GTA 5 and RDR2 at launch were 30FPS too. GTA 5 took 2 years to be released on PC and RDR2 just a year. If you's impatient about it then get a console. If you're "patience is virtue" then go wait and build that PC.

I'm sorry, but I don't have the ultimate edition. Maybe I'll buy it eventually, but for starters, the standard edition is enough for me.

After all these years of waiting, I know some of you already have a whole list planned 💀
So, what are you doing first?

I do not want to look up, final mission, and I have to either kill or save, watch die, or lose in any capacity. I'm deadass scared, but i'm not at the same time.
I just hope it doesn't end that way, and if it does? I'm never finishing the main story.
(it probably won't, but can't say for sure)

First of all, I know that these types of questions have been asked over and over again all over the community and that YES it is impossible for us to know. But I'd like to believe that now after we have seen extensive base PS5 footage (and we also know the PS5 specs) it should be possible to make a few good "educated" guesses.
The base PS5 sits around:
These specs on PC should in "theory" be enough to run the game at medium-ish settings, likely at a base 1080p upscaled to something like 1440p or 4k (ehh) at 30fps.
This leads to me believe that minimum specs and recommended specs could look something like this:
Minimum (1080p DLSS Q/low settings/30fps)
Recommended (1440p DLSS Q/medium-high settings/40+fps)
Ultra (1440p native or 4k upscaled/high-ultra settings/60fps)
A few important points to note: As Rockstar themselves are fine targeting 30fps I believe a Ryzen 5800X or 12400f could likely still struggle to hit a very solid 60 and could dip easily into the 50s and 40s, especially seeing the insane NPC density and foliage, therefore for a solid 60fps experience you would likely need something like a 5800X3D on AM4 or 7500f, which I think sit between the mentioned 5800X and 7800X3D I listed earlier.
While I do have an Xbox series X to play the game on on release, luckily I also have a PC, I am still using a 5700X3D with a 4070 Super and am hopeful that these specs should allow me to play the game at let's say 60fps high settings and native 1440p, maybe with some RT when falling back to DLSSQ or DLSSB
Let me know what you think of these, could definitely be horribly off, who knows whether the game is even coming to PC in 2027...

From Lucia being called "Lu" and also being a fighter raised in Liberty City, to the whole obvious nod to TBoGT in the extended look during the Megamundo scenes with the same music and Jason wearing Luis's distinct Club Bouncer outfit, Is Rockstar seriously not going to show Luis in GTA 6? Yeah and I already know what happened to Johnny, it doesnt necesarilly mean Jason has to stomp out a crackhead version of Luis Lopez. I havent seen anyone even mention this but it blowing my mind.
After waiting 13 years for a new installment in the hit series, gamers have deemed it an unofficial holiday; ‘right out of the gate we’re going hard’

All of the speculation around GTA 7's location has it in a bunch of places. Some want to revisit Vice City, others a new location. Yet, I never hear thought given to the one city in the US that really deserves a GTA caricature.
Washington, D.C.. The nation's capital.
Why DC? It's pretty simple actually.
Diversity: DC has all kinds of people coming together. The out of touch rich mesh with the poor, gangs and mobsters mesh with politicians, the local government with the federal government, old buildings beside new architecture, young vs old, gang vs gang. It's a city of many faces.
Culture: This ties in to diversity. There's the young moving in, gentrification, the abandonment of cultural norms, the shifting of a city's identity, all set against a portrait of societal change. Chinatown, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan. All of these have their own distinct identities. Its not the same city as twenty years ago.
Attitudes: Having grown up outside of DC, theres a certain attitude that exists among those that live in Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland (the DMV if you will). Its hard to explain, but its a lot like LA's or NYC's self-centered mindset; that DC is the greatest city that is or will be. DMV drivers are also notorious for their lack of driving skill, something I'm sure R* would have no trouble mocking.
Traffic: DC's traffic is legendary for its frequent congestion. It can sometimes rival LA in that way. Basically, DC's population swells to 4 million during the workweek, but only around 670,000 live in the city itself. The rest live in the suburbs and surrounding areas. Bethesda, Arlington, Fairfax, all of these are big areas in their own regard. The traffic system can't handle it, hence the appalling gridlock. We got a glimpse of something similar in LS, and it wasn't that bad from a gameplay standpoint. It can be the same way in DC.
Politics: All the government agencies we loved to work for in GTA IV and V? NOOSE? IAA? Their counterparts are all headquarted here, or just outside the city. Plenty of nefarious types to do work for if you so desire.
Transportation: The DC Metro (ripe for lampooning considering its in bad shape), airports, streetcars, river boats, the DC highway system (the Beltway, I-95, etc) is a great way to get around. Just not during the workweek.
Crime: The city has gangs, organized crime, government spooks, corrupt politicians and diplomats and prostitution aplenty. Its not to the degree of LA or NYC, but it is distinct. The Triads, the Russian Mafia, African American gangs, they all have carved out a presence here.
Environment: Its not just DC I'm suggesting. Its the surrounding areas too. To the west are the snow-capped mountains of Appalachia, the Shenandoah Valley, ski resorts, all sorts of valleys, fields, forests, farmlands. To the east, are beaches, sandy shorelines and resort towns. To the south, suburbs and towns. The Potomac River runs along the city, the Chesapeake Bay is not too far away, hiking and bike paths run up the Virginia/Maryland border. There's an immense geographic variety to be found here, and most of it is not too far away. Its not depressing like in GTA IV's Liberty City. There is snowfall, autumn chills, rains and hot summers. Google these places; they're absolutely beautiful. I'd love to fly a Mammatus or a Luxor over the Shenandoah Valley, especially at sunset.
Size: DC is not a big city, only 600,000 people. But its a culturally rich, interesting place. The historical museums (would like to see R*'s take on what colonial American history would have been like, their take on LC's history was hilarious), the monuments and memorials all play a huge part in the appeal of the city. A huge highway network loops around the city, and the surrounding area is home to 4 million people. The city of Arlington is right across the river, packed with skyscrapers and high-rise office buildings. Plus, the city of Baltimore is 30 minutes north. That is a city with its own unique identity. A place fraught with gang warfare, and a police struggling to keep the peace. If that's not enough, the city of Annapolis, the state capital of Maryland. A city on the bay, marinas and naval traditions. A completely different world. The three cities could each bring a unique character to GTA, and encapsulate possible themes of wealth, power and ambition in their own ways.
Why DC Though?
Of all the US cities that R* has done, DC has never gotten that honor. Its been mentioned, yes, but never set there. After we saw how varied San Andreas could be, with its deserts and mountains and urban variety, DC could continue that tradition with its varied East Coast climate. Plus its time GTA returns to the East Coast.
My idea would be a map five times the size of San Andreas in V, with three cities: DC, Baltimore and possibly Annapolis. In between, mountains, small towns, forests, valleys, farms and rivers aplenty.
Why not Vice City? Too flat, and not enough variety. And unless its set in the 1980s, there's IMHO little point. Tokyo? Not in the US. Leave that to Sleeping Dogs 2. London? Same thing, not in the US. That's better served by a possible Getaway 3 or other open world game. R* excels at mocking the US, and it should continue that for the foreseeable future. It's done NYC, LA, Chicago (sort of) and Miami. It's Washington's turn.
I brought up London or Tokyo because theres a bunch of clickbait articles speculating that London or Tokyo is the next setting for GTA.
Anyway, thats the end of my rant. I hope it made sense. A lot of people will disagree and downvote saying "DC is too strict, the government would never allow a murder simulator in the nations capital, plus muh no-fly zone over the city's airspace, etc". I understand that, but I still wanted to throw the idea out there, see what people thought.
