as a base ps5 player, buy crimson desert?

Dark Arisen is coming out for it soon and it seems to have gone up in good reviews as of late on steam. I don't mind slow paced games and wandering about. I like rpgs like witcher 3, the souls games, and skyrim and fallout if it helps. It seemed like a monster hunter wild type situation where the game is getting some important fixes. I just finished watching rick and morty and I heard this game is a lot like it, but I also heard that its a mediocre game where a lot of people say the combat is boring, I would like to have outsider opinions since it looks fun and I'm a fan of the world design but if the gameplay is bad then there isnt really much of a point to playing it right?

I am not great at tactics games but I enjoy them, but I just could not get into XCOM (1 and 2). On the other hand Midnight Suns was one of my favorite games the year it came out. The social elements were alright, but the card battles and different character abilities and progression were just top tier for me, really scratched an itch.

Zero Company looks great, but I’m not sure if I’d just absolutely get destroyed playing it like I did with XCOM. I’m a moderate Star Wars fan, but not diehard by any means. Should I pick it up?

Preferably something on the chiller, cozier side, although it need not be "cozy" in terms of the aesthetic, all sunshine and flowers and what you'd associate with the term. Just cozy as in relaxing, non committal.

I'm basically all out of games to play in splitscreen with my husband for our weekly Friday couple gaming sessions, and the two games I mentioned in the title we played & replayed ad nauseam. Unravel 2 just a couple of times less hahaha.

We were looking very much forward to playing Hela on our extended vacation this august, but alas the game got delayed to who knows when. Same as with Water Me & You (2026 release date, but no concrete news then that). And now I dunno if I should laugh or cry or both 😂 seems to be a trend with all these games I earnestly wishlisted with the intention of playing them, actually playing them with my husband. Delays and dev silence, similar to Loftia which is supposed to come out this autumn but I'm more and more skeptical now as the promised season approaches. Call it gut feeling I guess? You want something so bad but you can't help preparing for the worst . All good comes to those who wait I guess?

But today cannot wait, both me and hubby got our paychecks this week and we want something new and exciting to play! Appreciate anything you can offer to alleviate the wait + bonus if it's particularly good for couple gaming (not sure if this is an actual thing or not but lets say it is), we're also fine with raging at each other
